Champions League Round of 16 (14th Feb - 15th Mar)

What's the point of clubs like Leipzig. People may not like this but football was way more competitive in 2000s. Now you have half of these teams who have zero soul and are just not even good enough to be playing on ro16.
 
Still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that such a plastic, manufactured club have such a player like Haaland play for them.

These posts are dumb.

It is hard for clubs who are not one of the richest in the world with unlimited money to compete on the highest level because of how the money has exploded, especially for PL teams. Why would you look down on them?

He's by far not my dream player but anyone describing him as a simple tap-in merchant is either biased or not to be taken seriously.

What? They were Champions league semi finalists a couple of years ago. And anyway, who defines the point of a football club by whether they're competitive in the knock out rounds of the top club competition in the world?

2 or 3 years back, there was some report about how panelists are told what to speak about. It is not random thoughts coming out of mind. There is a script given by whoever runs the show from background and the panelists discuss only that. Which is why some decisions are not talked about.

Yes football is broken. There is nothing dumb about that. If you enjoy such football where one team just can go and buy anyone while others are just there to fill numbers. My post was not to knock Leipzig but teams like City who have zero soul.

Leipzig are as good as some of the clubs in the 2000s. But it’s a general problem with some football matches now where teams get absolutely trounced and when the game is going against them they don’t seem to try to keep the score down for professional pride. It happens way more often these times at the top level.

We can’t talk, look at the Liverpool game. But it’s part of a wide trend - Brazil-Germany, Barca-Bayern, Barca-PSG and many more

Agreed. Football may be better now but the competitiveness is far below the 2000s.
 
City in the last few years have ripped the CL like nobody else before, regularly spanking teams in the early knockouts. It’s so weird how they fail to win it every year.
 
Like a magnet for loose balls in the box. Proper schooling this.
