Sunderland vs. Manchester United

NANI ---- FLETCHER --- CARRICK -- OBERTAN
-------------- OWEN ----- BERBATOV ----------

Bench: PIG, O'SHEA, EVANS, ANDERSON, GIBSON, MACHEDA, HERNANDEZ

Bang on. Unfortunately Solius isn't the boss though so no doubt we'll have JOS at right back, Park on the wing and Berba up top on his own.

I lie awake at night thinking 'Why does SAF have to be manager, when Solius would do a far better job?'

451 could be a good option against a good team away from home, but Berba up front alone am not too sure. Would like to see Rafael continue at). Anychance Obertan for Park. Doubt as Obertan not got many mins on board yet.

I've thought this many times myself. It's only a matter of time though.

Yeah, fecking wish SAF wasn't the boss :wenger:

No offence to Solius, I'm sure he'd do a great job as manager, but please, a little more respect for the greatest manager in world football (SAF, not Solius).

So what exactly are you trying to say?

Looking forward to this one, if we can keep Valencia at bay we should do the same with this lot, here's hoping Rio and Vidic continue the stabilization of our defense.

Difficult one. I actually think Fergie will play almost the same team that beat Valencia, Sunderland away is a tough fixture so I'm not really expecting a 442:

van der Sar
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Fletcher Carrick Anderson
Nani Berbatov Park
--
Kuszczak; Rafael, Evans; Gibson, Obertan; Owen, Hernandez

I reckon O'Shea will be brought back in for this, but I want to see Rafael as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Evans replaces Ferdinand - but I don't want to see that.
I can see Macheda making the bench (over Obertan) or starting out wide (replacing Anderson in the team). Meaning Park would play in the middle. Or we can switch the formation to a 442 with Nani / Park on the flanks and Berbatov & Macheda up top.
Hernandez could warrant a start, but at the beginning of the game I'd expect him to be playing wide right, with Nani left and a three-man midfield.
Owen could easily get a start, but I'm doubting it in this fixture. He'll start against West Brom at Old Trafford.

Sunderland's Home record is very good. Last season, they only suffered three Home defeats, to Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Manchester United (:)) respectively. Hopefully we can beat them there again. We're due an Away league win, hopefully we get more confidence from beating Valencia, rather than fatigue from that match. Chelsea vs Arsenal could go our way, so we need to make sure we've done our part first.

Owen just has to start this match...

Obertan isn't fit yet so I wouldn't use him yet so its either Park/Nani and maybe even Evra will play LW, we have O'shea/Fabio as backups at LB.

Carrick/ Ando isn't fit either and playing Fletch again maybe over doing it but I assume we will go 4-5-1, Sunderland are off to a good start this season with Malbranque and Bent doing a lot of damage...

I'd go for a 4-4-2 never the less, I'm sure Berbs-Owen will offer a goal so its up to the defense to handle it...

Rio-Vidic back just makes us look awesome in defense so I hope they play again.

Interesting idea, given the internationals.

Piss off being so bloody anal, I'm sure you all know what I meant. SAF rarely picks the team I'd like see play but then he does the job a million times better than I would.

The "unfortunately" part of my post meant "unfortunately for me and what I would like to see"... but then, I'm sure you already knew that!

At this stage i'll go for:

VDS
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Anderson
Berbatov Owen

Of course we're yet to hear of any little niggles that may have been picked up though.

evra better be up for this .. el muhammady is decent .. loves putting crosses in and bent will be a threat in the air

VDS
JOS Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Park
Berbatov Owen

will do just fine

Copycat.

Actually I think Owen will start. I felt SAF was saving him for this match.

Not sure if Rooney will play in spite of the 'I'm fit' rumors. SAF may just want him to rest so he wont have be involved in the internationals.

And teh two lads, Macheda and Chico will play some role for sure.

I think Bebe may start. A strange reason but I think it could influence Fergie, is that it is a 3pm kickoff. If Bebe has a quiet match, no one will question it. If it was a super Sunday 4pm kickoff, and Bebe had a poor game, there would be much more discussion. Bebe or Anderson at LM though, wouldn't mind either.

I feel bad for Obertan, the way we are 'developing' him is a joke.

The lad has sufferred from bad injuries, we are nursing him which seems fair. I'd say if we don't play him after he gets another at least 3 reserve games then I'm pretty sure he'll be off.

Has to make the bench at some point... Or otherwise it'll mean SAF rates Bebe' more.

I know he's supposed to be out for a couple of weeks with the hamstring but is there anybody else who wouldn't be totally surprised to see Giggs make a miraculous recovery for this one?

And again...

The more I read your posts the more I begin to understand that you suffer from some of the most faulty logic i've ever come across.

Was thinking...

Get in for Chicharito/Owen for Ando/Fletch and keep the rest as it is.

Really really hope Rafael keeps his place over O'Shea.

but I don't really understand the first bit...so I'll go for the same as everyone else but I won't just post up the same team as everyone else as that would be a pointless waste of time.

I'd like to see Owen again...;)

Say what? Let's keep things real simple.

Bebe isn't ready to be given the responsibility of starting important games yet. We need to win and get back on track so Fergie won't take the risk.

Obertan's development is up to him. He was looking outstanding in pre-season but since his injury he hasn't been the same. It will take him a bit more time to find his form again. The way we are allowing him to develop will pay off.

Bebe won't start, and if he does I will eat my own face.

Well I think it's a great chance to blood Bébé or Obertan, Nani will have a long run of games and Park is flying over to Souel midweek, particularly when Antonio Valencia's out and Giggs seems to be injured.

I want to see these players get a chance as well but Sunderland away is a tough fixture and I think we need our best 11 out there so Scholes is a must unless he's more injured than I thought, and despite his performance against Valencia I think Park will be in to try and help with Al-Muhammadi back.

I thought there was a report going around saying he is out for 10 days, Sunday will be too soon for him.
