Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

With our injuries and the possibilities of Tosic and Fabio getting their debut it makes me realise that football is a constant changing game and thats what I love about it.

Spurs should just forfeit the game, they clearly have no interest in winning it. ...
[I've edited this post because I made a mistake before: Defoe is in fact eligible.]

I don't think that's true. The team that plays will be a reflection of the fact that the following huge list of players are either ineligible or injured to the point where most (if not all) won't play:

Gomes, Hutton, Corluka, Woodgate, King, Dawson, Lennon, O'Hara, Palacios (ineligible), Jenas, Modric, Bent and Campbell (ineligible).

That's 13 players, the majority of which would normally be in our starting XI. It includes 4 of our our best back 5 (including the GK) and probably all of our best midfield 4. It leaves Spurs with just three players from our strongest XI: Ekotto, Defoe and Pavlyuchenko.

As bad as Man. Utd's list of missing players is, I'd venture that's it's nothing like as extensive.

Bloody hell. The idiocy of Scholesy knows no bounds. How does he even manage to wash or feed himself

Fabregas has been shocking this season, I think Modric just about edges it at the moment. Obviously Fabregas is the more proven and valuable talent.

We've got more injuries/doubts but less ineligible players.

Of course, the key to avoiding problems with ineligible players is to sort your squad out in the summer.

Here goes

vds

fletcher vidic neville o'shea

ronaldo scholes carrick tosic

berbatov tevez

That'll do ey?

Fergie won't rest Vidic - he'll want to win this one. I predict (not want, but predict):

--------------------------------VdS--------------------------------
Neville--------Vidic------------------O'Shea---------Fabio
---------------Carrick------------------Scholes----------------
Ronaldo---------------------------------------------------Tosic
-----------------Tevez------------Berbatov---------------------

Bench: Foster, Chester, Fletcher, Giggs, Gibson, Welbeck, Macheda

The problem here is that our entire left flank is untried and untested at this level. No way will SAF go for this - one of them will come on as sub for this to happen.

The strongest back four is undoubtedly fletcher, neville, vidic, & o'shea, but I don't think he'll go with that.

i'm with

VDS (because of weak back four)

neville vidic o'shea fabio

gibson fletcher scholes

ronaldo tevez

berbatov

Agree Glaston, hopefully we'll shaft your guys though.

Don't think it will happen, but I'd go for:

Foster,
O'Shea, Neville, Vidic, Fabio
Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs
Ronaldo, Berbatov, Tevez

Subs:- VDS, Chester, Eckersley, Scholes, Possebon, Welbeck, Macheda

I made a mistake listing Defoe as ineligible, when actually he's not. That makes things a little better for Spurs since, unless we choose to play with a 5-man midfield, he could start up front with Pavlyuchenko.

A cunning plan indeed

Why oh why oh why would you not put Neville at RB and O'Shea at CB??? Neville has looked dreadful at CB the last 3 or 4 times he's played there

think spurs will defo go 4 across the back and a very unadventurous rigid 5 across the middle. bent will be up on his lonesome. don't think he'll see much of the ball.
just got a feeling carrick will boss the show today. passes the ball so much better than fatty huddlestone
