Rashford considering his future...

he's playing like shit and he's frustrated. Best thing he can do is go out and have a good performance, or at least look like he gives a dam when he is out there.

People forget barca are not awash with cash. They won't be signing many non free transfers. If any.

A PSG reviving interest is more realistic.

Nothing dumb about it, i've watched basically his whole career from when he made it to the first team home and away from the stands, it was obvious then he wasn't good enough its even more obvious now.

Need to separate the emotional of bond that he is from manchester and the actual quality and talent on show and if you really do aspire to put united back at the top rashford wouldn't get into any of the competing teams first 11 and he isn't going to sit quietly and be humble on the bench that is blatantly clear.

Exactly. Without knowing the full context it does seem like they were shouting "come on rashford....after that performance"...... seemingly requesting him to sign autographs and hoping he would be more inclined to do it after "that performance". Fans are clearly frustrated, but I heard absolutely nothing abusive being said until Rashford lost his shit.

I think Marcus is a good guy who is in a negative head-space right now. I wish he had just apologised because it would have been the best way to move forward.

At a boarder level it seems the "questioning" players performances is a failure of the club to listen/implement. This notion that players shouldnt have feedback is no more ridiculous than providing feedback on goods or services I'd purchased elsewhere. I just couldn't image a waiter(ess) trying to dig someone out for poor service, poor food etc or having the brass neck to say what Wright has said. The club retweeting MRs remarks is shocking.

It sticks.

They wouldn’t pay £60m on ‘current form’ either. In fact, they wouldn’t pay £10m on current form. They wouldn’t be signing him based on current form. They’d be signing him because they have know about, and probably held an interest in him for years.

If Sancho is the long term LW for the team, I don't see any place for rashford in the squad tbh. He still has some good value in market, so probably selling him for a good price is the best option.

fecks sake. Never been good enough now? He was plenty good enough up until 2021. Then he hit a slump. He had back to back seasons of over 20 goals. Back to back seasons of double digit assists as well didn't he? Excellent underlying stats, particularly before the stress fracture in his spine. Always made himself available for the club. Always showed up in big moments.

You're talking out of your ass. Claiming he has never been good enough is fecking stupid and laughably blind. No 2 ways about it.

He's right in the whole "if you can give you can take it" thing. And that fan, despite what people believe on here, was certainly provoking a reaction from Rashford, which is exactly what he got. That'd be fine if simply told the guy to feck off ala Mike Basset, but instead he crosses the line by offering him out. It's not on and he knows it, hence the follow-up apology.

But as I said yesteday, Rashford doesn't react to twatish hecklers 12 months ago, the fact that he did the other night just goes to show his in a poor mental state.

Or you know, using him as a squad player? Sancho can be used on either wing. Rashford can play up top or on the right occasionally but is best as a LW. Do City sell Bernardo Silva, Sterling, Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, Mahrez because they don't necessarily start every game? No they have a group of attackers to rotate with and push each other on. We have Sancho, Rashford..... martial..... Elanga.... Amad...??? You're saying we sell Rashford, leading us to need to sign a starting striker, a backup striker, a starting winger, and a depth winger now. Its literally horrible squad management to sell a player like Rashford after a bad year when he can provide so much.

Ridiculous. Of course the fans have right to criticise player’s performance. It’s like customer has right to criticise food to cooks not just the owner and the restaurant manager are allowed to do it. On top of that, there were kids there waiting outside and he showed a middle finger. It shows his immaturity.
 
I reckon all this comes down to is Rashford‘s contract expiring next summer and him posturing for a new deal. It’s easy to get caught up in the details of it now but it’s exactly the sort of scenario we used to dismiss as shenanigans because the player is negotiating a new contract.

Rashford knows what he’s worth to the club from a brand perspective and he knows how weak our hand is right now. With the Greenwood situation, Ronaldo, Cavani and Martial.

Im calling it now, he will get his bumper new contract and be happy again by next season.

Rashford is not a top top player never has been never will be, if he was willing to rotate and play as part of a squad be a valuable asset, but i have little faith he would take on such a role.

I have seen Robbo being screamed at using the F word and what did he do? Just nodded and looked sadly. He was having a horrible game that day. He didn't say anything back to the fans. He was within touching distance.
Rashford is not fit to even lace Robbo's boots. One thing you can never accuse of Robson is not trying.
Fans are unhappy with Rashford not because of his lack of form. But for more than a season he couldn't be arsed to make an effort. That's what it is. This rewriting of history that's it's his lack of form is the issue should be straightened out.

