Robin van Persie reminds you of Mark Hughes??
Jesus wept.

Adebayor is better.
Van Persie is good, but he's nothing special. The tall Craig Bellamy.
They're both half decent strikers who will never be the next Henry, or even close. I'm not saying they're similar in playing style (one is tall and extremely left-footed, the other is short and has a very high level of impishness). He's the complete opposite of Craig Bellamy.

Fantastic player but has not had now, for two seasons I'd say, a run where he was free of injury for more than four games
I think if Robin had a a half a season of injury free, ever present football he'd be amongst the top five strikers in world football. Its arguable that had he been fit for most of last season we'd have got even closer to the title
I have a feeling in my bones that his body will, in the end, fail him
Nah, you're being ridiculous there. Rooney, Torres, Eto, Drogba, David Villa, and a few others are definitely on a upper tier of strikers. However, he is a very good player, but somehow the kind of player that nobody sympathised when injuries go against him. Says a lot about him really.

The rape comments are uncalled for and inappropriate.
Why not hand out infraction points?? You're good at that. Or is the subject matter not enough unless it is said by certain posters?
Bizarre stuff.
Clearly a quality, quality player, amongst the best in the division.
Yours is an opinion just like mine and this lad two years ago when Henry was leaving was on the threshold of being one of the worlds best strikers.
Big game player, can score against anybody, excellent close control and fantastic technique, powerful, aggressive and quick and a good instinct for the goal. That made him world class is my book
Without researching the statistics he has hardly played 5 games in succession since then and spent nearly all last season out.
Some of those above attributes have dropped off which given the circumstances is not surprising. Players need not only 'match fitness' but overall inner confidence which a proper consistant run in the side gives them and I dont mean 5 games I mean a season where they play 40 games out of 50.
If he gets that he'll be back no question about it.
Of the players you mention Rooney for starters is not even a striker par se although for me better than any of the others as a player, scorer and creater of goals.
Of the others Drogba and Torres are pure strikers and I'd certainly put van Persie amongst the rest no question
Nothing ridiculous about that
