Arsenal vs. Manchester United

My Guess for Arsenal

Almunia

Sagna
Gallas
Vermaelen
Clichy

Fabregas
Song
Denilson

Nasri/Rosicky
Bendtner
Arshavin

Only question mark I'd have is over Bendtner's match fitness, probably you'd see Arshavin move inside and Nari and Rosicky start.

I have a feeling this will be a humdinger with some fantsatic football. I hope Le Arse play an attacking strategy as I think we will then win the game on the counter attack. Valencia should be fresh and he will do alot of damage as can Nani if he can carry on his rediscovery of form.

1-3 to us.

Looks like a much more solid defence, its the midfield that is weak and where we should win the game unless Wenger packs it with 5 and plays a much more defensive containing strategy. We need the win more than they do given we have played more games.

I don't think Arsenal will be as easy to hit on the counterattack as City were. Their three man central midfield doesn't exactly make them vulnerable to it.

Brown------Vidic-----Evans-------Evra

Valencia----Carrick---Fletch-------Nani

-----------Rooney----Berbatov--------

subs: PIG, Rafael, Fabio, Giggs, Park, Diouf, Owen.

My impression is that Fergie is worried that after the City victory the players will relax a bit and enter the Arsenal game not fully focused - maybe that's why he is stressing about importance of the game ("biggest game to date etc)

On paper it looks solid, but an injured Vermaelen could prove a greater liability than either Campbell or Silvestre and if he is playing injured it does give them a vulnerability. As for the midfield in last seasons a Song-Fabregas-Diaby midfield dominated United, you have Song for Diaby, maybe Arshavin for Walcott and it's not hugely different from the one that lost this corresponding fixture, while if you look at United you've got Valencia for Ronaldo and maybe Fletcher for Anderson, Wenger will probably resort to similar tactics as last season.

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Silvestre, Clichy, Walcott, Fabregas, Denilson, Nasri, Diaby, Bendtner.
Subs: Fabianski, Toure, Vela, Ramsey, Song Billong, Wilshere, Djourou.

Man Utd:Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Anderson, Carrick, Park, Rooney, Berbatov.
Subs: Kuszczak, Giggs, Nani, Rafael Da Silva, O'Shea, Evans, Tevez

How big a loss do you think Diaby is? Certainly not as big a loss as Ferdinand is!

Van Der Sar

Brown - Vidic - Evans - Evra

Valencia - Fletcher - Carrick - Nani

Berbatov - Rooney

I'd like that lineup, but can't see it happening. It'll be 4-5-1/4-3-3 for sure. It's away and and against a three man midfield, would be seriously surprising if SAF plays a 4-4-2.

it will be 451, well thats what i think

who will get the nod for them sol or silvestre

Current Betfair odds:

Arsenal win: 2.68
United win: 2.96
Draw: 3.4

Hopefully Rio won't be missed...

-------------VDS

Brown-Evans-Vidic-Evra

Fletcher-Carrick-Anderson

Valencia-------------Nani

------------Rooney

Same midfield that taught them a lesson in the emirates last season in the semis of the CL. This time a on form Rooney in the "CL Ronaldo" role. The match should have ended 0-3 but Rossetti is blind apparently.

Manchester United Squad

Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Park, Nani, Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Gibson, Anderson, Giggs, Rooney, Owen, Berbatov, Diouf

Starting 11

--------Van der Sar

--Brown Vidic Evans Evra

--Fletcher Carrick Anderson

Valencia--------------Nani
----- -----Rooney

Subs
Kuszczak
Rafael
Fabio
Park
Giggs
Owen
Berbatov

Let's hope we dominate them in midfield but also provide plenty of support up front. There has been a lot of discussion about the formation but the players can make a 4-5-1/4-3-3 work if they perform.

We can destroy them if the ref lets the game be played like a man's game and our players get in their faces.

Going to be a tough tough game if Fletch gets called for every little touch.

Vidic
Evra

Carrick
Fletcher
Anderson

Valencia
Nani

Rooney

SUBS: Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Scholes, Giggs, Berbatov, Owen.

That's one hell of an 18! (And I'd love to see Fergie go 4-4-2, however, I just can't see it)

Yeah, I'd go with that, subs and all.

The draw's the value there, I'd price it 6/4 Arsenal, 2/1 the draw, 3/1 Man Utd.

Please let me know if there's a bookie that would offer 3/1 United.

I don't think Sir Alex will play Berbatov like I said against City, too much is riding on this.

Is Fergie going to stick with the 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation, or 4-4-2 if Giggs and Scholes don't start?
VDS
Rafeal-Vidic-Evans-Evra
Carrick-Fletcher
Valencia Nani
Rooney - Berbatov

I really do think we can steal all three points if we turn up and want to win, ala City on Wednesday night.
Berbatov needs to play well!

You may be right mate, but I sincerely hope not - he has been just rubbish of late. Rafeal does play with some confidence, even if he is not the best RB we have.

But by playing right back, he'll be playing in his more natural position. He can cover at centre back if absolutely urgent, but that's not his best position.

Does anyone know of any Unitedp ubs in North London that will be showing the game?

This is a pivotal one in terms of the title race, not a must win, but certainly one that will be great to win

I think it's pretty simple. If Cambell starts in the middle of their defense, Rooney will destroy him.

Song will play in central defense if Vermaleen doesn't play regardless of what Whinger has said.

My impression is that Fergie is worried that after the City victory the players will relax a bit and enter the Arsenal game not fully focused - maybe that's why he is stressing about importance of the game ("biggest game to date etc)

Thought something similar, although I remember it as him saying biggest game of the season. Which I took as an attempt not just to get the squad up for it but also to throw a wrench into Chelsea's works.

I can't see why we're taking Scholes out after he had such a lovely game Vs Mancity. This is a typical Scholes game and we certainly need him to unlock their weakened defense. I'd put Scholes in the hole behind Rooney and put Valencia on and take off Nani.

Because he's played 160 odd minutes in the last week and stamina isn't his strong point really. I'd love it if he started but I think don't it's going to happen.

is what were likely to see

i think this is possible.

but i have a feeling that park will satart. giggs wont so its between park and nani. park will get the nod in my opinion as we need some backup on the left.

hopefully vidic will make it.

im shitting it to be honest. a win could push us a little bit, and give us a needed boost.
