There is a massive amount of room between doing absolutely nothing and being happy being an island and nuclear armaggedon. Just saying.

The Jews were not a country that were at war. They were a people being rounded up by the millions and being slaughtered. His comment and its intent are appalling and sick.

Also from a selfish point of view the dynamics of WW2 were completely different to today, Germany was militarily equal to the U.K. so the Germans invading the U.K. was a real possibility and something that Hitler planned to do and came close to doing. The Russian has no plans on attacking Britain.

Worked brilliantly before the whole appeasement tactic.

Nobody wants WW3 and I don’t think article 5 is personally the right response but we should be getting involved.

Germany invading the UK was an impossibility. As for your point about the Jews, I'll remind you that the large majority of Jews that were killed by the Nazis were not German Jews.

The Ukraine power grid was connected to the European in a hurry when this was started (was connected to the Russian before).That was a planned move, but as Ukraine wasn't really ready this was a technically risky move even if Russia didn't attack Ukrainian power stations. So it's not surprising that it has an effect on Europe, but the decision was made to accept this risk to support Ukraine and stabilize their electrical power situation

You don’t have to be a country to be at war. If someone wants to wipe you off the face of the planet it doesn’t matter if you’re Ukrainian, Jewish or otherwise.

Russia is a threat to NATO at this point. It’s not right to turn a blind eye to this.

You can’t sugarcoat war with pretty analogies. I feel like people have become desensitised to war by seeing it so much on the tv, maybe to some they think it’s a like a video game.

Actually the opposite. I’m assuming your wife hasn’t been the one unable to make any contact with her parents and friends, since the electricity supply and Internet was wiped out by Russian missiles in her hometown today.

You get your feet up though and enjoy living on your little island.
 
Putin is only accelerating his own demise, tonight incident or not.
 
I personally think it’s less disturbing to use a graphic and horrifying metaphor to criticise the evil of inaction, than claiming there is no moral or rational imperative to act against neighbouring genocidal dictators that only understand strength.

UK has to get into a war if NATO gets into a war. It’s very unlikely that it will and certainly not over today’s incident.

AlWalnut is only playing the race card, because he’s been confronted with the reality of what turning a blind eye actually entails and hasn’t got anywhere else to go. At that point, he’s decided yelling “RACIST” and pointing is his best strategy.

Nato vs Russia wouldn't amount to WW3 (Russia's one country ffs) and doesn't have to inevitably lead to nuclear armageddon.

If Nato got involved directly in this conflict it would likely only be to target Russian troops and assets in Ukraine and the Black Sea and cripple Russia's military capability. I don't see there being any appetite or motivation to attack Russia itself, so by Russian law as I understand it they can't justify using nukes. If they don't use Nukes Nato certainly won't.

The fact that you claim to have family effected in this war does not give you the right to be irrational or provocative to people who want their country to remain militarily neutral.

Opinion on the news is saying it’s most likely accidental or a missile that was hit by ukraine defence and landed in Poland.

He said: "We are acting very calmly.

"What happened was a one-off incident.

"There are no indications that there will be a repeat."
