Manchester United v West Bromwich Albion

Apparently Hargreaves has a calf(?) injury so won't play anyway.

To the previous poster who was waffling on about Vidic on international duty, I thought the didn't play internationals anymore...no?

I'm sure the Rooney stuff is a smoke screen of some sort, or I hope so anyway. Desperately want to see him back at his best, linking up with some Nani crosses and back to scoring. Fusk the press mate, just go out and play your natural game ffs!!!

Starting XI: ------------- Van Der Sar ----------------------
Brown ------- Ferdinand ----------------- Vidic -------- Evra
Nani ---------- Scholes ----------------- Carrick ------ Giggs
--------------- Rooney ---------------- Berbatov -----------

Bench: Kuszczak, Rafael, J.Evans, Fletcher, Obertan, Owen, Macheda

VDS

Rafael, Rio, Vida, Evra

Nani, Scholes, Carrick, Obertan

Berbatov, Rooney

Subs Kuszack, JOS, Evans, Giggs, Anderson, Owen, Hernandez

Time to give Fletcher a rest IMO. I don't think Fergie will give Obertan a chance but I'd like to see him given a chance. With Valencia out we need to manufacture another performing wide player and he would be worth a game in this match. Giggs can always be drafted in if needed but that side should be enough to take care ofWest Brom. Most of those players have not played in mid week as well.

I'd rather give Bebe a chance than Obertan, but think we'll start Giggs.

Bebe's showing nothing so far to say he should be ahead of Obertan who for me is still comfortably the fifth choice winger. Bebe's still someone whose main experience to date is in the Portugese lower leagues, he's going take alot of work to make it at United.

Obertan showed some promise last season for the first team and the reserves. He's still very raw but the talent is obviously there and with his injuries which Fergie referenced early on his United career sorted I'd be hoping for him to get some games. He's also much more advanced than Bebe in terms of experience at the higher levels of football(i.e. under 21 football and competitive football in higher standards of league).

I'd have Bebe in the reserves with the sporadic Carling cup performance and then a January loan when he's fully acclimatised to things. In short, nowhere near the first team squad.

I heard Giggs is fit, don't know about Park. Obertan and Bebe are fit too, no? So beyond the 'obvious' choices we do have more wingers available.

So what's the injury situation? Reports on various sites have us somewhere between one fit winger (Nani) and three (Nani, Giggs, Park)

Fergie confirmed in his pre-match interview that Giggs is 100% fit.

If they play as well as they did at our place you could be in for an interesting afternoon.

Odemwingie is doubtful for the match, that could be a big blow for them, as he was very good against Arsenal.

I've put him in my fantasy team as insurance - he'll defo not play now