Dembele been on fire. I would take a swap deal. Sancho on left, Dembele on right would be nice for us. At the end of the day, we are stacked on that left side. We need a left footed player who can play on the right. I would take Dembele or Raphinha

I can understand the tension between him and the fans. They are basically frustrated with each other.

Rashford cant seriously be saying he is the most critical person of his own performance though. I dont like statements like these when they are padded with things like "I went through hell for the club, I am strong and I know everything, I am most critical for my own performances" to paint himself way better out ot context. It smells like Lukaku, looks petty and adds nothing. Most of his fans arent 5 years old. How can he be the most critical person on the planet about his performance when he didnt even run nor press properly in some games. Is running hard for a football player? Id take Dan James over him just for the running alone.

Whatever your opinions are regarding these matters, overblown, exaggerated, deserved or not, I can't help but think that based on this latest PR statements, he is becoming more and more like Lukaku than I would have liked.
 
The guy mopes rounds the pitch can hardly string a pass together, i think every touch against Atletico he gave to the other team.

Its not a loss of form its a loss of effort of the most basic things you expect from any professional level footballer, huge difference and deserves all the criticism he gets about his football.

What? Its nothing to do with standards falling or not. Rashford was by every measure an excellent player until 2021. Then he hit his slump. Of course he can stay and have a role even if he isn't an automatic guaranteed starter. A properly managed squad, like City's, or Liverpool's, have multiple quality players that compete for places with each other. Who are the main starters from City's attacking group of 5/6 players? Nobody can even say. Liverpool have Salah, Mane, Jota, Firmino and Diaz. Only Salah has a locked in place.

United next season will likely have Sancho, Rashford, Martial, Elanga before even looking at selling one of these... We've got to buy multiple players anyway. You want to add get rid of Rashford on top and be left with pretty much just Sancho as a senior attacker in the squad (given Martial might leave as well)? Its craziness. He's not going anywhere not should he.

Of course fans have a right to criticize, I don't think anybody has said any different, but there are ways and means, just as there are if you want to criticize poor food or bad service.

But I hope that you'd approach the waiter or waitress politely and point out why you're unhappy, not shout and yell at them from halfway across the room and certainly not hang about outside so you can continue to harangue them when they leave.

Or these days maybe not, it seems everyone now has a sense of entitlement and the right to express it, and of course it's not just United fans, every club has their supporters who feel it's their right to say and do whatever they want.

And it's not even just footballers, unfortunately anyone these days who works in a public-facing role, whether it's waitresses or shop assistants, binmen or council workers has to put up with the 'I pay your wages' brigade.

I think you are totally over looking the fact it is he unhappy with reduced playing time due to his serious dip in form. Its seriously doubtful he'd ever be happy with a back up role. Making it a challenge to keep him
 
We've been here before with players and the sunken cost fallacy, thinking that if we keep playing them theyll come good. Sell him for as much as possible and even if he comes good elsewhere it has nothing to do with us. He's a complete mess to be honest, every feeling becomes a national story, fuelled by his team and his own posts. He did give the fans the finger and then he lied about it which also suggests a real lack of character for all the bluster. Maybe a coach could harness good from him but he needs to bin his current advisors 100%, and he quite obviously doesnt have the bandwith to juggle multiple pressures and needs to make football his sole focus.

You have to remember him and Lingard are not strong mentally and can be quite petty when it comes into protecting or promoting their images.

If you read their twitter timelines you can see how most of the stuffs written there look like they are generated by a robot especially when they have to apologize or explain an incident, they look nice but theres no soul in it. Are these football players or companies? and in those, there is at least one sentence that make them seem like they have worked really hard, they know about their performances the best, etc. Basically not wanting to take a full responsibility.

One should be at Westham since thats about his level but he keeps giving it the biggun once he has the high ground (e.g. after scoring a shitty goal that everyone will forget about the next week). And the other one is struggling for whatever issue but refuses to acknowledge it but instead started a drama of "considering his future". If you really want to leave or go elsewhere, do it like Martial at least. Speak to the manager when the time allows you to go.

These two academy players (and Pogba) are not like the other, they are separate organizations that have partnership with United. Not two players with contracts to play football for United.
