other then there 2nd goal was after a clear foul on evra and the ref let play run on
We should have learned after Bayern. We wouldn't leave our best takers out of it was a cup final, so why do it here?

Carrick's was good, Giggs kicked his down the middle (poor), Evra passed the ball back Cech in one the weakest penalties you will ever see.

Why do our strikers/midfielders not have the bollocks to take penalties and allow defenders like Evra, Rio to take them. If Scholes, Owen can't take penalties why are they on the pitch

not to bothered with the result. we always looked dangerous going forward and we were missing a few key lads. Chelsea did play a bit better and im sure they will win a ton of games this year but at the end of the season we will be there again.
i wouldn't read into the penalties too much. we were better over 90 mins. destroyed them 1st half. a lesser team would have been 4-0 down at half time. good pre-season performance imo.
I think the ref is a dickhead. He saw what ballack did. It was a blow to the head. You're meant to stop the game - feck advantage. No common sense.

Working nights so only watched the last few mins , but I cant say the result really bothers me.

Even though two go in for United, didn't see much difference from front to back than the Barca CL final. Shit at the back, shit in the middle, and terrible at connecting in the opposition box. Mostly the fault of the midfield with horrendous touches results in giveaways that should be happening.

Don't mind losing a game fair and square, but to lose to cheats is a bit galling....
Well we lost a community shield ... thats it ... I would not take much onto it.. We have always been slow starters..... so its a good thing.. the team looks good now.. The real thing starts next week.. We shouild easily push around the smaller teams.. but the midifield makes me a lil worried when we play somebody like Chelsea.. we look too light weight

We always seem to put out some odd penalty takers in this competition. I think last year Rio took one for some reason.
I think we look at it as some shooting practice for some of the players who don't get many shooting chances during the season. So they know what it feels like to have to shoot and score infront of the big crowds.

That's a bit of an overreaction. We were all over them in the first half and much the better team but Fletch can only do so much on his own in midfield. Carrick was mediocre once again - unable to contribute either going forward or in front of defence
Rooney equalizing was class...and the ref is a whoreson.
