He'll leave with a title at least. They are 11 points clear in their league; hard to see them fecking that up.

"The club's management has informed Mauricio Pochettino that his adventure at PSG will end at the end of the season, Abdellah Boulma tells me."

Who could've possibly imagined?!

They finally managed to persuade Zidane to take over in the summer?? Strange decision from him as he can wait a little bit more till the end of the World Cup to take over from Deschamps..

Out of French Cup, 1st in French League though not playing great football, will be a big task to beat Real Madrid in CL... Its' expected that they'll sack him in summer, it's just not been good enough. Winning CL would change that but can't see that happening.

The worst thing is this news will make our board ecstatic that we’ll have a free run at him rather than confirming he isn’t the guy.

Conte to PSG
Poch to Spurs
ETH to United

Please.

Pochettino has to go, blud. Don’t think Zidane matters.

I really hope the club don’t see this as the easy option and just hire him.

While I think that he has relatively low ceiling, Pochettino would still be a safe and solid option as a sort of bridge between our current situation and the top.

The way this thread is I thought Pochettino must of been failing miserably, so I checked League 1 and found PSG 11 points in front of the closest team. Then looked at the CL, 1 point behind City in the group stages, hardly terrible. So Im not too sure what gives, maybe he should have PSG 13 points in front of the nearest team rather than 11?

Maybe it could be something to do with how he had them playing perhaps which according to people who actually watch them regularly hasn't been good enough .

What constitutes good enough? Define that in real variables, not some vague term like 'not good enough'. By not good enough do you mean style of football? Position in the league? CL performances? Should they be 20 points clear of the closest competitor? Should they of been top of the group stages over City? This is a City team mind you that are 9 points clear at the top of the table of the most competitive league in the world.

Looking at outcomes it appears he is doing well. Will they go past RM? Could go either way really.

Well I don't watch them but most French posters who actually do perceive them to be disjointed and lacking any plan on the field who simply rely on individual moments to get by which they believe shouldn't be the case after him being in charge for more than a season effectively .

It feels somewhat inevitable that he will be our manager to me.

The worst thing is that people have already made up their minds and are already against him. He'll get very little time to settle before the pitchforks are out, and we'll see cries of "should've gone for Ten Hag"

Next season should be another fun one...

Defensive football?
Did you not watch them against City this season? Literally 7 men behind the ball and hoped for counter attack. If the front 3 werent such divas they would have defended with 10 men.

If thats his approach against sides that play progressive football then yuck.

And I dont see anything wrong with that. You come in, implement a style and show us what kind of football you wanna play. Results can be forgiven but performances speak volumes. We have had enough of "it will take x number of years to work" bs.

I prefer Ragnick over this dud every day of the week. Its not even close.

That's basically every manager we've had.

I can't tell if you are serious here or not. What do you think would happen if PSG played high up the pitch against a side of Citys quality and didn't have 3 of their players helping out at all defensively? Why do you think United have struggled so much when the forwards haven't been helping the midfield and defence out.

You know how teams tend to struggle when one of their players gets sent off. How do you think a team functions when 3 of their players only get involved in attacking passages of play?

There is a reason that PSG sack managers every few weeks, they have unrealistic expectations of them.

PSG think they should be able to win the CL simply by buying a team of superstar individuals and sticking them on the pitch. They play in a farmers league which doesn't prepare them for the quality of the CL and they are a really unbalanced squad which is facing teams that are not the usual dross they face, very well organised and have similar quality players.

No manager will even be good enough for PSG because they are fundamentally flawed.

Maybe try to look at more than just standing differences next time..

You can look at their ppg, goals scored, goals conceided, the average goal difference, their xG etc. And compare it to clubs like City, Bayern, Real, Liverpool.

PSG have sacked two managers since 2012, Blanc and Tuchel. They have had as many managers as comparable clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea, United or Inter Milan.

Stop putting the excuse of the league, Tuchel played an UCL final with this same PSG.

Ajax was two minutes away from reaching a CL final and now doing great in the UCL once again, all this while playing in the dutch league which is inferior to Ligue 1, and neither Feyenoord or PSV are currently UCL level to warm-up Ajax for Europe.

PSG just choked at the UCL, they did against that Barca side of Enrique and then against Ole's United... that's called choking, in both games they were favorites, and messed everything in the second leg.

And Tuchel was apparently sacked more because of his bad relationship with Leonardo and less because of results, so only Blanc really counts as sacked due to football reasons.

Even in the case of Blanc it wasn't just about Football. He reportedly had issues with certain members of the staff, iirc the youth setup that he allegedly ignored. Youth players like Coman were convinced that they would never really get a chance.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. So in essence they never signed a coach during their oil club years who they thought they had to remove immediately due to lack of results? That is quite a good record to be honest.
