Chelsea vs. Manchester United

If Rio is not fit:

VDS

Sheasy Smalling Vidic Evra

Nani Carrick Scholes Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

If Rio is fit:

VDS

Rafael Rio Vidic Evra

Nani Carrick Scholes Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

If Giggs isn't ready then I'd play Fabio on the left. I know he's got no experience of the big matches but feck it, I'd show faith in him.

I'd also not be averse to playing Hernandez instead of Rooney, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

So what are the odds of starting Rooney -Berba. We did in August and won. Would have been all for it, had Park being available, but now I'm torn between 4-5-1 and 4-4-2.
Rooney in the hole is a good option too

I'd be very surprised if Rooney is available, after all the furore the FA are bound to ban him. I presume this would be in time for tuesday?

Would they not charge him tomorrow and give us til say 3pm on tuesday to respond? If we appeal they'll probs then ban him for 4.

Ah well, scene set for Michael Owen comin on at A field and getting the winner!

I thought he was very average against Wigan though, didn't look silky at all and hoofed the ball out of play many times for no reason.

Still, against Malouda ( even though he guy is out of form ) I'd rather have Rafael.
O´Shea plays solid in the defence and we`ve a lot of clean-sheets with him, this isn`t just a fluke. I´m not his biggest fan and he isn`t the best Manchester United defender in the club history but he does his job in the defence very good.

IF Rooney does miss the match, I am more than happy with the ''little Pea'' as his replacement - although I think we will then see Berba up fron on his own.

Is Chelsea the biggest challenge for Smalling in the Premier League so far?

He has already played against Chelsea for Fulham. IIRC He was excellent in that match.

No presser for Fergie this morning?

We started with Owen and Rooney with Berbatov coming off the bench to score, from what I remember.

We didn't play 4-4-2 against Chelsea either, Owen basically played as a left winger with Park tucking in to make a 3 man midfield.

I've got my customary 'bad feeling' about this match, which is excellent news because we always win when that happens.

Any idea who the ref is tomorrow?

Just heard in Football Weekly that if we win tomorrow, Chelsea will be as close to the bottom as to the top.

Buzzing for this already - I can't stand Chelsea at all, hopefully we can turn some possession into goals, unlike last year at the Bridge.

I'm feeling confident - we'll have Rio and Giggs back, Berbatov will be fresh, Rooney is scoring again from open play etc etc...

There's too much know-how running through the team these days to slip up against Chelsea - they've shown it all season too...

6.45 am kick off here in oz......have to love the fact my 1st born kid is due in 3 weeks as i used the excuse i have a docs appointment with the wife and will be late to work..........

Augh Martin Atkinson, you are kidding me. How does such a bottler of a ref get a match as big as this one. I have no doubt there will be an awful decision made in this game, i just hope its us that benefits.

We'll get nothing from the ref's tomorrow. They'll all be running scared after elbow gate.
