Westminster Politics

Not sure it’s ballsy to do it so late. At this point he would have had more respect from me if he kept her and made her eat shit
Don't think she eats shit by keeping her. She had influence of her position to do more damage if she stayed.

Putting competence or incompetence aside, I think Sunak is one of the few tories who genuinely wants to make a positive impact and he knows the damage she's doing in an influencial role is doing more harm on the nation.

I also believe this idealistic criticism that he should never have had her in the cabinet in the first place is just fairy tale thinking. He needed some of the right wingers if he had to unite the party. She was his ticket to do that, at least until it got untenable.

Brilliant news to wake up to. She’s an odious shitstain.

Only problem is she’ll be back. GB News, a podcast, a column in a paper. Maybe even government again. Sad reality of it.

It's like WWE, Cameron''s music hits and JR 'byyee gawwwd, it's Camerrrron'

Bringing a remainer back in to become foreign secretary? ERG are going to be apoplectic

His policies have said otherwise, if he had any backbone, he would never have appointed her in the first place. His Government have been full of toxic stuff since he's been PM. The right wingers wanted Truss, once he got in, he should have set his own Cabinet and actually tried to improve things.

Again, incredibly idealistic if you consider the composition of his party and where they lean.

Like it or lump it, his first role was to unite the party and fix inflation. That's what he set his cabinet and policy around.

That would have been the case in a normal Leadership election, this is one where he just got in without the formal process. They weren't going to oust him because of the damage to the party so he should have used that to his advantage. Hiring Braverman 6 days after she had been sacked was one of the most stupidest things to do. It immediately tainted his premiership and everyone thought it's the same old Tories. Had he wanted right wingers, he could have appointed others.

This is my point. It's not a normal leadership, and braverman had a big following in the party. There were a lot that weren't pleased with her sacking and a lot of those were also sceptical of rishi. Bringing her back was an easy route toward uniting the cabinet.

Also his own policy was voted out of the conservatives. Even though it made far more sense than Liz Truss. That tells you that the party was so far gone in sense that it needed systemic fixing in terms of getting on one page, before actually looking like a machine that sings from the same hymn sheet

Im not conservative by the way but I think rishi had entered the hot seat in a no win scenario. Every decision and every move would have been laughed at. Such is the state of that party. It's all about a move which is lesser of all evils from here until conservatives lose the election

Yeah, she wanted the sack. Nasty lot.

A woman in the office, late 50s, is absolutely furious about Suella’s sacking. I knew she was conservative but given we work in a multi cultural team physically located in the same city centre office I had to divert her attention before she said what I knew she was suggesting. A 9am conference call saved her (and us) as the comments were starting to get genuinely concerning.

I’m sat opposite her now watching her stew

They live among us.

I've stopped celebrating them being sacked as some other cnut replaces them. They can make as much money once they're sacked so they just come in, make headlines, then profit from name recognition.

I would have thrown her just enough rope.

Who was the bigger cnut while in office, Priti or Suella?
It's like Hitler died and was replaced by a giant Mecha-Hitler with laser eyes, and ears that can track enemies for a thousand miles. Now we're moving on to the budget B-Movie version of Pretentious-Twat-Hitler. These monster movies are getting boring at this point...

How would that even work then? He'd need to be made a Lord and have some mouthpiece represent him in parliament? What could go wrong
Yep.

And conservatives are pissed because rishi Sunak is effectively saying that no one is competent enough. True as that may be it's still a risky move.

They just need to devour one of their own in parliament today, probably in one of the back offices, and then call a snap election. It would have to be somewhere really, really Tory like Liverpool or Glasgow. I'll send Rishi a list of suggestions.
