Bolton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

What's wrong with Gary Neville starting? Some of you lot are weird gimps

I remember Rooney scoring a hat-trick few years ago in a 4-0 win after coming off a similar barren run. Hoping this is the game that will re-ignite him again

Personally I'd go with:

VDS
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Scholes Anderson
Berbatov Owen

With Anderson tucking in quite a bit, similar to how Park plays it for us and how Modric plays it for Spurs.

However I expect Giggs will play instead of Anderson and Rooney instead of Owen.

I expect O'Shea to start. His height and strength will be very useful.

----------VDS

---Rafael Rio Vidic Evra

Nani Fletcher Scholes Rooney

-----Berba Hernandez

Subs:
Anderson for Scholes
Giggs for Berba
Park for Rooney or Nani

Play the off the park from the start, score a couple and then try to rest some of our key players.

Waking up at 7 cocking am to watch United game is not a right idea of a fun Sunday.

Consider yourself fortunate that you are on Eastern time. We are on Central at the moment, so its 6:00 am for us.

What channel is this going be on in the States? I've looked on the Fox Soccer Channel and ESPN websites and their schedules aren't showing it.

It's on Fox Soccer Plus:
Live Soccer Streaming & TV Schedules: Sunday September 26, 2010 - good site by the way, shows where you can see various games.

And talk about early - 5am Mountain time...

So if its true that Fergies not having his usual press conference tomorrow then weve no idea on any potential injuries/unavailabilities for this game, is Nani ok? heard nothing since Sunday so im hoping thats a good thing but he looked like he was holding his hamstring when he came off against the scousers?

Hope to god hes fit as hes as crucial as any of our attacking players right now especially with Valencias injury, assuming theres no new injuries im hoping its pretty much as we were against the crap last week.

Starting XI: --------------- Van Der Sar ------------------------
Brown -------- Ferdinand ------------------- Vidic -------- Evra
Nani ----------- Scholes ------------------ Fletcher ------ Giggs
----------------- Owen ------------------ Berbatov -----------

Bench: Kuszczak, O´Shea, J.Evans, Anderson, Park, Rooney, Hernandez

Bolton play 4-4-2 and are fast on the wings. Great at contra attacking

We should play 4-4-2 as well and 4-5-1 away to Valencia.

That means we could play Berba-Rooney at Bolton and say Owen away in Spain. The reason being Bolton is a much more important and a difficult one to win. We'll have a chance to get to a point behind Chelsea, who will have their first serious game for the season at City.

I'll pray for SAF to put our strongest team out. Crossing fingers

4 am for me hmmmm maybe I will stay up for that, I reckon 4-1 United

Where would Scholes and Berba or Rooney be in this case? Subs?

I'd rest Rooney and Scholes for Valencia. Bolton away is never an easy game and I can understand some fans wanting us to put out our strongest team but We need to get something from the trip to Valencia or we could be in a tricky position early on in our group.

Cramp, I think it was, he should be fine.

The Pub I usually watch matches is barely even open at 12 on Sunday, fecking stupid time indeed.

---------VDS-------
Rafael-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Nani-Scholes-Fletch-Giggs
--Rooney-Berbatov---

Its a strong lineup, but we can not drop more points

I'd be half tempted to have Rooney on the bench. How long can he keep underperforming before the other strikers get a bit pissed off at his invincibility?

I'd still start Rooney, the only thing you can do with him is play him into good form. It's not all that different from the goal droughts he's had before. That said, I think it's about time Chicharito/Macheda/Owen got some serious game time.

it has to be a win, nothing less will do

VDS
O'Shea, Rio, Vidic, Evra
Nani, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs
Berbatov, Rooney

Bench: TK, Evans, Rafael, Park, Anderson, Owen, Chicha

I'd like to see Rafael start ahead of O'Shea though.

Random Team Generator...

Tomasz Kuszczak
Rafael da Silva
Ritchie De Laet
Nemanja Vidić
Fabio da Silva
Bebé
Magnus Eikrem
Darron Gibson
Ryan Giggs
Javier Hernández
Dimitar Berbatov

Against Bolton I'd want to see O'Shea over Rafael.

I expect O'Shea to start but tbh I think Rafaels pace would help deal with Petrov a bit better and at the same time probably exploit his reluctance to track back also. There's not the same aerial bombardment from Bolton under Coyle so I think it would be a good game for Rafael to get more minutes

Personally I'd like to see Rooney benched for Owen, Rooney could be lethal coming on the last half an hour.

Surely Scholes won't start...We need him against Valencia(need his class to retain and use possession efficiently), and I can't imagine him being effective, or having the legs to start two matches in a week.

Scholes on the bench for this one.

Until Anderson, Carrcik (and Hargreaves) are more match fit I think Scholes will be starting these games (potentially the next three on the spin). It'll be down to us to get in a strong winning position as quickly as possible so he'll only have to play about an hour of each game. I reckon Scholes will start the next three games, but be subbed off in all of them. We'll probably play 433 at Valencia anyway which could either give him a breather while playing, or mean he can be on the bench maybe.

I think we'll see Darren and Darron at some point in the next three games.
