Isn't Cornyn more popular than Cruz, who defeated Beto? And Beto is now less popular than back then.
Cornyn's approval rating is in the 30s, well below Cruz, who Beto gave a real scare the last time around. Beto's profile is bigger now, especially after the El Paso shooting where he was front and center.
I was under impression that Cornyn is quite popular. Beto's profile is bigger now, but not necessarily for the good. Back then many people saw him as a progressive, like a second coming (but more liberal) of Obama, while now it seems that many Democrats (especially the ones in the left) don't like him that much.
That should help him in Texas.

If Biden does win the nomination, I really hope the hipsters stop crucifying him for every memory lapse or mistake in the past like they did with Clinton, considering the mountain of warts they'll be running against.

They may be neutral towards Warren particularly if Bernie endorses her but again if those two end up as the frontrunners at some point then niceties probably take a back seat

A change in presidency might make symbolic difference but without senate majority I doubt any legislative policy either Sanders or Warren want to implement gets done, whereas with Biden, there's at least a chance meaningful policy, albeit incremental and not drastic might get through.
Even with a slight Senate majority, most of Sanders’ signature policies have little hope of passing since a majority of Dem Senators don’t support them. That could change of course if there’s a landslide election in favor of progressives where non progressive Dems feel a mandate to take action, but that is pure pie in the sky fanaticism at this point.
Biggest problem with Sanders, and why I would prefer Warren to him. His uncompromising nature and pure idealism will make him a very unsuccessful president IMO. There is a reason why he has sponsored only 3 bills in the senate (2 of which were renaming post offices).
I believe that Warren while not having as good policies as him (though more concrete), has a better chance on realizing them than Sanders. Biden obviously will do most of the policies (which aren't good in the first place), but he will like to meet Republicans in the middle, and the likes of McConell would totally manipulate him (just see how Biden fecked Harry Reid despite that he had the numbers, but Biden wanted to please Republicans). I believe that Biden will be a continuation of the system, Bernie will be not-influential and Warren will be somehow in the middle.

As for realisation of policies I think @Carolina Red and I discussed that in this thread before. I am of the idea that Bernie’s poor success rate in seeing legislation passed says more about the rest of Congress ideologically than it does him, but that’s the reality of a fairly conservative US political landscape (more conservative than the electorate in my opinion, as big money lobbyists really sink their teeth in). However it is the reality of the system and deserves to be recognised. Liz is seen much more as “part of the club” by an awful lot of people I don’t like or trust, but if she can get their support more easily she may implement policy more easily. That said, at what cost does that trust come at. How ferociously will one fight to push through an agenda compared to one firmly on the outside of a corrupt system? I think that is where the preference for Bernie exists for many. That said I would vote for either with a smile on my face.

If Biden gets nominated it will be seen as a victory for the establishment and centrist dems and he will run on the neoliberal policies that he both believes in and represents.
It’s unfortunate because he won’t beat Trump if he doesn’t motivate those voters and quite frankly he actually demotivates them.

I don't think he has any interest in Senate. Also, the Dems already have a pretty good candidate running and aren't interested in upsetting the apple cart just to accommodate Beto.
I don't understand what his plan is then, he's not polling very well to make a dent in the primary race. Does he go after the governor's seat in 2022?
Warren may be incrementally better since she will have a degree of establishment backing that Sanders isn't likely to have - but make no mistake about it, the Repubs will dig in immediately after inauguration and start thwarting as much of either of their agendas and fundraise off it. They will in effect frame themselves as the resistance (to socialism). Biden would have a better shot at peeling a few of them off to support his policies since many of them are his pals and view him as less appalling, but that would of course not move the needle among progressives.
The problem is the policies that Biden will compromise with Republicans aren't any better than Republican policies to begin with so there is simply no point in nominating Biden unless one happens to be a well-to-do corporatist that only care about increasing the top 10% share of the wealth.
I think his plan is to become President. And falling short, he is probably setting himself up as an attractive VP option.
It seems like a 3 horse race at this point but I wouldn't discount anyone polling above 2-3% at this point since the guy who became President in 2008 spent all of 2017 down by double digits and actually never led in any poll until January of 2008. I wouldn't therefore eliminate the likelihood that something similar could happen again.
I would imagine his policies would be similar to Obama's.
