Everton v Manchester United

Can't believe we lost here today

What can't you believe? I wasn't expecting this to be a walk in the park today. Not after playing in a tough midweek European match, and also because Goodison is a tough place to go. Chelsea lost there just recently also. I thought if we were gonna win, we could make sneak it 2-1 with a tight win but it just wasn't to be.

Pure shite from the lads today, the best thing about the match from our point of view was probably Neville's crossing which was brilliant. Berbatov was playing decent enough I thought, why take him off?

Have not played so badly, but being killed by that central defence. Brown cannot be relied upon and Evans is in the worst form of his career so far.
Rio's stupidity, and whatever injury Vidic has, has cost us points and maybe the league.
We'll be better from now on with the first choice back four back in place, but 4 points gap could be a killer.

Early kick off after big CL game. Hate them.

I understand if Berba needed to be subbed if injured or something, but why not bring a striker for him.

I think United were just tired to be honest, especially after all the preparing for the Milan game and then actually going there and back to play them. Rooney definitely looked tired, and because of that it took the motivation out of the entire team.

Maybe Berbatov and Owen should have started today, to make the team realize that they would have to work harder and play more as a team. And not just rely on Rooney

Everton easily the better team today, United didn't deserve anything out of the game.

And enjoy it while it lasts Everton, I don't think Rodwell will be playing for you next season. I can see him moving to Arsenal or Liverpool to be honest with ya.

no need to be bitter.

European away hangover.

The only players who looked slightly good (Berbatov, Neville and Valencia first half) were the ones who didn't start in Milan.

6 defeats, not good but not the end of the world. Only one really tough away match now against City. Chelsea still to come to OT.

Berba was injured by the looks of it.

No need for giving up already. Personally I feel we have done well to still be in the race in the first place having gone most of the season without Rio and Vidic. Losing to Everton away is not the end of the season for us.
It's tougher, sure, but the fat lady's nowhere to be seen just yet.

Maybe but she's clearing her throat. We've just given Chelsea and significantly arse a huge boost. Chelsea have a tough run in and ours is ok but arse could come through now.

We shouldn't even bother taking corners.

This. Which is why I don't understand Evans wasn't taken off. He was poor and Vidic would at least given us a threat for set pieces.

Poor day at the office.

And yes Evra needs a fecking break. Why the hell he wasn't rested against Pompey I have no idea. He looked shattered at the end.

already 6 losses, how are we going to win the title? :(

still Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool at home along with City away, can we stay unbeaten in those matches?

Yep. Evra was poor today

This United side reminds me of Liverpool. Capable of beating anyone but not just consistent enough to win a league title.

Come on Evertons a hard place to go as Chelsea found out last week. I still believe we are more than capable of going on a run till the end of the season to win the title, we just looked jaded today

Umm that the tactics worked well 4 days ago against more tougher opposition, but no that wasnt in SAF's mind when he made the switch. I heard it was done just to piss you off
:confused:What are you on about? So you think we did well after going to 4-5-1 with 25 min to go?
And just because we beat Milan with that system, does that mean we cannot think it was the wrong thing to do?

that was a very poor performance today. Again with about 12 corners there was not one of them caused everton a problem. Obertan was ver disapointing when he came on and Rooney never does well at goodison. And Carrick was piss poor in the last few mins with his dead balls. Feckin annoying.

its only another game and we must hope that the others around us drop points today.

But thats it now...there is simply no margin now for error!!

We looked quite impotent with Rooney off form.

We have plenty of players who do their job efficiently (Park, Fletcher, Carrick etc), but only one real match winner.

Shit result but it wasnt all that bad a performance. You have to give Everton some credit cause they really did well. That said it wasnt a fortunate run of game. The goal from bilyaletinov (or so) was a one off and at 1-1 it was only a question who will score and that team will win it. We werent lucky and not good enough to dominate a very good team today but we werent completely shit imo.

they outmuscled us in midfield and Rooney was affected by his return there. If Phil Neville had not intercepted that chance, we would have won.

Still its only 4 behind Chelsea assuming they win today, and they don't look invincible.

All credit to Moyes and Everton. They played this well.

still lots of football to be played.

It's easy to sit here and say this because we've just been beaten and people are maybe a bit down or gloomy but I can't see us going the rest of these matches unbeaten. I think we'll beat Spurs at home, but Chelsea and even Liverpool will be tough (they've had our number in recent matches). City away will be very tough.

bad performance at the office, put it behing us now long way to go in the title race and we've got a big week ahead.

sorry, still learning ;) only been promoted from the Newbie section:D

 no need to apologise mate. say what you want!!

Im just saying, Everton deserved to win, they are a classy team. Oh, and I think SAF has Rodwell clearly on his radar ...

And welcome to the mains

Because people like you are so flickal, yes it didnt work too well today but when it does work it works a treat so whats the point of blasting the decision when it gets us results in other instances? i mean blast a system even if its working if you hate it but dont put it all down to the reason we lost.

Everton played better than us for a lot of the game - even towards the end of the first half where we were playing a 442 and they started the second half quite well too, give them some credit, blame some of our players who didnt show up. Dont blame it all on the system we used
