MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

I'm incredibly disappointed, much more so than when Ronaldo left. How can a man who has always been known has given his all, form or not, suddenly become so gutless?

Oh well, we will move on and he can become a footnote in our history.

Thank feck we still have SAF though! Imagine anyone else dealing with these recent years?

shocked. am just wondering why would rooney think that leaving Man Utd can possibly help clear up his present load of problems ? cant think of any rationale for such a disturbing escalation in events... season has just gone from poor to borderline shitty with dark clouds up ahead...

"There's no offer on the table because they're not prepared to accept an offer"

He's worse.

Yup, that's the thing.
You could more or less understand why the likes of Tevez, Heinze and Ronaldo wanted to leave.

With Rooney there doesn't seem to be any other reason than greed.

Will be interesting to hear what he has to say for himself.

Perhaps I'm clinging to false hope, but a chance we're trying to force Rooneys hand?

Yeah, that's what's happening...SAF is conning the fans. Well done.

No chance this cnut who fecked over his boyhood club and the fans that supproted him is doing it again.

Let's be honest here, Fergie stated that they haven't even discussed contract, so how it can be a money thing if he doesn't know what Man Utd are willing to offer doesn't seem right to me.

It's a bummer though, I'm pretty devastated, I honestly expected him to stick it out with the team, but I guess he's going to end up leaving us the same reason he left Everton, he just wants to win as much as possible, and seeing that we've hardly spent in the past 2 years and that he knows more about the debt.....

If he goes to City though, well....that's his problem.

Jilted Lovers United......................yawn.

There's a game tomorrow.

Get fecking rid!

I don't want a player at our club who doesn't want to wear the shirt. Fair enough, I'll take that back if Fergie talks him round after this difficult period of his life. But feck me!

I'm shocked, surely there is no better place to be for a British footballer than United and Giggs, Scholes Neville are all examples of that

Agreed. Bigger and better players have left in the past. The only concern I have is that if he is sold in January, we'll need immediate and significant investment, but will that happen whilst the fecking yanks own the club?

We obviously need investment. Maybe not in January, but definitely in the summer. The Glazers will step up.

I'd piss if this was a massive WUM by SAF and Rooney.

It's not going to be, like, but it would be funny.

I know. Which is why this strikes deeper, because the cnut went out of his way to con the fans. Like he did with Everton..."Once a blue"

Just be a fecking man and say you're a greedy bitch and want money. We'll hate you, but at least you'll be honest. Much respect to Ronaldo and even Tevez. Both wanted out, but they were men about it.

Tevez wasn't.

Pull your fecking head in Jason. We're not that skint. We'll match any offer and club can give him. Thats whats weird about the whole thing. Rooney could name his price.

You DO live on Mars, then.

Maybe you should refrain from posting about contractual or financial matters until you grow up to be a big boy and can vaguely understand these things?

The Irony - of Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez, Tevez was the one who tried hardest to stay and who was then branded as a money grabbing whore.

Yeah... One wanted a contract, one had a dream, one couldnt keep it in his pants and doesnt want to stay.

this isn't neccessarily completly over yet imo

rooney and utd are/were in negotiations and so far i'd taken all the press stories as being his agents attempts at pushing the price up

even wayne telling fergie in person that he wants to leave could be attempts at getting utd to improve their offer and not necessarily a genuine desire to go

safs reponse today has firmly put the issue back at waynes feet, utd are going to play hard ball and by exposing him to the wrath of the fans Wayne now has to make a move because there's not really any coming back from that.

If wayne isn't going to play tomorrow he's got this week to thrash something out if he wants to stay then put out an interview saying he made a mistake he loves the club blah blah and he'll be cheered onto the pitch next time he plays - without this he'll be booed to high heaven and i cant see how he can show is face on the pitch at OT again

How could Rio have only found out via Sky? Surely he must've known.

Rio has to tweet every single minute, so he had to come up with something to say without taking a stand or revealing anything.

How has he treated us like shit exactly? He has informed the club he wished to leave through all proper channels.

Get a grip.

Yeh if he joins City it's unforgivable.

I don't think it's the same. Rooney has been one of the first names on the team sheet for about 7 years now. With Tevez, it was just 1 season.

So, this, is the right way to leave a club? Even Fergie has said that he asked one thing of him, to respect the club, which he hasn't done.

Well, I would never boo a player, but I will certainly never cheer him again.

A fresh start after his indiscretions? But even then, it's his own stupidity. While we tried to help him, he repaid us with this shit.

@Lord_sugar

Lord Alan Sugar rips into Rooney on twitter:

If it was me I would not let Rooney play again for Man Utd stick him rotting in the reserves. The ungrateful s... Brilliant today Sir Alex

I'd piss if this was a massive WUM by SAF and Rooney.

It's not going to be, like, but it would be funny.

That's exactly what I would do if I was manager, and player didn't want to leave obviously. Would be a laugh watching the media spaz out about it.

You think he's leaving because of the debt?

You, sir, have been merked.

"Rooney would never do this"

Most cafe posters during the Ronaldo saga.

Well most of us did. Since Ronaldo had always been with the 'God only knows' shit, It was clear that he was going to leave sometime soon.

But Rooney, with all that 'Adopted Mancunian' stuff, you'd never guessed him to leave.

May be he's a just another scouser after all.

That's exactly what I would do if I was manager, and player didn't want to leave obviously. Would be a laugh watching the media spaz out about it.

Lets just pray he announces BBC exclusive....Then we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

How should a player leave then?

When has he not respected the club?

Great thing is SAF has everyone on his side with his interview.

Hate to sound cynical, but that might very well be his intention.

Wouldn't take everything he said for granted...

Apparently, he hasn't even seen fit to provide his club with a reason as to why he wants to leave. feck him.
