Premier League Gameweek 20-21

Typical just as we have a shit season, city decide to have a wobble letting Arsenal who have been nowhere competitive in years have a free run. Always made us sweat for it. Bastards.

Seriously what the feck is up with your team? Why are they bottling the league so bad? It's fecking Arsenal not Liverpool they're competing with

Out of idea's, out of motivation too by the looks of things. Pep trying too hard to make up for out of form players instead of letting them play themselves into form. We're a mess since we got back from the world cup.
The elephant in the room is our only good performance post WC was the one where Erling didn't play. Granted against a struggling Chelsea but our FA Cup team beat them 4-0 our full strength team 1-0.

The team today has no legs, Mahrez and Grealish lack pace when both play, Gundogan and Rodri in a 2 man midfield is asking to get countered (no legs) and the cb selections are baffling. Slow fb's, slow CB's, slow wingers, slow midfield and playing on the half way line. Feel sorry for young Lewis, yet again the only player that gets any credit from a 45 minutes of LVG at his worst football. Pep has a big job on his hands to lift this squad, last time this happened he relied on Fernandinho to sort it and lead the meeting. We don't have a Fernandinho now.

City lose quite a lot of control with Haaland in the team. They essentially played with an extra midfielder in previous seasons, which led to more possession and less opportunities for their opponents to attack their defence.
If Lewandowski can adapt to Pep's tactic in Bayern and Xavi's in Barca, Haaland may be able to too. He is still young and he can keep develop his game. Lewandowski's all around game is much much better at the moment.

I thought Ederson was every bit as bad at the second goal tbh.

Why palm it back out like that? It's a terrible cross to no one that is flying out for a throw in if you just leave it. Be aware of your box and you'll know there's no Spurs player there to put it in.

Atrocious keeping on both goals, it happens Ederson some times where he has these games where he's just not on it mentally. Any tuned in keep punches that ball out for a corner.

Yeah fair enough.

I don't think they will catch us up though to be honest. They have a weirdly great record vs City but they're still a team in trouble with a manager who is likely off in the summer.

Me too. They're inconsistent and are 3 behind us with a game more even if they win tonight

We'll sitll finish 2nd, dont worry
I just want top 4 for now .. considering we havent strengthened at all. (ronaldo -> Wout is sideways without the moaning)

But I also want as much of a buffer as we can get.. Chelsea might come in strong at some point.. We also have a lot of games coming up.

Arsenal need a massive bottlejob to feck up this league title. There's barely anyone competing with them at the moment.

Goddamn it'll be frustrating to watch their fans celebrating this title. They're insufferable.

Actually feels like the opposite this season, Pep changed the tactic to suit him and they went from a well oiled machine to.... this

Isn't this, like, a massive game, and stuff? Why can't City fill their ground? Genuinely curious. @Gentleman Jim @padr81, any idea why this is ?

We just don't have the fanbase, lots of our support do mental gymnastics to deny it, but thats the truth. We don't have enough support to fill the ground week in week out nor do we have the day trippers the big clubs have.

If only Case had scored at the very end.. or we played better overall.
those 2 points are going to irritate me for a while..

I want some top 4 cushion.. Who do Newcastle play at the weekend? Looking at Newcastle results just feels wrong..
Crystal Palace.
Don't worry, everything is part of the plan, we allowed CP to score at the end, giving them huge amount of confidence. They will win Newcastle.

They better.. it'll make up for the dropped points for me.. I'm even writing off the Arse game.. if we can get something there, it'll be a nice bonus.

Love to see Tottenham go for it. Their pressing is aggresive and they are playing fearlessly. Which led to the first goal. One thing I hope United do next time we face the noise neighbors.

Rather the Gooners win the league than City but having said that, we’ll twat them on Sunday and then it gets interesting

Because they are plastics. They are a facade of a team, like the front of a bank with no building behind. Their sponsors are fake. Their spending is defended by legal hounds who resist fair play. They are a nation state in disguise, who bought the league a couple of times. Yes there are a few duds on Bluemoon, yes there are a few in the stadium, there are probably there on the basis of a love for football, and passion for the team. but they are a small minority. The rest are made from formica, or whatever expandable is in the blue seats.

No, they will not. They don't have in them, fine now, winning, good form, great atmosphere... One, two bad results, they go down, fast.
I said this too earlier but at this point it's just being in denial to say they won't win.

Everyone around them are shyte,!

That whole sequence from Kane for the 2nd goal was pure class. He should be a big push for the summer under new owners

He's practically a pensioner and not better than Osimhen according to the CAF experts.

How often do City concede goals in quick succession in games? Seems every time they let a goal in, another goal gets scored a couple of minutes later. It’s a major mentality flaw in this City side and seems like Guardiola has no idea how to address it.

No changes, christ on a bike Pep is pissing me off tonight.

Looks to me like Guardiola is 100% in on giving up on all other competitions to win the Champions League now. Which probably means he’s buggering off in the summer.

I thought he was bluffing on Sunday when he said he doesn’t care about the League but here we are.

So annoying that Liverpool and city are imploding and we aren’t quite there to take advantage of it.

They’ve been terrible at home for a while now, it needs to be addressed by the pundits at some stage.

Posted some posts in the Bluemoon meltdown thread yesterday, or day before, ticket prices were to high. Maybe that is the reason.

All good reasons, thanks for the responses. It just seems weird since their stadium isn't even that big in the first place, you'd have thought they could regularly get 50,000 coming in to see the likes of KDB and Haaland play football. Weird considering people use City as an example for doing everything right off the field (i.e. social media, as per Jesse Lingard). I'm not having a go. Just weird to me.

Respect. Decent post, as always.

Completely different players... Haaland is a poacher who will never contribute much to the build up or control. He's in for his goal threat. Lewandowski, Benzema, Kane, Dzeko are all elite strikers who right from the start showed they were very talented all around forwards who had elite hold up play, elite control, could pass it around and create for their other attackers, along with get the goals themselves. Haaland is a poacher on crack in terms of making the runs in behind with his pace and power and just finishing them. He doesn't have those tools in his locker to develop that side of his game, just like Lukaku, Darwin etc don't have.
