I brought it up because @Rooney in Paris tried to tar us all with the same brush despite the fact the Abramovic chants were drowned out by a significant majority in our last home game. I think it’s a poor comparison to be honest (along with trying to link Mata and Matic to RA).

People will read that and feel that rather than accepting things as they are you’re just trying to deflect. That will irritate people and cause a reaction.

@WeePat and @TheMagicFoolBus have both been excellent in this thread as despite some ribbing they’ve been totally objective and willing to criticise their club without caveats.

Appreciate the kudos; would also emphasise that @WeePat has been spot on in everything he's said (much more so than me, for my money).

Personally I find this whole saga to be extremely disheartening well beyond the ramifications for the football club on the pitch - I'd be lying if I said I had been somewhat blissfully ignorant of the extent of the moral depths much of our fanbase has sunk to. I'd say they should be ashamed but increasingly I question whether they have the capacity. Eye-opening, to be sure.

This is all short-term pain for long-term gain. Chelsea's a bit too big to fail and as long as TV rights continue to increase domestically and internationally, most PL clubs will be a valuable investment for investment companies, especially if you're a London club.

Indeed. We've all known who he is and that eventually it would catch up to us. Doesn't mean we didn't enjoy the feck out of all the success & anyone telling you otherwise or that they've 'been wanting him out for years' is kidding themselves quite frankly. But now is probably the time to get an owner(s) with far less issues and trying to strike the balance between that and being competent in a sporting sense.

Fortunately we are in a pretty privileged position compared to some others (Derby) and my main worry over the past few weeks was just the club existing in the years to come.

Are you implying THEY would have given that money to Russian troops?

You simply cannot equate your hypotheticals with the attempt to internationally legitimise probably the most evil and murderous man in the world. Will be kept with the goverment. Roman will at some point have the chance to appeal the sanctions and if successful (unlikely) he'll then get the money from the sale.

No it's still Roman s asset and he is the one decides to whom he wanted to sell. Government role is to ensure roman just not get the money from process.

He will have to fight it out in court to get money if he wanted to. Money won't goto government too since Roman s assets not seized but freezed.Government can't play the Robinhood here.
