When he's on form, our team looks absolutely brilliant to watch.

This is exactly what I was stressing in the summer. He is worth the wait, big time. Van Persie should be the inspiration to him, when we were talking RVP is that when a player is injury prone he is unfit, his unfitness means stiff muscles due to lack of exercise and that leads to more injuries as does the over compensation and putting too much pressure on the wrong muscles.

If, like Van Persie, he can get a sustained run and reach a proper level of fitness I really do think the injuries can be put behind him. I do however fear that like Owen he can put his injuries down to one catalytic big injury, the broken leg before he even arrived at Old Trafford.

Really good game for him, he's got a lot to his game that would really be a bonus for us. Only thing that we still need to see is how he does in tighter games. Personally I always feel that he excels in games like this, where you have lots of space and two teams going for the win leaving loads of space on the counter, it's tough games against teams that stay compact that I think will be the true test for him. But if he stays fit he might well be the best balance in the middle of physical ability and tactical knowledge to partner Carrick.

If Anderson's strong suit is playing against opposition that attack, press, etc. then it's a no-brainer to play him there and don't worry too much about opposition that parks the bus, we've got Scholes for that :D (I know, I know, he's old, but never underestimate him or Fergie's man crush on him and Giggs)

Love Anderson!

Really hope he is our number 1 choice CM in future.

He surely can be.

very very good tonight up until about 75 minutes when he was visibly tired

he looked spent at the end of the game

what a great strike

That's my point really, it's can be do it regularly against the teams who sit back. That's where he can't expose teams with his power through the middle as much but has to be more patient and unfortunately is the way most teams set up against us. That and staying fit are his two big things that he needs to improve on imo.

Ha, I remember watching Youtube compilations of him when he signed for us, looking at some of his shooting and runs and thinking, "Holy shit, this guy looks like Rivaldo...!"

Well, it's been 4 years, but that really was a bit like Rivaldo that goal. Not that he's anything like his level or even a similar player going by what we've seen him thus far, but what a strike. This Cleverley and Anderson business...it really does work. It's worked enough now for there to be a trend in terms of results and how we play I'm guessing. If this zombie passing does keep up, these two should start together more often. It makes us incredibly susceptible without someone like Fletcher or Carrick, but it makes me wonder whether now is the time given the injury to Valencia to try out 3 in midfield. Rooney probably won't start next game, so why not try Kagawa out on the left, Van Persie upfront and Nani on the right ahead of a 3 man midfield?

---------------Carrick----------------
----------Cleverley--Anderson--------
----Nani--------------------Kagawa--
--------------Van Persie--------------

We're surely got to try something like this at some point? From where I'm sitting, that looks quality. With Rafael and Evra playing, there'll be enough width to cover for Nani and Kagawa cutting in you'd think.

Not really! He may well do for all I know, not really sure what I base that on. He was great tonight.

When he got kicked by Tiote and lifted his shirt - was waiting for "OMG look at the the fat rolls" ...

Him and Cleverley ahead of Carrick I think would be very strong. With Fletcher taking responsibility to be the cover, Ando was able to take a lot more license to make things happen.

I don't know how often people notice this off him but, I've seen him direct play even when he doesn't have the ball, often telling people what to do - which is a very good trait IMO.

have only seen the highlights of the game. Great strike for his goal, hopefully he can keep striking them like that.

Sounds like he had a very good game while he was on the park as well which is great.

25 performances like that a season would be nice to see, excellent strength and strike for his goal.

Opposite for me Shimo I thought Ando was really good tonight and i'm a fan of his potential, but this directing play thing if you notice is because he's not making the angles to receive the ball he should be and think/hope that's just a lack of fitness thing but it's certainly not a good trait.

6 goals in his last 16 starts. Considering he'd scored 2 in his previous 93 I'd say that's not too shabby.

Fantastic first half performance, but he fadedly badly in the latter part of the second half, which is in no small part to the fact that Newcastle brought on Cisse and were trying to bypass midfield by using the wing and exposing our very inexperienced defenders (which worked well for the goal). But you can also tell that he's been injured. Him, Chicha, Rooney and Cleverly were knackered by the end.

I'm a bit cautious about calling him the midfield Messiah right now, but it's no secret that I like Anderson a lot, and would love to see him given a run of games to see if he can offer more to the team than what we're getting so far.

Showed good pace yesterday. Looks much fitter. Wonderful strike for the goal. Looked a bit tired near the end.

thats the crux of the matter really isnt it? He was good last night hopefully we see that against the better teams...

Yeah, last night counts for very little, really. Newcastle had a weakened side and there wasn't the sort of urgency you'd get from a league game. We all know he has a lot of ability. Now he needs to start doing that sort of thing when it matters.

That's very good to be fair; alot more than I expected.

If he can carry that on he could get 10 goals a season, more than achievable for his ability.

Very decent from Ando...Very decent. Played son. Great hit and made his chance before that well.

Few rusty touches...but what do you expect from someone who hasn't played for weeks.

Keep it up son. Keep it up.

Played really well last night.

Fitness permitting deserves to start the next league match with Carrick.

You mean ... attacks the space?

I mean what i said Cina :)

I have been critical of Anderson in the past...I've also praised him in the past. I really think he is useful and a bit different to what we have.

I have fingers crossed he forces himself into the team and plays well enough to stay there. It can only benefit Manchester United if he does.

Yeah pretty much. I think he knows himself thats hes in the last chance saloon this season. Maybe that might help him finally find some consistantly. Last nights game was about as informative as a reserve game in a way...although I did enjoy it.

Bit more than a reserve game but see where you're coming from. Hopefully he gets better and better.

Still think he's are overall best midfielder, most complete.
