Fulham vs. Manchester United

This game can't come quick enough for me. I think we'll win, but it will be a struggle. Fulham will have seen how feeble we were yesterday and it will give them belief.

We're back to square one in terms of exorcising the last result and starting to play the way we should be after our spark has gone over the last few games

2-1 after going behind. The title run-in begins here

Van der Sar
O'Shea - Ferdinand - Evans - Evra
Ronaldo - Fletcher - Giggs - Park
Rooney - Berbatov
--
Subs: Foster; Eckersley, Fábio Da Silva; Carrick, Scholes, Nani; Tévez.

It's all about Dimitar Berbatov on Saturday.

Good line-up, don't know about Evra though, but probably you're right.

I don't know either. But to be fair, Evra hasn't been performing to his usual immaculate standards in recent matches and perhaps he is just knackered. I think one match off could do him the world of good. Additionaly, it would be great to see Fabio get a run.

Let's get a team on the pitch with a bit of balance. Let's have players playing in their proper positions.

VDS
Oshea-Rio-Evans-Evra
Ronaldo-Fletcher-Giggs-Nani
Rooney-Tevez

GK: VDS
RB: O'Shea
CB: Rio
CB: Evans
LB: Evra
RM: Ronnie
CM: Fletch
CM: Giggs
LM: Nani
S: Rooney
S: Berbatov

Thats the team I'm thinking will be released onto Fulham. If Neville, Fabio or Rafael is fit it would certainly be useful to rest Evra. Switching O'Shea to LB if Neville/Rafael is fit.

No Nani please. Our left side is too exposed when he play . I'd rather want him as an impact player coming off the bench if we're one goal down.

Why wasn't our rearranged game with Portsmouth set for this week?

I'm glad of the week break. I think the squad need it and hopefully they'll get some rest. then we can come out all guns blazing.

0-3. won't be easy but we need the win.

I don't think this game will be a walk in the park. Fulham will do their best to stop us from beating them again. They will know we are low on confidence and they will try and take advantage of that. Should be and excellant game, I would like to see Rooney and Tevez rip their defence apart again, but I think Fergie will go for Berbatov and Rooney. Either way I'm sure we will get the job done.

We need to win to raise confidence and keep Liverpool at bay.

Van der Sar
O'Shea - Ferdinand - Evans - Evra
Ronaldo - Fletcher - Giggs - Park
Rooney - Berbatov
--
Subs: Foster; Eckersley, Fábio Da Silva; Carrick, Scholes, Nani; Tévez.

It's all about Dimitar Berbatov on Saturday.

Good team, and yes I agree. Dimitar Berbatov to fecking score, come on Berba.

I think Evra needs a break. VDS could sit out one match. Fletcher needs to play, he is underused. Carrick needs a break. Bring back in Berbatov for this match, it would suit him. I would play:

B.Foster

J.O'Shea R.Ferdinand J.Evans Fabio

C.Ronaldo D.Fletcher R.Giggs Ji-Sung Park

D.Berbatov W.Rooney

Subs:
Edwin Van Der Sar
Patrice Evra
Michael Carrick
Anderson
Nani
Paul Scholes
Carlos Tevez

I'll take it although I'm not sure Foster should be used but seeing as we have an FA Cup game coming up after my bet is on Foster.

I hate waiting a week for this match. I want to get Saturdays result out of my head as soon as quickly.

0-3

we're not low on confidence - just a bit jaded the other day against a well rested side that are normally very "energetic":smirk: anyway

-------------------- Foster --------------------

- Fletcher --- Ferdinand ---- Evans ------- Evra / fabio-

- Ronaldo -- Anderson------ Giggs------ Nani --

------------Rooney------ Berbatov ------------

PIG
Patrice Evra
O' Shea
Park
Paul Scholes
Tevez
Carrick

2 - 1, with tevez to come on for rooney, park to replace nani and scholes on for giggs..... tevez and giggs to score.

Why are all of you putting Scholes on the Bench? Hes practically not played much football in over a week. I think he will start. We need some experience and he's the man to settle our side right from the start.

If scholes starts, then we will win 5-0. Just to make a point to the other teams that just because we lost against pool that we are not running out of steam.

Subs: Kuzczak, Carrick, Giggs, Tevez, Anderson, Ecksersley, Fabio
Prediction:2-1 win with goals from Rooney, Berbatov

94 hrs to go.

I don't know about you lads but I can't feckin wait for this match.

Tell me about it, I'm climbing the walls waiting for it. This week just seems to be dragging in. After that defeat to the dippers, I've been impatiently waiting for this match and time doesn't seem to be moving quick at all. I just want us to win and get going again, hopefully getting ourselves on a winning run again :)

Charlton: Reds will recover

Sir Bobby Charlton says United's 4-1 loss to Liverpool could well be a blessing in disguise.

The last time the Reds lost so heavily at home was on New Year's Day 1992. But despite Saturday's poor performance, Charlton is still confident United can win an 18th league title.

"It wasn't a result anybody at United could be proud of, but you have to say Liverpool played well and deserved to win," Charlton said.

"It's a bit of a blow to lose four goals at home, especially as it hasn't been done for so many years.

"There's been a bit of pride hurt, but I don't think Sir Alex will have to work too hard to rejuvenate the players."

Prior to Saturday's match, United hadn't lost in 16 games in all competitions. This record, Charlton says, may have added to the pressure before Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford.

"I think there was a little bit of stress because we kept winning matches," Charlton said. "[This result] helps to maybe turn the gas down a ltitle bit. A lot of pressure's eased now. I'm hoping we're going to do better because of this result.

"Sir Alex will make sure the players get their confidence back. Getting to the end of the season, all matches are important. When the next one comes along [against Fulham at Craven Cottage] on Saturday I'm sure he'll be ready for it."

Wise words from a wise man.

I know, it's funny.

Two weeks ago: United are on course for the Quintuple, who can stop them??
Now: Liverpool have exposed United's weaknesses for everybody else to see and taught all the other teams how to go about them. United are cracking up!!

Typical English press, don't they do that with pop stars and other celebrities too ? Build them up too high just to knock them down.

I agree with this. Cant believe anyone saying Fabio should start this game. Knee to the jerk :wenger:
