My poor horsey was the one I'd had pretty much since the start, he even saved me from certain death 5 minutes before we fell off a cliff.

A cougar killed that one for me, it was a sad time, but then I went and got a new one, which is even better :D
 
Wicked, just lost about an hour of progress because I was running across the wilderness back to the savepoint, came across a criminal being chased by the law, got out my gun to help and it automatically trained it on the closest person - a copper. Thus meaning they instantly shot me dead, within a second, and I had to restart from ages before.

Brilliant. Why can't it have a quicksave feature, like every other game in existence?
 
feck sake, it's just frozen again and my xbox is nearly brand new.
On the Mexican train mission with the Gatling gun, right at the fecking end as it cuts to the cut scene and my controller goes on a vibrate spasm and the screen freezes, however the sound continues, helpful.

all of the missions and challenges and stuff you do will still be saved.
 
Yeah there's an autosave feature, CD.
 
Wait, so, when I die I go back to the last place I saved it, but I keep all the progress and stuff from before I died? What about stuff I've looted - I guess I lose that?
 
It just takes you back to the last place you saved, not actually restarts. After every mission, it autosaves. Every time you hitch a horse, it autosaves. Every time you do a random mission for a blue dot stranger, it saves.

You shouldn't lose anything at all, at least i haven't and i've died tons of times. Have you actually checked your inventory before and after dying?
 
There are loads of bugs and glitches, just like GTA. I fully accept these, because these games are pretty ambitious and obviously the pros far outweight the cons. But some stupid glitch just cost me a mission that I'd spent 30 minutes doing. So I slaughtered every living thing within a mile to teach the game a lesson.



One thing I don't quite understand yet, I can go anywhere without being accosted by the old bill, yet randomly a posse will hunt me down, despite having done nothing wrong. So there is a bounty out on me...but only every now and again? Why isn't the law interested in me if I have a bounty on my head??
 
I'd guess the reason is the same as why there are wanted posters up rather than a small army of sheriff's chasing after every crook.

There's not that many people about the place if you haven't noticed, and a lot of crime. With the limited man power the law has of course they can't chase you constantly, especially if you keep killing those that do come after you.
 
I just had the strangest glitch, I was in a gunfight and for some reason got flung ridiculously high in the air. I was still able to shoot people, the controls remained the same as if I was on solid ground. But I was still falling aswell, and died when I landed.

And another I had. I was playing poker and the table disappeared, and the other players seemed to turn into basic block type characters. I still won though, gotta love the elegant suit :D
 
Roughly, how many hours have you put in in order to make it to Mexico?

Went down to get this half an hour ago and it was sold out everywhere I tried, including ASDA. Therefore it's only fair to blame Elvis for this.

You suck Elvis, as does ASDA.
 
I was riding alongside a train on my horse the other day and for some reason my horse and the train became one. It somehow just became glued to the side of it while I was sitting on it. :lol:
 
But.. and heres my current dilemma.

I have recently started and am in the extremely long process of buying a house. Money is ok, but I am such a vain git, I am seriously considering buying an iPad. Why? Because its so pretty and fecking cool.

But I wasnt drawn into BioShock 2, I have completed Alan Wake twice, World Cup is a bit nothingy now.. and I need a computer game really. Is this one really this good that I let go of cash that could be put towards mortgage/iPad?
 
Theres been other games, but those are the most recent 3. I am really trying not to crack out Mass Effect 2 again, but now my American Football season has started, I get all my sport fix from that for now!

I'm loving the poker and blackjack mini games, can't get my head round 5 finger fillet :lol: my fingers have definitely seen better days
 
Yeah 5 finger fillet is piss easy now, I've just started doing missions for Luisa. I've spent most of my time in mexico flower picking and treasure hunting so far.

Big fan of the side missions, love 'em.
 
I'm having a bawl on free-roam at the moment. I've taken siege inside the Chapel just outside Blackwater....picking off the law with my bolt-action and any that try to get inside feel both barrels of my shotgun! :devil:
 
Im becoming a bit of a hunter really, not just for the Master hunter challenge, I just went on a bear hunt (:D), I find it's the best way of earning money, Wolves, Bears, Cougars and Bobcats get you a lot of money if you skin lots of them then go to the stores. I currently have 2.5K and I'm trying to get the achievement for 10K :lol:
 
I haven't sold anything for ages, i've probably got loads of wolf things as i found an area near one of the treasures where there was a pack of about 10 of them.

Having a hard time finding racoons and i still haven't seen a single fox yet. I'm guessing they're up north.

Travel East from Fort Mercer till you get to the cliff edge and you should find fox around there. Watch out though, it's cougar country too. Also, foxes are nocturnal, don't forget.

Raccoon can be found North of Armadillo.
 
Just completed the Story, I think, been well impressed with this game :D
 
I found it took a while to get into the single player story, but round about the 20% complete mark (around about when you meet the gravedigger guy, think he's called sid) the story all comes together, and I got really addicted.
 
The online is brilliant :lol: even if the auto aim is a bit ridiculous.

The duels at the start are just comedy gold.
