Everton vs Manchester United

I would go for:

Vds
O'Shea
Rio
Vidic
Evra
Ronaldo
Hargreaves
Scholes
Giggs
Rooney
Saha

Very unlikely that Rooney would start. There's only a small chance he'd be on the bench. And I'd rather have Brown at RB instead of O'Shea, with Saha and Tevez up front.

Yeah, I put that starting line up thinking that Tevez could come on when Rooney gets knackered, something tells me Roon won't even be in the squad though, Fergie doesn't like taking risks.

Yeah, rushing him back can prove disasterous. With Saha, Tevez and Ronaldo we should be able to do the job. We'd need a fit rooney for the Chelski match.

If Hargreaves, Fletcher and O'Shea are injured...

VDS
Brown Rio Vidic Evra
Ronaldo Scholes Carrick Giggs
Tevez Saha

hmm..Do you think Fergie will play Ronaldo upfront alongside Saha and Nani-Giggs wingers and Tevez on the bench?

------------Vds-----------
Pique-----Vida--Rio-------Evra
Ronaldo--Scholes-Carrick--Giggs
-----------Tevez-----------
------------------Saha----

No need to drop Brown, has'nt done anything wrong. Pique will have his time. If hargreaves was fit, i'd play him, so apart from Brown i'd agree with that side.

My squad:

GK: van der Sar

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Hargreaves
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Saha

bench: Kuszczak, Silvestre, Carrick, Nani, Rooney?.

got to keep out Yakubu, he has a habit of scoring against us.

Squad:
Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Evans, Pique, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Hargreaves, Giggs, Eagles, Tevez, Saha, Rooney, Nani, Anderson, Martin.

I'd play:
-------------VDS-----------------
Wes-----Rio---Vida-----Evra
Ronaldo--Carrick--Scholes--Giggs
-----Tevez---------Saha---------

Bench: PIG, Pique, Hargreaves, Nani, Rooney

"There's not a lot wrong with Owen," added the boss. "He trained well today (Friday). But I don't know whether we'll risk that against Everton. It's more likely he'll play in Lisbon on Wednesday."

Seem like Fergie still pondering whether to play hargreaves.

He will probably be more valuable in the Champions League game anyway. Thats what we bought him for. Carrick can have his start against Everton and should perform well.

Play the classic 4-4-2 line up from last season exchanging Tevez for Rooney and Brown for Neville.

Should do the job.

This is pretty ridiculous, the game at 12.00 for TV yet not being shown, least not in Ireland that I know of. And it only makes it worse that the Liverpool game is being shown instead.

Not rubbing it in but I'm getting it in the States on Setanta. That's screwed that you can't get it there.

Our first 3pm kick off looks to be Birmingham away, our 8th game of the season.

it is very rediculous indeed, especially considering it is the first game of the weekend, the game featuring the current champions of the league and the very simple fact that it is an English match not being televised in ENGLAND, while it is being televised in other places. At least Spain respected their own citizens by showing the matches of Barca and Madrid during that tv rights dispute during the first couple of weeks of la liga even if it meant it didn't get televised anywhere else.

It is kindda funny that us foreign countries are able watch pretty much every single game in the Premier League while you who actually live in England are restricted to a few matches a week.
I'd be pissed off.

It's the reason we drink so much. Probably.

i'd leave rooney and hargreaves off simply because we have such a great team without them. so why take the risk?

well that's what happens when you've got an audience with a great appetite for footy who're willing to pay as much as possible to watch them.

In economic terms, the demand for English footy amongst the English is so high, that cutting the supply will ensure more profits for the few companies able to provide that service in England under the new TV rights. It's the monopolization of the tv rights re footy matches in a football mad nation coupled with the force of capitalism, and you're the dream-land for money-hungry corporates willing to suck the life out of every penny they could get from the specific audience.

Is Nani injured?

I would play Ronaldo and Nani rather than Giggs. I think that when you have 2-3 players marking Ronaldo we will see a better Nani on the left once he gets the space. Giggs always cuts inside nowadays, so we dont get the width.

'Suspicious' package closes M62
A stretch of the M62 motorway in Merseyside has been closed following the discovery of a "suspicious package" on board a coach.
Police have closed the carriageway in both directions between junction five and junction seven.

Manchester United fans who are travelling to Liverpool for the match against Everton are being warned to take alternative routes.

It is not yet known how long the motorway will be closed.
