As someone who really doesn't want us to appoint Poch, I'm not sure which result would be more favourable tonight.

PSG winning might mean that they'd be reluctant to get rid of Poch without demanding hefty compensation, and it might prompt Madrid to sack Ancelotti and poach Poch. But on the flipside it might convince our board that Poch is the guy.

On the other hand PSG losing might see our board cool their interest in him, but its possible he gets sacked and then becomes a cheap hire for our board, which will no doubt excite the cheap cnuts.

:annoyed:
I personally can't quite understand why Poch would interest in the Man Utd job unless he is sacked by PSG. May be he likes the challenge?

Can't see anything other than PSG progressing tonight. They were so much better in the first leg and Real didn't have an answer, the turnaround from them will need to be huge and PSG will need to play a level or two lower.

On the contrary, I think Madrid are about to pull some performance and knock them out. It would be classic PSG, this.

On the contrary I think PSG winning will delay Pochettino`s sacking closer to the season`s end thus making ETH more likely as he`s more attainable if the plan is to indeed have someone in place before the end of the season. Despite the doubts around Poch PSG won`t sack him without a replacement in place and outside Zidane who rejected them in December there isn`t an obvious upgrade on Poch.
If PSG however lose the CL tie to Madrid he definitely gets sacked at the end of the season since that`s a catastrophic result and The Glazers being cheapskates will always like a freebie.
Backing PSG to finish the tie though

Poch has really good man management according to Shaw but so did Solskjær, we don’t want a soft touch of a manager again. Ten Haag would obviously be first choice but poch wouldn’t be to bad neither it could certainly be worse then him such as Rodgers. I like how ten Haag and poch have both been talking in recent interviews about attacking football. Especially ten Haag who isn’t happy at 2-0, he wants the 5-0s and constantly wants his team attacking. He said something like if it’s 2-0 at halve time then he expects it to finish at least 5-0. He said that after giving away a 2-0 lead in his last game which they eventually won 3-2 but they had like 39 attempts. We need that kind of manager.

I don’t want Poch either and I think him beating Real tonight is our best option.

It will keep him in PSG’s good books for now, and will mean we will need to pay more to secure his services compared to ETH.

Exactly. We need an idealist not a pragmatist. We need someone to come in with a successful style/approach/philosophy and demand the team play to that end. If they do not or cannot, get rid and replace. Trying to "make the best" of a bad bunch will just continue our failure. Basically we have to commit fully.

I would take him over Ancelotti, so I fear we may lose both Poch and ETH and end up with Ancelotti

You lot are going to tear him a new one after this. But PSG keep on capitulating in the CL when there's a bit of pressure.

I don't see how this guy is gonna change anything for us...PSG are just as bad as we are under pressure. This is the exact attitude we don't need more of

I don’t care who we sign as manager in the summer as we’ll still be shite regardless, so I’m going to go ahead and say that you can’t look any further than the players on the pitch in this game.

You can’t legislate for that level of stupidity.

He has done nothing when Madrid scored.

Looked like he was going to cry on the sidelines,

Will he be sacked this week if they go out?

Carlo done him with his subs. Camavinga changed the game with his range of passing and ability to cover ground

It'd be kind of funny if he got sacked before they win the league. 'Guaranteed trophies at PSG' and he conspires to find a way to avoid winning anything. I'd laugh my ass off right up to the point we hire him.

Amadeus on the first flight to New Delhi as we speak

They wont sack him because they know about a special club stupid enough to pay big bucks for him

Is his job as the manager not to be to attempt to change that? Otherwise what’s his purpose?

His goalkeeper kicked the ball into his own net and the players capitulated thereafter.
PSG were cracking before that. That 5 minute spell of nothing possession should have kicked him into action. It was clear they were scared to do anything with the ball.
Carlo sat Madrid back to cut off their spamming of the through ball to Mbappe and broke on their back 4 from their own fecking box time and time again. PSG didn’t adapt to it at all.

Of course. I'm just saying, it seems ingrained in that club at the moment. PSG have dominated 140 minutes of this 180. They've missed some incredible chances. That's not on Poch. But not being able to do anything to turn it when it went against them, that's mostly on him.

Oh great now its written in the stars we make another shambles decision and hire this fella while we watch Ten Haag prove he has no problem managing a top team a year from now. Couldn't be more obvious.

That PSG side is littered with utterly amazing players, including probably the best CM in the world.
Poch isn’t the best out there - he isn’t even close.
Sadly, his sacking at PSG will lead him to United.

Hopefully we turn our attention to Ten Haag. We just cannot afford to go for a manager who is showing that he can’t win the big trophies. I don’t care what anyone says. Poch has a world class team with PSG and they looks s***e. He’s going to get the sack and guess what. We will hire him.
