People think Villa are going to use the same tactics and not adapt after we eventually punished them at Old Trafford? Of course they'll change it up.

I bet they sit deep and look to draw us on them. They'll look to do the countering against glacial Maguire and probably Evans in defence.

I think at home they might not sit back.

Have you watched them this season? They've had worse defeats than the one at OT and never changed it.

I like playing Villa (other than wife being a Villa fan and causing some rows)… had some memorable games against them.

The 93/94 game (2-2) was one of the best games Ive seen in terms of two good teams going for it.

And this in the cup. The mental strength of a Ferguson team was ridiculous

Good luck today! May you be magnanimous after our victory!

    I'd play:

    Onana
    Dalot Kambwala Varane Shaw
    Bruno Casemiro Kobbie
    Amad Rasmus Garnacho

    EtH most likely:
    Onana
    Dalot Varane Evans Shaw
    Bruno Casemiro Kobbie
    Garnacho Rasmus Rashord

Why on earth would you drop Garnacho after a series of very good performances on the right?

because tough away game at Villa is a perfect opportunity to drop one of most in form players for a youngster who played 10 minutes this season, obviously?

The 93/94 game was 2-1 at Villa Park,Sharpe got a brace either side of a goal from Atkinson

There can be no more fecking about. Make the pass to the open man in the final third and hit the target. Do I make myself clear, Marcus?

You can create goals within seconds when you have Scholes pinging balls from the middle of the pitch with RvN up front. Very little build-up play is needed and you don't need to dominate possession.
Furthermore, when you have a team of winners who are used to winning and know how to win - the players simply won't accept defeat.
Most of the players from that era, could probably walk into our current team and immediately be the MVP. It just goes to show how low our standards have fallen.
A few years ago, many on here were raving about A. Martial. I wrote on this forum that he wouldn't even make the bench in 1999. Despite this, people were thinking that he is a star player of some sort. Unfortunatley, this mentality still persists with fans, hailing bang-average players as great players.
Most of our player roster, IMO, isn't good enough and should be sold.

I'm expecting a good (close) game today, but given that it is away, I think Villa will win. There'll be lots of goals in it though, that's for sure.

I read we have only lost three of our last fifty games against Villa. That's pretty insane.

Damn...I'm a stats man, but that took me by surprise.
In saying this, under ETH we do seem to be breaking all kinds of negative records.
I still think that Villa will get a narrow win. If it was at OT, I think we'd win, but as it's away, the odds would be in Villa's favour.

How did it work the first time? Shame that you seem to hate we’re doing better.
They were 2 goals clear at HT whilst at OT. One brilliant 45 minute displays (of which there have been very few this season) seen us beat a team that have been ahead of us in the league pretty much all season. I hate the fact they are doing better - and by some distance too. You do know it’s ok at accept we aren’t as good as them this season….you know that lad?

I’d settle for any performance better than that awful show in Emery’s first game for Villa last season. Less fixated on the CL other than it is a chance to attract better players to United in the summer.

Do they get a trophy for being above us with 14 games to go lad?

    Mason Mount back for this?
I think I speak for every United fan when I say that how little I know the answer to this question is only exceeded by how little I care.

I understand we all have PTSD, but the odds for this should be at least even. I hope I‘m not proved wrong.

Some good results for us this weekend except for Spurs last gasp winner.

You don't care if we have a really good footballer available for selection?

I would certainly imagine you are not speaking for all Utd fans there Pexbo.

Big match. If we want to entertain top 4 at all this is a must win. A loss and we are 11 points behind with 14 matches to go.

I predict a big game from Bruno. I can't prove this theory, but I believe when Bruno has adequate rest, he plays up to his capabilities.

The Spurs one was a real sickener. And was hoping Newcastle - our main rivals below us - might drop points having been pegged back twice away at Forest.

They were the big two for me, and both went wrong. West Ham and Brighton losing are the positives, but would have preferred Brighton holding out for a draw rather than Spurs' late winner, so even that wasn't 'good'.
