Marseille Vs Manchester United

Nani has the beatings of Heinze for fun. Pitch saved Heinze last time. The move before that Gibson should have played it in. Everything goes through Nani for us.

Herman ze german calls half time, deschamps off to get some fanni and I'm going for a piss

Carrick has been awful so far, Gibbo has actually been decent while Nani is our best player.

Defensively excellent, offensively well they can't fecking pass and stop hoofing!!!

Good start, followed by 25 minutes of Marseille testing our concentration at the back, O'Shea being wasteful and Nani being a bit dissappointing with all the slipping over

I just started watching. Have we parked the bus the first half or are trying to attack and score?

Very cagey.

But we've done fairly well so far. We've had the majority of good play around their box, but nothing to show for it. Apart from a bad habit of giving the ball away in midfield we're looking tidy. Defensively we're solid and that's pleasing. There's not much coming from the left wing but on the right, Nani has the beating of Heinze. If he manages to stop slipping our breakthrough will probably come down here. I still want to see more end product from him, Rooney and Berbatov though. We need more threat.

Seems like the team talk at the start of the match simply consisted of "pass the ball to Nani and let him do something".

Carrick has been shocking, what happened to his passing ability?

Decent half. Typical away European performance. We've largely controlled the game without really creating much. Some of Carrick and Fletcher's passing has been hilariously bad. Quite impressed with Gibson though. Been the best passer among our midfielders. We are 1 quality centre mid away from being a super team.

And I bet Rooney can't wait for Valencia to return, Nani's delivery frustrates him

Shite first half.

It's getting frustrating to moan about our CM but I just can't help it when watching them.
It has been below par again. Carrick and Fletcher are having nightmares out there. The only one half performing in our CM is Gibbo.

Nani should get better studs on and Berbatov more involved.

Frustrating half to watch. Shite football.

We've done ok, Rooney has been wayward with his passing and Carrick has had a bit of a mare, but Smalling, Berbatov and Gibson have had decent halves with Vidic and Evra also being solid.

We are going to have to watch their pace coming through midfield, Ayew is dangerous running at us and so is Remy coming in from the flanks.

Carrick is stinking the place out. Fletch not much better.

Gibson best midfielder on show. I feel reassured that Scholes is on the bench.

Nani will soon make something happen - Heinze looks dodgy.

Berba peripheral. Rooney good in flashes.

Smalling assured again.

When it comes to pace he totally shits over jjudas. We should(and are) exploit that..

True. But I want to see a little more than Rooney. I don't know how a player so talented can be so bad. He's offered nothing. He just does one thing every time - cross field long pass. I know once it actually came off but he has to offer more. Come on Wayne!

Have you watched all our matches? Seriously?

Of course. tell me another game which has been so dull!

At least on other games, the other team has offered something.

In this game, both teams cancelling each other out. Very strategic at the moment.

Will need a player to break the mould to make any inroads.

I just started watching. Have we parked the bus the first half or are trying to attack and score?

Both, but our midfield can not pass to save their lives. Nani keeps falling when he gets into good position. Some players are just messing up simple passes that would have kept the game flowing. All in all, good results.

Gibson and Carrick are seriously 'out of their depth'. The French are sailing through our midfield undetected.

Nani should pass more, and change his studs ffs.

Carrick and Fletcher are so off the pace at the moment its untrue. Gibson is really hit and miss at the best of times.

Not too many positives, other than the fact that Vidic and Smalling are immense together.

Good, and expected half so far. Everything going after the game-plan. I fancy us to nick a late winner.

If the initial plan was to bore us to death then the 2 teams are doing a great match.
2 shit first half performances from both of them, I've rarely been this bored watching a United match

O'Shea has watched the ball go past him a couple of times but seems alright. Smalling, Vidic and Evra are doing well. Carrick and Fletcher are both giving it away all the time. Carrick is doing alright retrieving the ball and Fletcher is chasing it putting pressure on. Nani started bright but has since come deeper and keeps slipping over but he has the beating of Heinze. Rooney started bright but faded as the half went on and Berbatov has been anonymous; hardly touched the ball.

Some embarrassing passing especially from the defenders, the midfield isn't helping that matter. We aren't ambassadors of great football away from home, it's been the case for years. The fact is that we did get very good results in those awful to watch (for the neutral) matches.
