Wonder if he's appointed, is he gonna take over this season however few games remains, or he waits until next season? He's free after all.

I would find it strange if he dont wait untill the summer. They are in a horrible state now, and he might get ”dragged down” and starts on a negative note if he starts in may f.ex.
Start in the sunmer : fresh start.

He might get the job before and will surley have access to all info he needs anyway.

If Chelsea recover properly from losing Roman short term (next few seasons), I'll be surprised.

Boehly looks like a clown.

Poch? Very likely to end in tears.

Don't see how he will deal with Boehly any better. Unless Chelsea have changed their ways.

What has been reported is he will have input on transfers before the season ends, but he will not take over the team until after the season ends.

Are Chelsea fans happy with this? Pretty underwhelming I think.
I wouldn't say I'm underwhelmed. Not overwhelmed either though. I'm whelmed.

Of the options perhaps Nagelsmann was the sexier option but I'd take a safe, boring choice at the moment.

I like this, is this a word?

Most of the Chelsea fans I know are kinda underwhelmed but have warmed to the idea over time. They appreciate we can utilise the things Poch is good at.

That's fair enough. He's a safe pair of hands who will make you competitive, although big doubts about how high he can go.

Will be interesting to see how it goes. He's steady enough, just lost a bit of his shine from his Harry Kane FC days.

14 months off between Spurs and PSG. 12 months off between PSG and Chelsea.

At lease he’ll be well rested.

If it’s an immediate move then my laughed at prediction will have come true!
Again, with zero money placed as per usual

It’s not, so you can rest assured that you’re wrong about something …. again ;)

I think it's a shrewd appointment. It's always kind of hard to predict, especially when a club is on its arse performance wise, there's a lot of uncertainty and you never know how it's going to go.

But I think they're getting a man with an enviable PL record, that has a history of developing talent which Chelsea need, and has been able to play attacking, interesting football. They are all huge ticks for me because it's a job where you have unfinished talents they've bought and no defined style.

On a personal level he can work through a project without immediately imploding and alienating fans or ownership. That's also important, especially if Todd is as crazy as people make out. You need someone that can be diplomatic. Personally I think all that is overblown anyway, but if the narrative around him is true it could be a factor.

Pretty much confirmed then. Matt Law is very reliable for Chelsea news IIRC.

He is brilliant and you all will love him.

I know you would say that but a lot of us don’t rate Poch as highly as you Spurs fans. I think it could prove to be a good match for now though.

I think he'll do well there. It's a good squad. A goalscorer short but haven't they already signed Nkunku as well?

Is he due to take the reigns now or at end of season?

Better than Lampard, so its going to be improvement for them.

To be fair if Boehly went down into the dugout he would probably do better than Lampard

Poch will do okay with them, but I don't think they'll challenge for higher than 3rd or 4th under him.

We have, but Nkunku plays off a number nine. Not sure he can handle the role of leading the line. There are of course other systems that would still make use of his talent.
