Remember guys - at the start of last season Barcelona were notorious because they created chance after chance after chance and yet failed to take any of them. Seriously, newspapers started to mock them relentlessly for it.

You make your own luck in football. What's obvious from our first few matches of the season is that we lack firepower. Once Berbatov and Owen get off the mark they won't stop scoring. The first is always the toughest.

Im just a little bit concerned. I dont know how we are not ahead. Must improve our finishing in the second half and start taking these chances. The longer it stays goalless from us, the more the frustration will grow. Its been a decent performance so far but we must be quicker, braver and more clinical in front of goal. The first goal will probably decide this game and we must get it.

So much of the ball and the build up play has been so good at times, then just in the final third someone makes the wrong decision or takes a heavy touch, or isnt ruthless enough with the finish.
We need to buy a left sided midfielder for sure though, Nani isnt mature enough to be relied upon out there for the whole season.

Giggs does that better than Anderson.
That would be the best, but SAF will opt for experience and bring Giggs, I don't know why he has started going for so much experience lately.

Fletcher did really poor to finish that backpass from Nani, Rooney's finishing is still awful and Berbatov should be more aggressive in the tackle and runs (eg. that latest bramble tackle).

Can't understand with the quality of players we have why we just can't score. I would take 1-0 right now and it shouldn't be like that. Its not just this new season it was last season too. We never look like were going to put 4 or 5 past anyone any more.

I agree Gibson or Giggs for Scholes. Not that Scholes has been shocking, but I'd back them to get a goal or assist today.
Let's miss a few more and win the treble then.
I say if Ferguson is happy with the squad we should believe him. We aren't playing badly - but Rooney and Berbs really need to make every chance count...at least test the goalkeeper
I think this could have been our best first half at Wigan ever. (It's only our fifth, and we're usually a bit crap in the first halves there, if I'm not mistaken.)
Scholes is not playing too badly..though how he did not score then I don't know. Still he is aware he is only a card away, should be replaced by Gibson imo.
Penetration...much better so far than against Birmigham...I did not see the Burnley match..thankfully, so I must assume this the best we have been so far.

that's a bit harsh. wigan has managed to get some touches on balls that were destined for the goal. they're doing their job. United has to keep hammering on them.
