Wigan Athletic vs. Manchester United

You're kidding?

Chelsea and Arsenal lost there last year, Arsenal drew there this year, I don't think it will be that easy at all. We have seven away games left, I think winning two of them would be decent and winning more than two would be great considering our away form. Winning four would probably seal us the title as long as we win all our remaining home games (which I think will happen).

I agree it's not an easy game.

But if we want to win the title we have to win games like this. If we only win 2 of our remaining seven aways you can forget the League as far as I'm concerned.

I think we will win 2 of our 4 easier aways (West Ham, Wigan, Blackburn, Newcastle) and could potentially win 1 of our 3 toughest (Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea). Not losing the rest will be key, and Arsenal game will be the most important one obviously.

Winning two aways with five homes would put us on 78 points, I don't think that will be enough but there will be five more games left - if we draw 4 of them, 82 points could actually do the job this season (especially if we beat/draw at Emirates). Arsenal could currently win 89 points if they won all their remaining games, drawing/winning there would cut it to 86/87, I think they will drop points at Tottenham so 83/84, and there will definitely be one more game where they drop points.

Home games will be vital because that's where we are strong, away from home I don't expect us to suddenly start playing like ourselves so I will be happy as long as we don't lose to many and win those two, three or four required games.

As for home games, Chelsea will be tricky, we should be able to beat Bolton, Everton, Blackpool and Fulham without much fuss.

I agree, but I don't think it's enough.

It might be, it might not be. Winning all home games and four aways would definitely be enough but that would require us to win somewhere tough as I don't think it's likely we will win all 4 easier games.

We have to win at the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Wigan and Blackburn in my opinion. They are sides we should be beating. I'm not having this 'game raising' stuff. We should be good enough. West Ham and Wigan are relegation material. Blackburn are an average side at best...with newcastle you never know what you might get.

Chelsea are in very poor form and we need to take the game by the scruff. A draw there would be a good result indeed. Liverpool...feck knows. We need at least 5 points from the next 3 as far as I am concerned.

I don't think we're capable of winning all 4 of them, we will definitely drop points at least once, most likely twice. From the beginning of the season we've been saying that we need to finally start playing away from home, we've had twelve games already and really didn't deserve to win any of the ones that we won as we were lucky in all of them. Our best performance was Everton away but that was in September.

With all due respect to those at the club...why has this not been addressed?

It's blindingly obvious our away form is poor, I'd love to know what's being done about it.

We'll beat Wigan, I'm not worried.

I reckon we'll draw at the Dippers but come unstuck at Chelsea as we always do.

Before the Wolves game, when we had 14 fixtures remaining, Fergie said we needed 10 more wins for the title. We have played two of those fixtures and won one and lost one. Twelve games to go and Fergie wants 9 more wins. With fixtures still to come against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal away from home this is a must win.

Crossing my fingers for some entertainment from this one, last two games sent me to sleep!

Clattenburg has been given this game. I think he's starting to get a bit better of late, though he could hardly get much worse.

All good things must come to an end at some point, so the 100% record against Wigan has too, let's hope it's not this weekend.

A good pitch will be of a great advantage to us, not bad news at all, im sure Fergie & co. will be delighted with that, Hargo might even get a few mins.

Really now? I'd take a draw at Wigan along with wins at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Wins at both Chelsea and Liverpool in the space of five days, with both of them having at least a week to be ready for us and us with a fairly lengthy injury list. Yeah, I'd take that, I wonder if I could get it with a blowjob from Jessica Alba thrown in.

Seriously, I'll be happy if we come away from Stamford Bridge and Anfield unbeaten.

Agree with you mate, we should be beating those teams given their form and position but it doesn't always work like that, especially more towards the end when everyone is scrapping for points or wanting to finish on a high. Don't forget one single goal from us away to Blackburn Rovers and we'd have won a 4th straight title and already have number 19!!!!!

Everyone was so focused on how hard Chelsea would be and various games that they forgot we could drop points elsewhere also. Hopefully we put Wigan away nicely in Saturday but they're all tough games now, especially with our away issues at times.

Probably be a horrible pitch with still at least a few empty blue seats. Luckily they play quite open these days.

Starting XI: ------------ Kuszczak ---------------------------
Rafael ------- Smalling ---------------- Vidic ---------- Evra -
Nani --------- Carrick --------------- Fletcher ------- Obertan
------------ Hernandez ------------- Berbatov ---------------

Bench: Lindegaard, O´Shea, Brown, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Owen

I'm afraid we will see many changes.

VDS
Rafael Vidic Smalling Fabio
Nani Scholes Carrick Obertan
Owen Hernendez

Evra should get a rest.

With our lack of wingers I think it's a good opportunity to see what Obertan can do while being surrounded by great players.

With Scholes and Carrick we should be able to properly supply the forwards.
Owen and Hernendez are more than capable of bagging some goals against lower table teams.

Think this might be the start of a tense run in. We can nick a 1-0 but I wouldn't be surprised if we drew again.

I wish Evans was fit so he and Brown can start and give Smalling and Vidic a rest.

I don't think Vidic needs a rest.

He had more than a week break before Marseille, he's professional footballer, can play numerous of important matches in a short space of time.

And I think Rio will be back for Tuesday.

He can play alright but his performances won't be the same. He will grow increasingly fatigue over the course of the next two weeks if he plays all four games, especially given the fact that he plays the full 90 minutes every game.

That Wigan away is not easier than Chelsea or Liverpool will be. I just can't imagine Evans - Brown, as you would like to see.
