Brendan Rodgers | Rejoins Celtic on 3 year deal

Really? I don't remember a single poster on here that wanted him?

Go back 20 pages in this very same thread and you'll find few posters wanting him or having no problems with him being a United manager.

Writings on the wall with this one. He’ll be gone by Tuesday evening.

Wow. I am quite shocked. Thought everyone could see him for what he is by now.

Thanks feck we dodge this one, it would have been another wasted years of blinded hopes filled with grief and sorrow.

There were plenty. It's not like Rodgers is suddenly a terrible manager, just like Tuchel, Bielsa, Dyche, Ranieri, Hughes, Bruce, Farke, Benitez, and even our own Van Gaal didn't suddenly forget how to do the job. I think a lot of them were victims of their boards, bad luck through injuries, not getting the lucky bounce, shit refs, whatever. Rodgers probably would have been a morale boost over anyone we've had since Fergie, and probably could have gotten the team to play better than Ole had. That said, I'm glad we didn't get him.

Don’t think the situation down at Leicester is simply down to Rodger’s, but he’s clearly not cut out for crisis management.
Losing Kasper has had a big impact on the the teams confidence, his replacement is awful, plus they’ve only brought in Faes. Any of their half decent ambitious players will be looking to move soon just as Fofana has.

I wonder if the rumours of Leicester not being able to afford sacking him are true.

Bit weird people going in hard on Rodgers.

He’s been shafted by losing key players and not having any money to spend in the window.

Yeah, but this is relegation form. He has last years team available, minus a goalkeeper. He should be able to get them to play better than they are right now. From the boards perspective, they'll need someone that can steady the ship, till they can add a couple of players and start moving up again.

Feel for him to be honest he’s not been backed this summer and seems to constantly lose key players.

I do feel the time is right for a change though for both the club and Rogers.

What in the world made them think Ward could be a Premier League caliber no 1? Yet more teams just throwing money at Liverpool for their castoffs.

Get the feeling he'll get Forest at home.

That is obviously a must win otherwise he will be sacked.

Danny Ward who has replaced Schmeichel is perhaps the worst performing goalkeeper in Premier League history. He has been beyond abysmal for them so far this season. He's already conceded 6.1 more goals than expected using PSxG as a measure which is pretty accurate. Projected over a season he would concede 33 more goals than expected! The next worst are Banazu at Southampton with 2.5 more conceded than expected and Mendy at Chelsea with 1.9, to give an idea of how much worse he's been than the competition.

The coach has some responsibility for the players being brought in. He should've given Ward a lookover before bringing him in.

Ward has been at the club 4 years, he was signed by Puel, but Rodgers has insisted he's a number one keeper in waiting

He's taking the piss. Could've easily gotten dubravka or pope
Pope moved before Kasper left, its pretty simple, play Iversen, one of the best keepers in the Championship last season, exactly the type of signing we used to make only he's already our player

Kasper wanted out for a year, no way he got caught by surprise. Not trusting Iversen is also baffling unless he's not fully fit from his injury. Because Ward really does look like he won a competition, the way he just guesses a direction making saves and turning his head away from shots.

That makes Rodgers even more culpable for persisting with him. Definitely sack worthy decision.

Saw that they gave Liverpool £12.5m for him in 2018 and now I want them to go down.

Iversen played all of pre season as Ward was recovering from injury, the club highly rate Iversen (also highly rate Stolarczyk but his loan isn't going great we picked badly). Its just ego from the manager as to why Daniel isn't starting

Rodgers has spent horribly as usual. He did the same at Liverpool and Celtic. They can’t spend due to his poor spending. Though they need to take blame for allowing him control of transfers when his record is patchy at best
They can’t spend because they are a tiny club
remove the freak league win and who actually signs for Leicester?
they got a great bit of luck where vardy kante mahrez etc all turned out to be worldies
They weren’t recognised beforehand, it’s almost impossible to repeat that. They were never going to remain a top 4 threat

The problem is that their keeper looks sh1t.

The problem is that their keeper looks sh1t.nts away but doesn't
We have a keeper who was on loan last season at Preston North End last season and won player of the season there.
He is highly rated and is the back up keeper for Denmark.
The problem is that Rodgers in his typically stubborn fashion sticks with Ward who has been just terrible rather than give Iverson a start. As much as Rodgers likes to brag about giving young players a chance, the reverse is true. He sticks with players that are underperforming while refusing to give other players a chance.
There is a school of thought among Leicester fans that Rodgers wants gone but doesn't want to lose his ten million pound payoff. The feeling is that he's sticking with Ward to ensure he gets fired and collects the cash.

They have a great run of fixtures coming, so maybe they'll give him those games and see if there's any resurgence.

As well as poor positioning, Ward also looks like he’s carrying some extra timber, he’s a big old unit.

they need to have a clean break, sack Rodgers and move on. Problem is, for a club reluctant to spend they will have to pay off Rodgers and spend to hire a new coach. Any half decent coach coming in, is going to want to have reassurances that he can spend, and seemingly the club won't do that, so finding a new manager could be a tough proposition.

Leicester fans when they realize BR will be staying

Oh Brenda

should have known after he was giving it the Bertie Big Bollocks act this week after 1 win

Has anything changed? Do they have the cash to pay him off?
