Luka Modric

Finally some sense vuc, he was very good.

Ive never seen Fabregas perform like that against us, Modric is the better player.

Not yet he isn't. Fabregas has had 2 world class seasons with Arsenal and Modric has had 6 months in the Prem.

They're different players too but Modric has serious potential only a fool would disagree.

Agree.

Can't understand what so many people have against him. The only player in the Spurs team that worried me today.

Lennon was ok but you with him that he is much less dangerous than he looks.

Yeah he was pretty good.

Seriously though Scholesy, you're either deranged, Luka Modric, both, Eboue or a WUM. Better than Fabregas my hole.

I think Modric was played at his best position.A left wing role which gives him a lot more freedom than in central midfield. He looked creative and was among Spurs best players.

looks better on the left, due to the fact his complete ineptitude in playing in the middle is less visible

good, honest player - nothing special

He was better once he moved off the left wing role and started playing off Bent IMO.

If Fabregas played in central midfield against Gibson-Scholes he'd run the side ragged.

Exactly. FFS this Modric wankathon is a joke. HE WILL NEVER BE A GOOD AS SCHOLES! He cant play in a 2 man central midfield. Scholes can.

And as for being better than Fabregas? Cmon the feck, that's actually delusional.

Also never seen Fabregas play like that against us? Didnt catch the Arsenal match at home in the 2006/07 season then?

That said he is a talent. But cmon but your cocks away

Modric is a good player. He played well yesterday, very well. I can even see the comparison with Scholes. But vitally, Modric looks to be extremely slight of build and weak. Scholes, despite being short, is quite bulky and can hold his own in midfield.

He's an alright player - overrated but still decent. Wouldn't want him anywhere near United and you can see why none of the big clubs went for him.

Mainly because I feel we'd have to accommodate him. With Ronaldo and Berbatov in the team, we have our fair share of luxury players so with Modric playing out wide we'd need to play a specialist holding midfielder to cover which we don't currently have (unless you count Hargreaves). The other option is to play him off a striker but we don't need anyone for that.

I should add I don't think Modric is good enough to accommodate. I would change my mind about accommodating players if they were at a standard of Ronaldo, Messi et al.

It's his first season in the Prem. Nani is in his second season and I don't see at all that he's had more of an impact. The vast majority of managers, given the choice, would prefer to sign Modric over Nani.

Nani's hit and miss. Modric is just. . . well. . .er. . . miss.

Nani actually had a decent first year, its this season where he is suffering a bit and I suspect a lot of it is down to confidence. As for your 2nd point, I disagree. I think a lot of managers would prefer Nani because he works the flanks well, can handle the physical nature of the Premiership (which Modric is still adjusting to) and has shown more flashes of brilliance. You can play Nani on either side whilst you have to accommodate Modric which is the crucial point.

Anderson looked like ten times the player when he came on, yesterday.

I agree with the first part, don't agree with the second part.

Ability-wise, and actually making use of his ability, he's good enough for a top team.

Fair enough, I'm always open to change my mind. But I don't think he'll do it at Spurs.
