Red Dead Redemption

Just finished the main story. I don't know what the fuss is about in regards to the ending. There was nothing wrong with it....

John goes down in a blaze of glory and his son takes on his father's role and avenges his death. What's the problem?

I finished with Hero & Legend status and have 98.3% completion but from what i can tell i have nothing left to do. Maybe i missed one of the criminal hideouts or something.

Once i have 100% i'll be starting again and going down the evil path i reckon.
 
I thought I had finished it. So I just checked some of the spoilers. I haven't. feck.

I figured you just gayed it up on the farm for all eternity. I switched off during the crow shooting escapade.

The requirement is to do one at each of the locations (not the town where the poster is....the location of the criminal) i think....but yeah, this is probably what i'm missing. It's going to be a bitch to suss out where i need to accept the job.

I had to do all the hideouts in the US within 24 game hours to get the Bureau outfit. That was pretty easy. Now i'm 98.8% complete.
 
Wicked. Because I'm an idiot I went on a killing spree, got killed, automatically reappeared at my last save point and because I wasn't thinking accidentally clicked on the bed and saved the game rather than loading the last one... which means my playthrough has been utterly ruined.

Excellent.

I'm such a moron. Oh well, I'm not clawing back twelve hours of gameplay!

Its the fact you play the whole game and then change character once completed

Sign up to the rockstar social club, link your accounts and it'll tell you what you have to do to reach 100%, it has a checklist which'll mark off as you do it :)

Once i have 100% i'll be starting again and going down the evil path i reckon

Already done so. The 100% page is down....for me anyway. Is yours Boothy? - EDIT: Never mind, it was down earlier but is back up now. It seems to be way behind though....it's saying i haven't done lots of stuff i have. Maybe it only updates every 24hrs.

Everywhere I've been to get this game have said the same thing, it'll be another week at least for the next delivery :(

Really? My friend ordered it from Play.com last Saturday and got it on the Wednesday. Play.com are usually better than that, but it just shows the demand - but it's better than waiting a week.
 
So whats more fun/worthwhile, evil or good?
I was thinking of being somewhere in between but I might miss out on some of the fun going down that route.

Getting this as soon as Gamestation ring to say they've got new stock in!
 
Great game and great ending.I don't know if I have the courage to finish at 100% since I just got boring things to do to get there.
Special mention to the guys who worked on the dialogues/audio at Rockstar once again cause it's always been my favorite aspect of the game.John Marston is a legend and has become part of all time favorite video game characters.

I have no idea why it's doing that to you. Unless you're ignoring all missions, sidequests, buying things from shops etc.

After you do a mission it saves, for it not to you must have turned off the autosave function. I've never had it make me lose the progress of any missions let alone a couple behind. Once you die it does not send you all the way back i don't know how yours makes it happen. After a mission look in the top left corner of the screen, if it doesn't have a black background and say saving then your autosave is turned off.

Although you do lose items you've got from skinning etc i've found out, i rarely go long enough doing that for it to become an annoyance.
 
Finished it properly now. Not sure how I feel about the ending.

I wish they hadn't killed John off. :(

This game is so good, I will likely start a new game sometime in the near future. Only this time, I am going to be a complete cnut.

I tried to do the same thing with InFAMOUS but I became bored quite quickly. That won't happen with this.

The problem is, the new voice sounds utterly feminine compared to the old voice. That and you look like a giant pooosae compared to before.
 
It does start slowly. Also, I found that sitting down for an hour or so at a time lessened my enjoyment. I think you need to have a 3 or 4 hour session to really immerse yourself in it.
 
meh...I'm a bit bored with it so far, though I am playing it quite sporadically to be fair....I can see how easy it is to get into, but nothing is fecking happening...If I wanted to play a cattle herding game I would've bought a cattle herding game...if there is such a thing, which I'm sure there is
 
Just completed it, tbh I think they could have put alot more effort into making it it's own game, to me I was just playing GTA in a different environment, felt like I'd seen it all before about 4 times.

I like the online though, great crack if your playing with mates.
 
That's always the problem though, how do you make a realisticish sandbox game your own without it being compared to GTA?

Personally i thought it was a lot more like Gun than GTA, even had very similar sidequests and an obsession with a Gatling gun.
 
I thought it beat the shit out of GTA. Similarities, obviously, but I actually cared about the characters in RDR.

I could just gallop around on my horse and be entertained (especially in Tall Trees). It's definitely one of my all time favourite games.

I kept mine all the way to Blackwater. Then I was attacked by a fecking Grizzly which sent it to the Travellers yard.
 
Kill animals, and sell their filthy hides. Accept bounties, and capture them alive. As your honour goes up, so does the reward for bounties.
 
Wear the bandana then. You can slaughter all you want and you don't lose honour.

Does there come a point where you're not riding through the nothingness for ages to get to a place with nothing init, pick up something, and then ride back?

That's really starting to get old
