Didn't realise he had two kids!

Fergie'll like the stuff in the last sentence too, settling down and that. Self confidence is another good thing, I remember Ronaldo saying he had it in him to be the best in the world in the summer of 2006. Then again, Bendtner...

Can't help but like him really.

That's a good interview.

Interesting he has never done a full pre-season with United after close to four years with the club and that is certainly a rariety. It might explain his issues with fitness and lasting games aside from the constant injuries.

He also sounds very motivated which is good because he does have the raw materials to be a great player, he just has not put that together enough consistently yet.

This is his problem:

I realise he isn't 19 any longer, and there is muscle build up too....but so much of that is blubber.

Like he says, he needs to have a proper pre-season, dedicate himself and hopefully he'll have a bit of luck with injuries, and we'll see him start around ~40 matches next season.

I was expecting to see the picture of him with his hair out of plaits as the after

I'm not sure how much excess weight he's carrying now. I think he's doing better fitness wise - he finally looks like he can play 90 minutes. A proper pre-season and an injury free season and hopefully we'll see the real thing, not just flashes of it.

Good interview with him.

Hard to argue with that. I wonder what his running stats are like now compared to 2008.

Would like to see him without a shirt :nervous:
To see if he has bulked up that much or whether he is just fat :)

Well you can't knock him off the ball so that's a positive. With a pre season I'm sure he'll be in perfect shape by next season.

He has 2 kids? fecking hell, the South Americans like to start early.

Great interview that, I wonder what his English is like? More than just "feck feck feck" now? :D

I'm a big Anderson fan, at times hes underwhelmed but I refuse to believe he cannot be a very, very good player for Manchester United.

Key to remember - not everyone is Fabregas, look how long it took Xavi to develop into a truly world-class CM. Central Midfield is the hardest place on the pitch to develop because so many attributes are needed, mainly, experience which comes with time on the pitch.

In CM terms, he's still a baby at 23. Even Sneijder has only become very good at around 25/26 so atleast a couple more years are on Anderson's side.

Love that article. Love Anderson. Glad he got over his desire to leave and the club showed their desire to keep him. Glad he's still our guy. Now if only the injuries will bugger off!

Once again he's talking he expects fully pre-season and once again I'm surprised... there's Copa America in July.

Most 18 year olds are like that when they get to the Premiership. Ronaldo and Nani were both skinny at that age as I recalled and they both bulked up a feckload. Anderson did 'bulk up', just not in the right way. Which could prove a disadvantage long term.

Hell, Obertan is an absolute tank now too.

Doesn't look that different to the pic from 2007 here to be honest. He's always been heavily built, not fat.

Yeah he won't make Copa America thankfully for us, sadly for them. But, he'll probably be in their squad once he plays next season and shits over everyone.

Well the article mentions an interpreter, so it's probably not great. He really shouldn't need a translator after 4 years to be honest

I guess it's that bit more difficult to learn a new language if you haven't got any formal education (which seems to be the case with Ando and Tevez before him). The whole concept of nouns, verbs and tenses would be completely alien.

You'd like to think he could hold a rudimentary conversation after four years, mind you.

To be fair, it would probably have been a pretty crap and boring article if was done in English.

As you can see here, he doesn't really need a translator, even if his English isn't great:

subbed off after 55 minutes, very wasteful today and didnt seem to connect with Hernandez (who also wasnt at the races himself).

Someone made a very good point about in away games he has to be more creative and anticipate with his spacing and availability in the middle of the park and we seemed to suffer because of it.

So poor today. Away from home syndrome continues. Sadly, though, it's not just Anderson.

flashes of brilliance are one thing but this lad is so inconsistent,i dont think i´ve ever wanted a united player to succeed as much as him (maybe forlan) but i have to say,i really dont think he´s gonna make it with us past anything more than a bit part player.

When this lad joined us, he seemed so good I said he had the potential to one day be the best player in the world.

My god, I don't know what I was saying. He shows flashes of good form, but then the next game he's dogshite. No consistency whatsoever, he's knackered far too much.

In the middle of this season, he was playing well and he was rewarded with a new contract. He needs to find consistency.
