Manchester United vs Aston Villa

We've had three weeks of miserable results, don't think I could take another one today. Can't say that team feels me with much optimism.

Also Lot 49 in the CC those goals were mistakes by the defence because they lost concentration (we were always winning by a goal lead at any time) in a PS game i dont think that would happen. I mean compare Fulham in the cup game compared to Fulham in the league game

relax the lot of you. we have quality all over the pitch. we are at home. we should be ok

Poor baby.

People are really overdoing it. It's a stronger side than Villa have, AND a better defense (it really is), AND we're at home.

Calm.
The.
feck.
Down.

Hopefully Nani can deliver some balls into the box, Ronaldo coming off the Left wing to head them in, Fletch playing box to box and Giggs and Carrick pulling the strings. Tevez will be Tevez come united

Who the hell would you people rather play than O'shea and Nevile ? Two of our most experienced players and O'shea has been a godsend with some of our injuries this season

Look at that bench. Hope we get to see some of them come on in a winning situation.

Oshea has pace compared to Neville, Young will knock the ball and chase it. So i will ask again, Neville vs Young or Oshea vs Young?

Agbonlahor is even quicker than Young so if I was really worried about Neville being up against pace I wouldn't want him playing CB like today.

Of course you could always say Neville can mark Carew but seeing as he's giving away about a foot in height that's just as much a recipe for disaster.

Bottom line is Neville shouldn't be playing CB, he's always dodgy there and it was awful last time he partnered Evans.

Today is a big day for Nani. I just hope he realises that

I am. He's been solid for the last 4 months for us in a variety of positions he's been asked to fill.

totally agree. cant stand the amount of shit O Shea gets on here. he's been one of the real success stories of this campaign.

ps. interesting bench sharky

okay - does anyone collate the stats for the match rating threads after each game....what do you think his average rating has been?

I agree he's good to have in the squad, playing in positions and being back-up when we are thin on the ground...but him on the teamsheet makes me as nervous as hell....occassional back-up player at best IMHO, but 30+ games already this season :nervous:

I'd go with 7. I genuinely can't think of many games he's been below par this season, apart from the ones where the whole team has.

Ha! Agbonlahor can run all he likes but imo he is no where near as skillful as Young on the ball, Agbonlahor is likely to play on the left anyway and vs Evra its going to be about even. And who would you rather have in defence? Lets give our youngesters a try or bring Vidic on...

yes in a defense that did not concede a goal for a record period of time

He'll get a lot of bashing regardless of how well he plays. Hopefully he plays well anyway.

Well if he gets a assist or goal then it'll be good for his confidence and the fans will have some faith in him. If he plays like how he has in previous game i actually fear he may get booed...

I believe it'd be muchh lower than that, I've seen him get 4s and 5s quite regularly

anyhow, enough of that - back to the game, need as much positive energy as possible

KERM ONNN UNITEDDDD
:devil::devil:

Reminds me off the West Ham game last season (2nd to last game of the season)....

I've seen some toss arguments used on net forums but I think using the average rating from the match rating thread is a new low:lol:

Do you think this is a better indicator than the clean sheet run we went on with JOS as an almost ever present or the fact that SAF has been picking him week in week out over the last four months? Our defence has been the best part of our team this season, no one can doubt that and JOS has featured regularly in that. Sharky is right, he has been one of our most consistent players this season.

Can we please at least finish the game with all 11 of our players on the pitch, even if we go one down lets not panick and give up the game in one incident.

Hope the young striker gets on scores and scores a hat trick,a young player wankfest is just what the doctor ordered for redcafe.

In a season where not only are we in a position where we can go on and win an unprecedented amount of trophies, but also a season where we've relied heavily on our defence because our attack has been off key.

I don't see why he makes people nervous still (and I hope I'm not forced to eat those words by the end of the game).

In what way? We were playing a West Ham team with no motivation whatsoever.

Parallels, West Ham was a must win game because we lost to chelsea the week before. Many were scared our boogy team would come back to haunt us. But we flew out of the traps in that game and got a few early goals... I just hope it starts that way today

But why does he have to be skillfull? You were complaining that Young would just knock the ball past Neville and run, Agbonlahor doesn't have great technique but he can do that just as well as Young

And Agbonlahor won't be the left as Young will be there, Milner on the right.

I'd rather have Neville RB and O'Shea CB, Neville is a better RB than O'Shea and while O'Shea is pretty average at CB at least he has the height to deal with Carew and Agbonlahor who both tower over Neville.
