Wow so fast. Lets hope some of our injured players will be back for this match after the international break.

I prefer to not have the international break just when we have found our rhythm, but hope we continue a good performance.

I think its better for us now though this has happen with so many injuries to our players.

True.

It's always a confidence boost to finish with such a great win.

Agreed in 2 weeks hopefully all of Vida, Saha, O'Shea, Fletcher, Hargreaves and Brown should all be back fit and ready to go

Why is the Villa badge bigger than ours?

Leave the matchday threads to the experts, hycool.

This is one of the worst ones I've ever seen.

After the previous matchday thread it should be

Aston Viggers vs Manchester United.

0-1.

I hate the international break.

Me too but this time was a good time for the break, we are without important players and they may not be ready in one week so two weeks to rest is good for them

0-2. Another win for us.
Hopefully a few of the players will be back from injury

20 October... plenty of time to win with that injury storm.

Saha - his knee should be fine. He got the whole two weeks.
Hargreaves - his injury is difficult to heal but Sir Alex said he can be ready. He needs about 10 days.
Carrick - his arm needs about five weeks of a brake from football. But after two weeks he should be ready to perform light training.
Neville - Gary will have to play some matches in reserves, first. He'll be able to play from bench in 100%, but is he fit enough to play the whole match ?
Fletcher - No updates from him. His chances to return on Villa are about 65%.
O'Shea - his injury didn't looked, too serious.
Vidic - with his toughness he should be ready on 100%.

We can win this. While our midfield is attacked by many injuries, Scholes and Anderson did extremely well. Same credit goes to Pique and Simpson, good job lads.

You've got the same calculator Essien is using? I want one of those.

Yes they did but ask the same against Villa at their home is a gamble we cant take. Hope we get some players back for that game

Agreed, as welcome and as good as the win against Wigan was, we have to in its proper context.

Compare the attacking play, all-round mentality and higher quality of Villa.

Gareth Barry, Young and Agbonlahor to name but a few and are in decent form, will pose us no insignificant threat. Our defensive abilities and closing down of the opposition will be called upon to a level which we have rarely had need to rise to so far this season.

Then there is Martin O'Neill also.

What i'm saying is, don't underestimete Villa, nor overstate the second half against Wigan. We are still finding our form, for all that a 4-0 home win might suggest, and our defence has not been truly tested [which is unfortunate], though when pressed by the likes of Roma and Birmingham we have been exposed and lucky to escape with the clean sheet.

It would be a surprise if Fletcher was in the reckoning. And i have my doubts about Hargreaves, it won't serve anyone to rush him back.

O'Shea only had a dead leg, so unless something else happens will be ready, and i would like to see him start alongside Scholes in CM, proivde a needed defensive shield for the defence you could say.

Sorry for the scatter gun approach here, maybe i'll revise it down to just the one as i should be once we know where we stand after the internationals. :)

1-2 or 2-3

This is going to be a tough match....

but our defensive record will carry us through.. notwithstanding injuries

hopefully a 1-0 or 2-0 win...
