MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

He barely played last season due to injury, and this season he's been fecking shite.

Great player when he's fit, but there's no getting away from the fact that he's a crock.

Read Rooney in place of Torres and you're right

Sold from Real Madrid to Sunderland, where he is plagued by injury until he leaves on a free.

Liverpool then sign him, and he scores against Everton in the last minute before not doing much else?

Something like that

ManUnitedYouth Hearing rumours that Rooney's 'people' are in talks
with one of the papers to tell his side of things. Would be a nice little earner, that.

Go check his record mate. Read the Torres transfer forums of the past too. He was far from the best striker in the world before arrive. Yes he's injury prone but still bangs 20 a season. Judging him now is like judging Rooney. form temperary etc etc....

Arguably...And I was arguing against.

He asked to leave BEFORE his recent troubles were announced.

Announced, yes. But he knew he was shagging away with prostitutes. Infact, didn't the tabloids know but there was a gagging order on it for a while? I'm not sure as I tend not to follow gossip and such.

Anyway, his on field problems have been going for a while. His lacklustre performances at the WC would suggest his problems were bubbling away under the surface then, too.

Thats what some of us having been telling everybody for years. Ronaldo was the player that was our focal point of attack. Rooney happens to be a very overrated player, due to his nationality and the fact that he plays for Manchester United.

No point in this. Overrated yes, only because of the press. But still a fantastic player who we will miss a great deal. He deserves to be called a cnut etc... for what he has done

Its exactly what I saw some on here do after Tevez left. Suddenly say he was shite.

Sorry but neither players are shite both are extremely good

Fair enough but he's going to face a lot of abuse from his own fans and even though Fergie's left the door open for him he's been painted as the villain here.

Well yeah, that's the whole point. Give him some fecking support instead of vilifying him. If United fans have even a small chance of turning his head then it's what they should do, rather than risk confirming his exit by throwing out personal abuse for the sake of it.

Wes is laughing because Gaz just shouted "HAHA, Brwnd, you scouse cnut!" off camera.

Seems a bit set up to me. Their all looking at the camera. Convenient for Rooney...be injured and not play again.

Wes and Owen look pleased though :D

He hasn't burnt his bridges with Ferguson or the Club, because Ferguson still wants him to stay and the offer is still on the table. That's good enough for me.

And yes it's been going on for over two months, because both his off the field problems and on the field problems have been going on for a long time. If he gets his life sorted, and sorts himself out on the pitch, then I think he'll willingly sign a contract. But nah feck that, let's throw personal abuse at a guy who is mentally going through a tough time.

Definitely has with the fans, and as wide as Ferguson's arms might appear to be, the relationship is now tarnished.

This isn't about letting him sort his mind out. It's totally screwed already.

I really do know what you're getting at, and I've been debating with myself over whether my reaction is throwing toys out the pram, cutting the nose to spite the face, etc, but I don't see a way back for him, and right now I'm at peace with the idea of letting him go.

Ronaldo, of course, came back from this twice. Even so, this feels far more final. I'm not sure Fergie will go to the same lengths to keep him, or if Rooney himself will be as easily swayed.

those were big games, but to be fair i would argue that they weren't our biggest.

Milan away, they were a piss poor side. Arsneal had a piss poor defense, as did city at that time.

Chelsea-home and away is bigger, he did nothing noteworthy that i can remember.

Liverpool.. has he ever scored against them ?

Munich games he was poor, granted second game he had injury.

Well he didnt play in the Chelsea home game but i agree with your point. I've always thought Rooney was in Tevez's class - great but not world class

This was actually when Coleen was pregnant which would put it sometime last September?
It did not really affect his performance till March.

It'll be really interesting to hear his side of the story because it's hard to imagine how he could change his view so drastically in 6 months after wanting to "stay for life" in March

He's had nothing but support up to now, showing him more will change nothing

What's the motivation of Wayne not wanting to stay any more? Agent negotiating a better deal for him? What is it? I can't fathom him not wanting to stay just by himself...

That would just be so staggering as to be beyond compare.

"The whole world thinks you're a vile money-grasping disloyal tit! Get the papers on the line, we'll make a quick cheque selling your heart-rending story!".

Who does his PR, Carlos Tevez?

What a great read that will be:

"United were always good to me but once they told me shagging a hooker behind my pregant wifes back was bad i knew i had to get out" - Prick

Just very disappointed more than anything, but I feel that we will come out the stronger from this whole situation. My only wish would be for the Transfer Market to open and get it over and done with before it might have an effect on the rest of the team.

He won't stay. Ferguson doesn't come out with a statement like that & have a genuine look of disappointment if he didn't think it was salvageable.

As someone eloquently put it, if he's cheated on his pregnant wife with a hooker then in the grand scheme of things he couldn't give a feck about United.

Spin always is. Thing is would anyone believe him? Wveryone knows how duplicitous he's been so far......so who gives a shit about his side of things......ah didumms poor Wayne, no one wanted to give him 200k a week at Utd,poor, poor me.I'm a victim blah blah

Owen must be thinking....what a wanker.

He asked to leave BEFORE his recent troubles were announced.

The story broke at the beginning of September. He will have known about it for weeks before, hence trying to get the super injunction.

Massively disappointed at this news, I just wish someone would tell us why he wants to leave.

Fergie claims he doesnt know, yet he has had discussions with him about him wanting a move, surely the first thing you would ask is why sort out that issue.

Now there's a conversation, Dumb and Dumber

Wayne Rooney is a total disgrace and a spoilt child. I hope he leave sooner than later, what a prick after all Sir Alex has done for him. May his career go downhill from here on, but then again I do not need to wish him any bad things because he lacks the dicipline and dedication you need to become as good as Ronaldo or Messi anyway.

Have a good time shagging hookers, pissing in the streets and getting fat by eating burgers and other unhealthy stuff.

I don't get it...what happened in the last two weeks that put it idea of leaving into him mind? What a ungrateful cnut.
