You can add Kane to this team and it wouldn’t compete for the title, so unless you are going to invest the rest of what is necessary then Kane will be over the hill by the time we are ready. We already have Casemiro, Varane and Eriksen who are entering their latter years. This squad needs players the right side of 26, not in their 30s.
I understand the argument, but I just think we have to go for it now. We finally have a world class midfielder, but he might be on the wane in another couple of years, and the same with Varane (you could argue he already is given his injury issues). You buy a striker with an eye on the future and just as he reaches peak you're needing to replace Casemiro. Let's strike while the iron is hot and worry about replacing him in 3 years time.
I imagine that if there was a 26 year old out there who would guarantee you even 75% of the goals/creativity that Kane would, for less money, then we would be all over him like a rash. Who is he though?
That’s the job of scouts and analysts to identify that player. You look for what a player can become rather than what they have already done.

What player doesn’t exist? If you believe that only players who scored 30 goals in the PL last season are capable of scoring 30 goals next season, then we might as well not bother scouting at all.
All that's true, but actually maybe what Spurs need is a complete reset? The longer they go on relying on Kane's goals to paper over the cracks the further away they get from solving all the other problems they have. An extra £100 million budget for a new manager might help to sweeten the deal?
I think the point is that you are advocating something without being able to name someone that might fit the bill? It's a no-brainer to sign a 26 year old for less money than Kane if he's capable of scoring 30 goals next season, but realistically how many of them are there in the world? Any player that meets that criteria is surely going to be valued incredibly highly by his club and there would be huge competition to sign him. That's another thing about Kane - IF he was to leave Spurs then we're probably in pole position to sign him. You definitely couldn't say that about many of the world's top players.
Thing is, they’ll have to face life without him at some point. If he walks at the end of next season then that’s that. The problem for Levy (and us) is that the pressure on him is so great that selling Kane might be the final straw and cause a full-blown revolt against the board
Yep that could happen but I think if we get bought by SJ or SJR they will view this very differently and look to make money he could be given a two year loan and sign a new 4 year contract that no one would find out about until next year to protect an asset however tainted. Then the new owner blames The Glazers as this was done before they took control !

Everyone who knows football know that Spurs have shit squad. But Levy thinks differently, he thinks as long as he has Kane, Spurs have chance to make it to top 4.
Do you seriously think these players (and all the other names mentioned) are going to move to a club to be a rotation player, Varane is one of the best CB's in the world, Min-Jae ain't replacing him anytime soon, why would Rice, a 24 year old international, go somewhere to be rotation player, and why would Rashford sign a new contract to be a rotation player?
