Dubai a contender to buy Man Utd

It’s a slightly less awful option than the Saudis, I guess?

even still, we don’t need an oil daddy with questionable human rights records. The club earns more than enough revenue to compete with those already, we just need owners willing to spend all that money within the club and not taking it from it.

Can't we get bought by one of those good countries, you know, like... Iceland?

*waits for someone to tell me how evil Iceland is*

Like I said. There's no ordinary billionaire who can actually afford us. It simply has to be some insanely wealthy bezos type person to buy us. Its hilarious thinking Jim is that man. Wishful thinking.

Aren't they always broke and being bailed out by the richer Emirates?

Last thing we need are these monsters buying our club who could force the manager into making g statement signings
Second point isn’t as important as the first but just give me someone who will let us spend what we earn. That’s more than enough

"yeah let's buy this club to curry favor amongst their politicians and launder our horrible reputation... What's that, they're in our pockets already? They sell us weapons? ... They let us buy real estate??... you know what we could use? Some fans who argue on the Internet on our behalf... 3.4B, write the check"

"

Ideally not but nfortunately these types of owners are realistically the only chance of us competing with the likes of City in the long term.

Only £3.7bn, didn't they turn that down when the Saudis were looking for a club to buy? Ratcliffe, are you seeing this?

You really prefer the Dubai cnuts?

Nope. I hate the Glazers as much as the next guy, but I will never accept that.
I’d rather have the Dubai cnuts than the Glazer cnuts. At least the Dubai cnuts won’t steal our own generated money to fill their own pockets.

No, no, no and no! We‘d be a sports washing project for a dictatorship with no respect for common human rights.

What will happen to assets owned by these emirates when the oil runs out or people stop wanting it, which will happen in the next 30 years. They’re rich now on oil, but without oil it’s a small patch of sand that keeps it’s residents quiet by waving taxes because they can fill it in with oil revenue.

Dubai doesn't have any/much oil

I don't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

You're not going to get morally spotless billionaire owners.

The Glazers have stolen billions from the working class, the United fans.

If we're gonna have asshole owners I'd rather have some who invest in the club instead of taking money out.

If we (and I assume we all do) want the Glazers out we have to be realistic about who can buy a club for £3.75b. Very few will be squeaky clean and we'll have very little say in who takes over. Ratcliffe is clearly the most palatable option but if not him then who?

States shouldn't own football clubs. States definitely shouldn't own Man Utd. I'd rather keep the Glazers.

You have to laugh at people on here. We want glazers out. But they can’t be American. They can’t be part of an investment fund. They can’t be from the Middle East. You all want some imaginary benefactor willing to spend 4bn without any concept of return. Unless Ratcliffe sticks his money where his mouth is there are very few “good” options. Hopefully he will make a bid but even he isn’t doing it out of altruism.

Absolutely no thanks. But nice to see a price being rumoured. Things might start to happen.

I'm fine with this. The sport has been awash with this tinge of money now for a while, and people still are coming back for more. So let's take advantage of it and have owners than inject in to rather than suck from the club.

Glazers can F right off.

From Old Trafford to Al Burj Trafford, Manchester United have come a long way!

No thanks, I detest what that oil money has done to the game and don't want it at united being just a prop for more sports washing
