He was pretty good today.
yeah he played pretty well without doing anything particularly impressiveHate how this myth has become reality. It has been disproved for this season.
Heard he did well today. Did he?
Was one of our best players today, people will never rate Anderson, and the fat lark is getting old quick.
Plenty on here do rate him very highly.
did you think that was a really good performance today from him?Was one of our best players today, people will never rate Anderson, and the fat lark is getting old quick.
I know, but I'm talking specifically about the people who just can't stand him, no matter what you debate, or say, they come with the ''yeah well he's fat'' remark.
I've yet so see one person give specific examples of his lack of fitness, his lack of composure, or his lack of work rate.
He's by no means a perfect player, or a finished article, but the abuse he gets on here as almost as magnified as the Bebe, Gibson, and old Berbatov shite that was sprout all over the place.

kagawa came on and looked a hell of a lot better
he did ok and worked hard but didnt see much of the ball (mainly due to barca tactics)
reality is he isn't looking match fit and is clearly carrying too much weight
I'd love to know how many times he completed 90 mins in all his appearances
barca do starve you of possession though - he was feeding off scraps and most of our possession was down the right with nani/valenciaI rate Ando, but this wasn't his best game. He must influence game more, he was invisible for most of the game.

we should have started the game with scholes and carrick behind Ando
That's fair enough then. I'm not really a fan of Anderson and doubt he'll make it here but I still hope he will. I'd like to think that whenever I've criticised him in the thread I've tried to not really come across as a 'hater'.
I think his lack of fitness has been obvious at times though. The fact that he's an injury prone player doesn't help obviously, but he hasn't always looked overly fit. He's never been 'fat' but there have been times again where he's arguably looked slightly overweight and unfit. His attitude to football could probably be better considering his rep as a bit of a party animal.
To be honest though, having a lack of composure is a problem of his for me. I don't blame him for workrate, because he's not a type of player for us like Fletcher is. He's a player who relies more on technical ability, but the problem is that his ability isn't anything special. The fact is that his best season with us was probably his first one. He was impressive that season but just hasn't come on at all since then. He's shown glimpses at times but has just been so frustrating.
Well, I bet Scholes make at least 30 more passes than he did. We all know Scholes' abilities, but if scholes in his 37th can, than Anderson should make more passes too.

I don't think we can say he won't make it here, he's played in 145 competitive matches, even with injuries. Won 3 premier league titles, a league cup, a champions league, a club world cup, and a charity shield.
I wouldn't say he has a lack of fitness, but a lack of match fitness due to his injuries, which has been a stumbling block in his career.
His rep of a party animal is no worse then say, Rooneys, Rios or Ronaldo when he was here, he's a 24 year old young man with a shit load of money.
I'm not saying his attitude is perfect, he's no Paul Scholes.
And to be honest, he's played in the 'Fletcher' role more often then in the 'Scholes' role, and he's done ok, but he is naturally an attacking midfielder, and he hasn't been given the time there, for whatever reason.
What does that first part really mean though? Yes, he's played 145 matches but I wouldn't say it means much when he's hardly been the major influence in the side in a lot of them. The trophies he's won here don't mean anything either when, if you took him out the team, I doubt we wouldn't have won any of them. He's not exactly been the key player most of the time for us winning those trophies.
The difference with people like Ronaldo and Rooney is that they're already incredible footballers. Yes, they have always been seen as party animals but Rooney has a reputation as one of the hardest working players at the club. Ronaldo is naturally one of the best footballers in the world. It's not that he hasn't worked hard, but he could get away with being lax and he'd still be incredible. Anderson is more injury prone than them and needs to put in that extra bit of effort, if you will. I'm not really seeing that at the moment. I don't see a player who knows this is probably his last chance and really has to prove himself to have a future at the club. I'm not expecting every player to be Scholes, but even some more notorious party animals in the team seem to have better attitudes than him.
He's done okay when he's been given more of a Fletcher role, but workrate isn't really his strong suit. Creatively, he has shown glimpses but has been largely inconsistent and very disappointing at times.
Sorry, that's just bullshit. Do OShea's trophies mean nothing then? Did he not make it here? Same with Brown? That makes no sense. Oh, and without his pen, we may have not won the CL
I don't mean it in the way that he's been useless, I mean it in the way that you can't use it to prove his worth to the team when he hasn't been central to all of that trophies. The penalty in the CL is a fair point but put someone else in his place and there's a good chance they'd still score it. Over the course of the whole CL season he was nowhere near as influential as Jake's post would make out. You can't use trophies to say how good a player is, is what I'm basically saying to him.
I agree with that, but nobody is portraying him to be a world beater ( I think). I just think the insults he gets here are uncalled for. He isn't great, but I don't he is nearly as bad as people on here make out. I really don't understand the absolute hate some people have for footballers, but that's for another topic.
I agree with you on that, but I'm not exactly an Anderson hater at all, I'm just someone who doesn't think he'll make it here and who doesn't particularly rate him as a footballer.
Anderson is the type of player we would all label as shit if he played for the Dippers or Arsenal. But because he plays for us, we are proud and try to protect him.
But let's be honest - he's never going to light up Old Trafford and spends more time in Burger King and in the physio's room than on the pitch.

Bollox, Anderson is a good player, with the potential to be great.
When he gets a run of games, he bosses midfields,
I do like the comments relating to him taking pictures of his food. Do people think footballer's train hard and burn tons of energy every single day, then go home and eat half a bowl of shredded wheat for dinner?
I'd be slightly more concerned maybe if he was posting pictures of fish ahd chips or takeaway pizza every day...although even then it'd be funny because it'd infuriate everyone.
Bollocks!![]()
Yes, you are talking bollocks. Anderson is a cracking player when he has a run of games.
