MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Ok, lets put the bad feelings away... Rooney is a fecking brilliant player, one of the best. No matter whether he's a cnut or not

I hope he doesn't play again, he doesn't deserve the honour and I would rather give others a chance. However if he does maybe silence would be the best option, only because it wouldn't effect the team as a whole. Saying that I can't blame anyone for booing, the cnut deserves it.

If he did go City, wouldn't that mean there would be something like 8 City players who play for England?

They'd think England was like City's reserves

Exactly. He might not be out player anymore but he IS world class and he is a brilliant player.

Hope he turns absolute shite though wherever he goes.

When I watch Ronaldo play I take a certain pride in his performances. Definitely won't be the same with Rooooney.

I think he is world class, not on the same level as messi and ronnie but still world class. Anyway I personally apologise to everyone I criticised and argued with on here when I thought it was all media induced contract wrangling bull, you live and learn. Now time to move on, the lads going so it's time to forget about him. We've still got a good squad and were scoring goals, once our defence sorts itself out and our midfield adapts to the new non Roony tactics, I'm still sure we'll be fine.

Actually agree with that.

For this season we will just about manage.

Even if we find out he's getting a bucket load at his new club. Will we ever really know the truth? His not going to admit it and when it comes to explaining his reason.. what can he really say? We lacked ambition.. that can only be clarified in who we buy when he leaves. He wanted a change? If he stays in England not much will change will it.

No I dont suppose we will ever get the truth but I would love to get it. Though I think he could make a reasonable case about the lack of ambition. It isnt just who we replace him with, it is who we replaced Tevez and Ronaldo with. Or not as the case may be. Enough fans have expressed concern about it, it would be legitimate for him to have similar concerns.

To be honest, I don't really care where he goes I just want him gone. Yesterday.

That said I'd prefer to feck him off to Spain or Italy. Maybe Inter? Scousers seem to get along swimmingly with their manager.

With Coleen's ill sister I doubt they will go abroad, it is either City or Chelsea

The most horrific part of this whole situation is how Fergie was. I've never seen him like that before, never. I don't think he's ever been like that before with the media.

Tough, grumpy, angry, no-nonsense Fergie genuinely looking totally upset? It was gut-wrenching to watch as a United fan, truly horrible.

Our great, legendary manager who has cut the media down so many times and who bought Rooney here, nurtured him, helped him get to a fantastic level and win a lot of trophies with us, and had great faith in him always has been totally betrayed by an utter mercenary and despicably disloyal cnut.

Yes, I used the 'c' word!

Very excusable in the circumstances

Amazing how a day can change your opinions on someone. Sure i'm not completley biased and what he did to his wife is terrible but from being a United legend to decieving the fans, shitting on the manager who made you what you are and by the looks of it being a money grabbing cnut is just really not what i expected from OUR Wayne. I thought Fegie had drilled some morals into the rough Scouser.

I still hope he doesn't go and i hope i wake up in the morning and this is just a really bad dream but when does this ever happen? I honestly think we've seen the last of him or if we haven't then we have very little time left. And not if but when he goes i will detest the cnut until the day i die for the way he has treated those who have helped him most.

You know things are bad when MrsGiggs brings out the c word. But agree with you entirely, seeing Ferguson's reaction has been the worst part of all this.

I agree this was the most horrible thing. He seemed defeated for once.

Normally when something bad happens Fergie comes out fighting and as I fan I think "feck it. We still have Fergie."

But today Fergie seemed like he didn't have the fight. I really thought he'd have it in him to build one more great side. Today I wasn't so sure.

My fear is that this might be a result of our debt. I really hope it's not a case of us needing the funds or the clubs financial status beings so dire the player wants out of the mess. When faced with a situation like that, the Rooney is a cnut story seems a lot nicer. :)

Nooshka I hope you're a lass.. could really do with some pick me up sex right now. Check your PM.

I still think that if it was Madrid, it'd have been all over their paper for months like Ronaldo.

Good point, but there were stories. Perhaps Rooney wasnt willing to play another full season unlike Ronaldo, so its all sped up. Or perhaps Mourinho doesnt want it all out in the press distracting his current players.

It's not a word I use lightly, in fact it's a word I hate, but what Rooney is doing is so disgusting.

We as fans have always stuck up for him, and cheered him, even idolised him, and all he's ever said to us is that he loves it here, that he wants to spend the rest of his career here, that Fergie is like a father to him, that he loves the fans... then he stabs our legendary manager and all these loyal fans who spend hard-earned cash so he can have his obscene wages in the back for no real reason?

cnut.

Didnt the clubs agree to not use the Webster ruling?

No, Gutierrez went to Newcastle after terminating his contract using the Webster ruling for example. It was only the G14 clubs which informally agreed not to exploit it - that group ceased to exist in 2008 though, and City were never a part of it anyway.

We'll try to sell in January I'm sure to avoid this.

I posted this in the other thread

Does anyone else think Rooney might just have gone into panic mode? Maybe he realized after he cheated the extent of what he had done and that sooner or later word would spread and that he would be crucified in England. I don't think its city he is going to, he is trying to engineer a move to another country, which probably wouldn't be as bad as being busted in your home country. I know if got busted with something like that I would rather be far away than at home. Keep in mind that he is Wayne Rooney, Englands hope and probably one of the most prominent figures as well. To go from that to an adulterous cur is a huge fall from grace, maybe he couldn't handle it and just wanted to get away as soon as possible.

Absolutely. I probably wouldn't have used it if I hadn't seen the reaction from Fergie though. That was what did it for me. It actually made me feel sick.

are you serious? almost every youngster at age 18 in South America has that kind of technical ability on the ball. That is not what sets Whilshere apart, although being a technically proficient Brit does have it's advantages in the Prem. Wilshere is a playmaking genuis.

look, this discussion isn't what I was really trying to start in this thread

do you not agree with me with Rooney was allowed all sorts of extra breathing room and was free from criticism by our fans because they could relate to him more than other United players since he seemed to be a regular ol' bloke and was a poster boy of the biggest club in England?

For sure. not in 'white pele' camp. he isn't half the player or person ronnie is.

If he does this I sure as feck hope he doesn't get a single game in the next 18 odd months.

I think a lot of people are as angry at the way Fergie has been treated in all this, compared to the actual news itself. I was shocked at the news, and to lose a player of his caliber is huge, but the real emotion came after the interviews, seeing Fergie respond in that manner wasn't right, he looked crushed from Wayne's decision, and that for me is the most upsetting thing.

If Rooney - who is head and shoulders above any other attacking Man United player - is not world class then the rest of our attack must be very average.

That's the really surprrising thing, which probably shows that it's almost a shock to Fergie as it is to most of us. He too seemed to have believed that Rooney would be United for life.

Tempted to call him that myself. Like you I think we all feel betrayed, to think a short time ago we all idolised him and he could have been a legend here. Now he will become a figure of hate and instead of being remembered for the good he did he will be remembered as a traitor
