Isn't his contract up in 2012? Shouldn't the club be sorting out an extension right now?
As a side note, is "penetration" SAF's favorite word? The dirty old fart.
Did anyone else realise Rooney slapping Anderson during his celebration?
For a second when I saw that yesterday, I thought Anderson was going to take a slight swing at Rooney but I guess he was too busy celebrating his goal to notice anything.

Maybe they've had to wait a while until Anderson got it out of his system.Fergie: Anderson wanted out

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed midfielder Anderson wanted to leave Manchester United last season.
The 22-year-old Brazilian is set to resume competitive action after a six-month lay-off caused by a knee ligament injury.
He picked up the injury in February following an uncertain January transfer window when he was linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
"Anderson has an incredible talent," said Ferguson. "He loves training and playing. He wants to play every game and train every day.
"But that is a problem for me because at 22 he has not got the maturity to understand we operate a squad here.
"When he does understand that, he will be a fantastic player here but last season he was talking about leaving because he was not playing in every game.

"Maybe it is a good thing he has been injured for a spell because he can look at the situation.
"In some ways, I don't want to change his mentality because it is wonderful to see someone who wants to play every minute of every day.
"If you have someone with that enthusiasm, you have to be careful you don't check it to the point when you lose it.
"I didn't talk to him about leaving. I just let him get it out of his system."
One thing I have little doubt of if Anderson becomes a top player at United, I see him and Nani popping off to Real to have orgies with Ronaldo et al. in the Bernabeau

Not the first time either. Berba has been battered after some of his goals. No wonder he misses so many

His pace through the middle will be essential against wengers mob
That's a good in for something I wanted to talk about Hellboy. Reading a lot of stuff in the press about Anderson, and indeed on here, you get the impression that he had a great first season and then a crap second one followed by a disastrous third. However I'm pretty sure everyone was largely content with his second year, not least because of a string of excellent performances in big games, especially alongside Fletcher and Carrick. He was poor in Rome, but then so was everybody, and few had the excuse of being injured early in the game. In addition he had a good first few months of last season, didn't he? I seem to remember he was pretty damned good and kept his place more often that not. Up until winter and his disastrous performance at Eastlands and subsequent tantrum I wasn't aware of many United fans having concerns about him, especially compared to the abuse Nani got for being inconsistent.
Is he suffering from the revisionism that has so plagued Carrick's recent career, or has my memory turned to shit?

Couldn't see this posted so thought i'd add it.

I think that video has every single touch he made, and on that basis, his last 20 minutes weren't quite as filled with misplaced passes as I think it's been made out on here.
He lost the ball twice, where he was under heavy pressure and received the ball in a difficult position, but other than that he also had 3 good moves/passes in the last 20 minutes.
I'm not disputing that he ran out of steam at the end and I know it influences more than just his passing, like for example off the ball movement, but if that video did indeed feature all his moments, then I think people remember the last 20 minutes as being worse than they actually were.
On another note, the video above is quite similar to the early youtube videos of him which created all the hype in the first place when we signed him. It's the running with the ball and getting past players with great strength and balance that made him stand out when he was younger, and his resurrection in the last 3 games is mainly down to how he's made these runs at a much higher frequency than we have become used to in the last couple of years.
Very exciting times.
I think it's how he seems to tick all the boxes a midfielder can apart from finishing, which is something one can add with time. He is quick, he's strong, he has good control, he is capable of passing it very well, he has a good football brain, he can get stuck in, this completeness is what struck me as special in his early months as a United player. Once he perfects his end product in terms of goalscoring/final ball and consistently puts in general play of this level he could potentially be unstoppable.I think that video has every single touch he made, and on that basis, his last 20 minutes weren't quite as filled with misplaced passes as I think it's been made out on here.

For me it's the accuracy of passing which has stood out most of all. Some perfectly weighted through balls and hardly any of the misplaced bazookas that he tends to produce when he's not on his game.

I don't know, he's always been capable of making those passes. The difference to me, is that he's now only tried to pull them off a couple times in each match - when he's had time. Where as previously he would usually try those passes 5-6 times per match no matter how much pressure he or his intended target was under.
He's always been one of the best players in the squad when it comes to through balls - it was the other passes he had trouble with, and as he's now limited those passes to a decent amount and replaced them with some brilliant runs with the ball through the middle, we have a "new" and very exciting player on our hands.
United are to hand Brazilian midfielder Anderson a new Old Trafford contract to seal his return to form.
The club are in talks with the 22-year-old’s advisors over an agreement.
Anderson signed a five-year United deal in 2007 when he joined the Reds for £18m from Porto and that contract expires in 2012.
But both parties are keen to get a new deal signed and discussions are underway.
Anderson has returned to form in recent weeks after injury and illness.
He scored his first goal at Old Trafford on Tuesday night against Valencia in the 1-1 Champions League draw to add to his driving display against Blackburn Rovers.
It is a return to the powerful early form he showed in his debut season at United.
Resurgent Anderson is set to be a key figure in Monday night’s Premier League blockbuster with Arsenal at Old Trafford.
It was against the Gunners in his debut season at United that he earned himself his exclusive terrace song for his dominance of Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Another trademark powerhouse effort against Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard cemented his cult hero status with Reds fans.
But the youngster’s form plateaued and he lost some of his lustre with his one-time support.
Last term he had two alleged fall-outs with manager Sir Alex Ferguson after being overlooked for selection and almost left for Lyon last January.
But a trimmer-looking player has got his act together again and has now put down a marker in United’s engine room.
It has not gone unnoticed with United’s hierarchy and the player is now in a much better bargaining position and a deal is expected to be in the offing.
With Fergie saying Scholes will be fit for Monday I wonder if that means Anderson will be back on the bench, it's a shame if he is given his current form.
If a midfielder has to drop to the bench, it is Fletch. Much as I love Fletch, his form lately has been crap and maybe a brief rest won't do him any harm. If we're going 3 in midfield, it'll be Scholes, Carrick and Anderson.
I don't know, Fletcher usually plays well against Arsenal and if we're talking about form I don't think Carrick deserves to walk into the team. We might even stick with the 442 that's been creating so many chances, although that would obviously be a risk against one of the best teams in the league.
