Liverpool v Manchester United

You're a fecking bottler Carrick. You cannot handle the stage, can you?

Positives: Smalling was a beast again, and Hernandez shows he has to start right now as he's the only striker on form.

Negatives: Everything else, Giggs should not be on the wings anymore. If Carrick is playing with Scholes one of them needs to get further forward and support the strikers.

The main negative is the injury to Nani, i just hope he's not out for too long.

Is that Phil The Power Taylor talking about football on Talksport?

Well done for the last goal, atleast we kept trying. Lucky Arsenal messed their chance up yesterday but we're still in a very good position to win it.

Did we not change shirts at halftime v Southhampton

Yes we changed shirts and i have a feeling they scored six.
Plus we then lost to chelsea and then at home to fenerbace ( I think )

It was 96-97. Lost to S'hampton 6-3, Newcastle 5-0 and Chelsea 2-1 all in succession, from late October to early November. Only lost twice more the rest of the way.

That was horrible to watch. And my stream dies just before we scored. feck off. Let's brush this off and forget about it, we have important games ahead.

In Fergie I trust.

We need to buy midfielders badly, not just one either. None of the current crop should be first choice. We've looked horrible when under pressure. A mistake not to buy in January.

We could still win the title but we'll have to step up, be lucky... also both Nani and Valencia will have to be fit.

I think the mistake was not buying last summer. For all that Scholes can be brilliant when United are down his temper becomes a liability. Not to mention we won't have very much longer, so relying on him seems dangerous.

For all Carrick ever does right (accidentally, it almost seems), he does something else terrible.

Nani is still too selfish, but I agree we need Valencia.

We also need Park, if only for his refusal to ever give up.

Park..how we missed him today. Rooney has needed Valencia all season.

if we get those players back in the run in, we should be fine.

It just wasn't good enough, I'm sick of us bottling it at anfield to be honest.

Giggs was a disgrace, someone should tell him, that when you're picked to play on the wing, then play on the fecking wing. He constantly fecked up our attacks, he was too narrow infield, and I lost count of the number of times berba ended up on the wing, and the number of times scholes looked up to the side giggs was one, looking for the diagonal pass, only to see giggs in the centre of the field.

I just feel numb. We need to perform in these big games and yet again we've failed. The players need to take a long hard look at themselves and show some pride from now on.

Fergie will sort them out.

I love Chicharito. He needs to start every single away game irrespective of who we play.

I agree that we needed to buy last summer... However, our problems have been evident all season and we could have bought someone in January to shape things up.

Carrick makes so many mistakes and is so scared on the ball that he would be better off sitting in the stands.

Nani is selfish but he has won us the most points this season. Selfish or not, he is our best attacking player.

Agree that we need Park back as well, he is a great backup for Nani and Valencia. Also, he is great for big games.

I will credit the first to Suarez. great run and we did not want to give up a penalty.

How many players did he nutmeg? Including Van Der Sar?

The second was not a defensive error but a Nani insane moment.

I never said a defender did it, but Nani was in a defensive position and instead of getting it away decided he'd assist Kuyt instead.

The third was a poor wall.

Poor wall or not, you do not expect a keeper of that calibre to fumble it.

Disappointing is how i'd sum up the performance. No real drive to get the goals. You can have the possession but no point if you aren't even having one shot.

Well, it should hurt, Erica. We were top because we've become very efficient and Fergie's learnt how to get more from less. We're also lucky the other top sides aren't as good as they used to be. And feck knows where the Ronaldo money is because we clearly could've done with reinvesting most of it......

No value etc

SAF, Gill and the Glazers really have to come out and address this now- it's beyond a joke

If I don't find my fecking flag I'm going to have cast some powerful voodoo on Arsenal.

Park Park.. wherever you may be...
We missed him today and on Tuesday. Our pressing of the opposition when they have the ball was so poor.

Our central midfield isnt flash but there is something else which is making that problem even worse. We only have one attacking wide player in Nani. Giggsy doesnt give us the wide attacking penetration anymore which is why we see him played more centrally so often.
So without wide attacking penetration in the final third from both wings we arent giving teams enough bother on both sides to stretch their play. When we dont have them worried about covering both sides we dont open up their midfields which in turn means our midfield has less room to work and more importantly our midfield have less options going forward.
Valencia and Nani would give us that width back but thats still some way off. Obertan for whatever reason hasnt pushed on. After Nani went off today we saw Rooney out wide left and Giggsy on the right. Rooney isnt a left winger, Giggsy isnt a right winger. The players who suffer the most from this are our central midfielders and in there we had an ageing Scholes who keeps dropping deep and playing more like a defensive mid which isnt his natural role and Carrick who just hasnt had a good season.
To fix the central midfield we first have to fix the wide problem, that will help take some pressure of the central midfield.

The performance of both sides seemed quite balanced to me, no team was particularly dominant. Liverpool however defended very well, whereas we were a total shambles.

We had a lot of the ball, or equal amounts, but I think the difference was (besides the good defending) was that Liverpool had shots, even if they were from outside the box. Their players also ran at us and we didn't do much of that, obviously Nani going off was a blow to that but with players like Rooney, Giggs, Rafael, Evra and even Hernandez you'd expect more directness.

Our lack of any real chance creation hurt us just as much as our shoddy defending.

Defence non-existent.
Carrick Shit!
Rooney Shit, as usual.
Plenty of possession, but no end product.
SAF needs to spend some money on new players.

it was a disappointing game, credit goes to all the players, please don't slate Giggs, i accept defeat, men of the match are Carragher, for staying on the pitch, and the ref and the fa for giving us a perfectly handled game.

This is the worst united team I've ever seen. And those mugs on mutv constantly look on the bright side are saying our squad is fine, they're always doing it and every caller says the squad needs improving in areas. Underneath they agree but have to portray positivity I guess, frustrating to watch really. Especially fortune who just sits there and smiles like he's just flattered to be there. Macri is such an old grump too.

over both matches.

poor tactics coupled with a brain fart by Nani did not help matters.

main concern is how bad is Nani hurt?
I dont think he is that bad, I think he went off for added effect after he made himself look a bit silly collapsing in front of the ref....:nervous: should have stayed down out by the touchline.

We're carrying too many declining players but the necessary money is not being spent
