My Anderson Suprise

Nani was the architect behind 3 of our goals with 2 assists and one goal, if that doesn't deserve a mention then I don't know what will.
Picking a MOM is quite difficult though as they all complimented each other brilliantly and were all the reason behind our victory.

It was quite spectacular to see those very different players compliment each other as they did, each player added something unique to our attack with Carrick being the Calm, Fletch the Energy, Anderson the Spectacular and Nani the Effective.

Agreed. I was not impressed when i saw the lineup, but somehow they played together very well.

Dare I say, we varies our attack more with Ronaldo not playing? Even Park looked like he was enjoying it?

To the tune of She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain...with apologies to religious types

They should make him king of Heaven
Anderson, Anderson,
They should make him king of Heaven
Anderson...
‘Cos the whole midfield he bosses
And he isn’t scared of crosses
Like the Virgin fecking Mary
And her son
(Anderson!)

feck sake, I just spilt coffee all over my keyboard.

Must say that those last few lines there are quite special, Plech.

Today Anderson proved something of a point. Last Sunday I suggested that Scholes return to the first team had coincided with a down turn in form. Today with Anderson returned to the side we saw a return of the fluent and quick football we saw up until the Portsmouth game a couple of weeks back.

Anderson has a lot to learn and could do with some goals to his name, but right now he is adding that bit of pace to our midfield, that the likes of Carrick, Hargreaves, Fletcher and Scholes haven't got. In a couple of years, just like Ronaldo has done, his transfer fee we paid for him will look like pittance, we have an unpolished diamond here.....

Hargreaves is quick.

As I have said if adds goals to his game,we have potentially got one of the most complete midfielders ever.

I think the significance here is that Anderson is actually able to run at people from centre midfield. There are very few players around that do that and it's going to be so useful for us in the long term when we play against teams that pack the midfield.

did anyone else notice the look scholes had on his face when he was getting subbed on for anderson? It was an expression of 'that was a master display young padawan' if ever i saw one. very touching i thought.

And it's not just running at people, every now and again he jsut punts it forward and outsprints the whole team, he did it again against the Arse.

I would love it if we got a song for Fletch, hes a fecking legend.
Yes he is, not only for his play but for his committment to the club and training and believing in himself that he can play with great players and hold his own!

His all-round game is pretty good. His passing and energy is excellent and he's chipped in with a few goals in recent years. I wish folk would give credit to the lad, because he's blanked all the criticism out and got on with improving his game!

I'll round this off by saying - if we had to use Fletch in Champions League Final I wouldnt be too downbeat, he has been immense for us in every massive game i can recall in recent years and his energy to attack and defend gets my respect everytime

Nani seems to have got the Caf vote. The lad had a sensational game, he didn't even make my top three! I guess the difference between being at the match and watching it on TV may have factored. I doubt anyone at the stadium thought anyone other than Anderson was the stand out player of the game

i was at the match and you are spot on my friend

No you're right, there's a bit of a scansion problem in the Prime Minister line, I couldn't get round it...you have to pronounce it "Minster"

Unless it was "They should make him run the country"?

Cheers anyway gents...you can start it VW, I'll join in once at least three hundred other lads have...

They should make him fecking PM
Anderson...

Outstanding, btw. You, not him. Well, him as well, obviously.

When have you ever seen Fabregas so utterly dominated in the centre of the park? I'm suprised by the man of the match voting, I thought Anderson absolutely ran the show. The strength, the pace, just the sheer quality of the lad is sensational

.............
IF he had finshed 90 minutes. He would have been M.O.M hands down

They should make him rule the Yankees
Anderson, Anderson
They should make him rule the Yankees
Anderson...
Cos he's got a lot of talent
And he ain't a stupid cnut,
Like George Bush fecking Sr.
And his son
(Anderson!)

A lot of people are going to stand up and notice when one of these runs is converted.
Like i've already said, there will come a day when he'll realise that no-one can get near him. I can't wait for that day. :)

Where is the Anderson media wankfest? oh, he doesnt play for Liverpool or Arsenal.

I think once he starts to score a few he'll probably be a genuine contender for young player of the season. To be fair though, there have been a few columns this week that have praised his contribution.

Can't agree with this. My opinion, and one shared with the majority of the matchday crowd I'm sure, is that Anderson WAS the hands down man of the match anyway. But what difference would not playing the last 18 minutes make to that when the game is over at 3-0 and the opposition down to 10 men? He was the best player when the game was at the critical point of being won. A contribution during an effectively dead game at the end surely cannot compare

Key words.

I got home and watched the match again on TV and i'm pretty sure that had i not gone to the match, the best player on the field in my mind would've been Rooney. There are some things you see at the game that you simply do not see on television. Anderson was truly immense.

Yep, when your at the game you notice the movement, and impact Anderson had, it was the first time i'd seen him live.
I thought he was immense.

What we're saying is that the matchday crowd get the true picture of events, while the television watchers have aspects of the game masked from their awareness. Which makes the worth of the match goers opinion more valuable, although not necessarily correct (if one can have a 'correct' opinion on an issue of personal judgement)

He truely was immense though, best player on the park by some, in a game where many players had stormers. It's a shame TV watchers didn't get that impression then

I watched on telly and I was loving Anderson's performance.

But United played so well that any one of about 5 players could have got the plaudits... Anderson, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Rooney... even Evra.

Anderson is going to be, and already is, some player. What a signing.
