Premier League Gameweek 20-21

Have you even been watching Arsenal? Their gameplay is well ahead of ours at the moment.

We were lucky to get away with the performance against City. A team in form like Arsenal won't be as sloppy as City were.

City is still the standard bearer in the league no matter if they're behind Arsenal in the table, compared to the pathetic displays we have churned out in past Manchester derbies in the last few seasons this was a breath of fresh air, we might not be the finished product but our performances against the big six this season have for the most part been fantastic, on current form I like our chances against anyone, whether that's Arsenal, Barcelona, City, whoever.

We bossed them at OT no matter how "well" they claim they played in that fixture.

Was watching some of the highlights of the weekend on YouTube.

Marc Albrighton is one of those players who seems to have been around in the PL for about 20 years now without ever doing anything remarkable.

Whatever about Casemiro, Martinez is like 4 ft3, Xhaka would eat him for breakfast in anything physical. I don't think Casemiro quite has the hardman attitude of either of them but he looks proper tough when he has to be.

He isn't called the butcher for nothing, however you try him out if certain he has nothing about him.

He won the Premier League and an FA Cup. That's better than most footballers. Weird one to be annoyed about.

I wouldn't go near him. There must be better and more long term options available for the price he would cost.

Depends if you see Sesko/Vlahovic as good enough, will be looking at well over €100m for Osimhen

Xhaka? You're having a laugh.
He's all bark but no bite about him and hold me hold me.

Come of it. We had a bad period in the 2nd but overall it was a good game by us and we deserved the victory.

Never mentioned being annoyed by it. Not sure where you picked that up from.
I just thought winning the Premier League with Leicester at the lowest odds in history + a prestigious FA Cup doesn't really align with "never done anything remarkable" :p

Their defence and organisation is solid. Howe to his credit has worked on that.

Sadly with the investment and resources at their disposal, Newcastle won't be going away. They may drop out of the top four, but their recruitment and strategy is far more organised than City's was when the Abu Dhabi group took over.
True - they won't be going away. I am however suprised that they are already among the 4 best, when you look at their squad. There are many teams in the league with stronger squads - some of them much stronger. Howe must have done an amazing job, but stil...If the quality is not there in the team, then I would think that sooner or later they will collapse.

They've conceded the least goals in the league. 11. They are physically superior and can run in packs for entire matches. Not the most creative, but they have a lot of movement and have good crossing.

The players you listed are good, except for Longstaff. But as a whole, they defend and work very hard with a lot of commitment. And that is evident by the best defensive record and shithouse tactics like during the penalty fiasco.

Of course all the players I listed are good - they all play in the PL. But good enough for top 4? I just can`t see it. And I do not think they will finish there at the end of the season.

Through the first half of the season, they've proven to be worthy, that's all we can go with. Because there's no recent track record for Arsenal, Newcastle, and Man United, 3 of the current top 4, then there's going to be skepticism as there was, rightfully, when Leicester won the title. That's why taking it match by match is so important. You're only as good as your last match.

Unless Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, or even Brighton have 2 ridiculous unbeaten runs for the rest of the season, we're all just waiting for one or two current top 4 teams to collapse.

KDB dropped Pep playing 2 strikers...
Looks like a 442 or 424 from the team sheet and not a strong one.

--------------------------------------Ederson--------------------------------------
Lewis----------------Akanji-----------------Stones-------------------Ake
--------------------------Rodri-------------------Gundo--------------------------
Mahrez----------------------------------------------------------------------Jack
------------------------Alvarez------------------Yeti-----------------------------

With Lewis probably gonna keep coming into midfield, some kind of ww formation with the ball.

--------------------------------------Ederson--------------------------------------
Akanji----------------------------Stones----------------------------------Ake
--------------------------Lewis-------------------Rodri--------------------------
Mahrez----------------------------Gundo-------------------------------Jack

Harsh on Pep, he hadn't been doing too badly.

Cancelo also dropped or has a knock

Thats what happens when I forget to use a comma. My bad.

Cancelo has been dogshite all season, for all the talk of offside the way he pulled our whole defence into no mans land for Uniteds equaliser on Saturday was typical of him this season, thinks he's too good to actually focus on defending. Dropped for Ake and Dalot in the same couple of months. Not a great look despite both the latter twos improvements.

De Bruyne made the assist against United.
Pep feels the need to try something else
