Manchester City vs. Manchester United

I'm buzzing already!! We just CANNOT lose this one..

One, we are playing City and we must prevent them to win at all cost.. And because playing well tomorrow without Rooney at Wembley will show all, just how good of a team we really are. For me this is as big match as the upcoming Schalke games. I think SAF/Phelan feels like this as well and we'll come up with our strongest team and that means no rest for Vidic, Evra, Carrick..

Did Fergie talk about Rio's injury today or give a hint about tomorrow? Is he fit?

I've been bugging my firm all week to get me tickets for the game tomorrow. We own six Wembley seats right behind where the managers sit. I then realised I couldn't make it because its my Daughters birthday party tomorrow.

My phone rang this morning and my heart sank because I knew it was about the tickets, and the 'Daughters b'day or free semi-final tickets' dilemma would have been too much to bear*, thankfully it was two tickets to Bolton - Stoke on Sunday so I was spared the anguish.

* Obviously I would have had to choose the birthday party.

You could have told your daughter that it was a football party to watch her favourite team;)

this is 50/50 match..cup tie and all the pressure on both sides. For us just cause it is City plus the Treble and for City facing us and of course winning a trophy...something they ahve not done in years....

should be a great match in any case :)

I'd say the odds are slightly in our favour as we've been here before an have loads of experience. The pressure is on Mancini to deliver something not us.

Having said that, it's a cup tie anything can happen but I just feel City will miss theor talisman more than we'll miss ours

I wonder if they'll risk Balotelli up front after what happened against Liverpool. Probably not which means Dzeko leads the line. Vidic would like that. Not that he particularly struggles against pacy strikers but he'll find Dzeoko's kind easier to play against.

4-3-3 for us

VdS
O'Shea-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Scholes-Carrick-Anderson
Valencia-Berbatov-Nani

Good bench with Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Smalling and Rafael on it.

I'd like to see that team.

I'll watch this game in the pub but I don't have the butterflies in the stomach like I did before our CL game this week.

extra time? thought it was straight to penalties.

From the Rules for the FA Cup:

27. PROVISIONS FOR THE SEMI-FINALS

(e) When a match is drawn after 90 minutes, an extra 30 minutes shall be played, and 15 minutes shall be played in each half.

(f) When a match is drawn after extra time, the winner shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by the International Football Association Board.

I think that's the Carling Cup. It's Silver goal in the FA cup right?

I hope the road closure, limited number of trains, Marathon, Stoke-Bolton, and Arsenal-Liverpool make the FA regret their decision to move the Semis to Wembley. It's incredibly stupid and only aimed at paying for the stadium and its constant stream of new pitches.

While City are ecstatic to be going to Wembley, it makes no sense to drag 4 clubs from the Northwest to London to play on a rubbish pitch in a stadium 1/3 full of corporate seats.

Any problems are directly at the feet of the FA.

No matter what, we better batter them.

I really think City wont have the bottle for this. SAF will no doubt come out with some crackers tomorrow just after lunchtime to further the pressure on City's b list players.

Our team has played at Wembley so often, even our boy Hernandez has already scored there, so playing there and the game itself is something we can deal with and hopefully so just play the game and not the occasion. I think that will be the undoing of City. Its the biggest game in most of their players career and when we see the teams line up and shake hands, I'll be watching carefully to see which City players are shaking with fear.

And that fear will be well founded because once Nani, Valencia, Berbatov and Hernandez have had their wicked way with Manchester's B team, it will haunt them all the way through to next years pre season.

I think we win 3-0 or 3-1.

I see a big win for us too. The bitters are no match for us right now. We're hitting our best form at this time so they're going to have to be real good to beat us tomorrow. If you ask me Mancini's put the pressure on them by saying how this is their most important game in years and how history has to be changed and so on and so on. Boy, are they going to be upset tomorrow. Bitter. Still, they're used to it.

wont be able to watch this. not sure if i should try and stay away from the computer till I download the match and watch it, or keep checking the score online the whole time...
This sucks

:lol::lol::lol:

Chelsea is the best team in the FA-Cup in the last 10 years (5 times in the final) and you don´t know the way to the final?

Shut up you! I remember the good old days when they would actually decide fa cup games by playing football until someone won rather than giving up after 120 minutes. Imagine if in 1999 there was no semi replay? That game was one of the best ever and a huge catalyst for your treble in my opinion.

And yes, I'm bitter about penalty shoot outs, they have no place in football.

Understandably.

Do you think Giggs will play or is two games in 4 days a bit too much to expect? I think so, more likely he will play at Newcastle instead.

Just seen a 4 lads walking between Atherton/Leigh on their way to the Wembley with a feck load of booze and draped in team colours.

So jealous.

Why not just say 'penalty kicks'?

I'm on an annoyingly placed holiday in Sydney, so I'll be up at the crack of dawn to watch the game. I'm devastated I can't be there, especially as I had a ticket which I had to sell. Should be a cracker anyway, and I'm pretty confident we have the resources to get through it, but derbies are just so unpredictable. Come on lads, do us proud.

Adam Johnson is very useful player for them, they got him from Borough for 7 Million, the same amount we paid for Bebe !!

Mica Richards is another good payer when he is fit.

I concur with this.

that front three worked really well last weekend.
