Hahaha, what a crafty little scamp.
Credit to the lad in the newbs.

He was great against a weakened newcastle. I hope saf gives him a chance against spurs.

Still looks to be tiring a bit too quickly. He was shot after about 60 minutes.

Also, his movement looks a bit hampered at times, like he's not in top shape physically.

When he sorts that out, I reckon we're in for some quality Ando-performances - only for him to injure himself and feck off for the rest of the season.

Like with any other player there are some fans who give him patience while there are others who wanted him out long ago or thought he was just not good enough.

Originally fans showed him a lot of patience because it is as plain as day that he is exceptionally talented and in there somewhere is a top, top class player. Compare that to say Gibson who never showed glimpses of being United quality and it is obvious why he is afforded more time.

I actual think he has been overly criticised in the last year. His injuries are the main (almost only) thing in my eyes keeping him from realising his potential; whereas listening to some people it's that he's out getting hammered every night, eating kebabs and stealing sweets from children.

I think he has Rooney's physique. Rooney coming back after the bets part of a year would be a sight to behold.

Cina really hates Ando, strange he hasn't mentioned the pies yet..

 Because I don't think he's our best and most complete midfielder yet?

I don't think he'll ever be the midfield creator we all expected him to be, and desperately need. he will be a top player though, no doubt

No he didn't. He looks very fit and is lasting 90 minutes in all games so far, so if he keeps that up then I don't give 2 shits how tubby his face is.

His positioning is dire but other than that he still has all the attributes to be brilliant.

Needs to happen soon though, i.e. this season if he gets a proper pre-season in him.

I don't think I've ever shown "hate" for him, never suggested he can't be a really good midfielder, but naturally hope dwindles over the years given his injury and fitness levels. I've never at any point said we should get rid (like others have), that'd be "hate".

I am probably a bit harsh on the fat/pies thing though.

This is a good point. Anderson has a lot of talent but his fitness (injury and endurance wise) is not that great. I think this could be a make or break season for him because if he still suffering from injury, the manager might feel that bringing someone in who is of similar quality but with a better injury record would be better for the club. We can't exactly criticise him for getting injured, but there has to be a time where the club has to cut its losses.

I was not really meaning that you really 'hate' him but you really are one of his biggest critics here. Him being fat and eating all pies in Brazil have been mentioned many times by you.

Yep, fitness needs to improve, but it's getting there.

Happy for Anderson. Played great with a great goal.

However, the goal aside I hate his shooting technique. Why does he always take side footers?

It kills me how a Brazilian can be so indecisive when shooting.

He buys his own sweets.

I love the way Anderson isn't afraid to trust his teammate's touch and rifle a pass through the middle even when it's congested. I think Kagawa would appreciate it too, I'd like to see them playing together.

Decent game from him tonight. If he could just step up a level or two he could really boss games. He has the weapons but has he got the determination and drive?

Should start the next fixture.

Was one of the more active players eventhough he played a lot on the right. Looks a bit immobile though, should work on that (yes, always the same here)

I thought he had very good game too. He looks like he is maturing a bit, keeping possesion very well, no more hollywood balls(he had one), and his runs through middle always look dangerous, we should play him more often.

Agree with scrumpet there about using the best of his teammates part.

Nope. For me he has been the star of the show in his last two games. He looks 100% control throughout the game, with his first touch passing and link up play. His decision making has been second to none in that team and I am really starting to trust him as a player.

First time I've used this phrase, but I am sure you have heard it many times before.

This IS his breakthrough season. He will be a star this time next year.

Needs to work on his stamina though.

I must admit I'm no more excited about this than I have been any other time he's turned it on for a few games. That's never been the problem. If he can play pretty consistently for a dozen games or more then maybe I'll buy into it. Until then I'm not convinced.

He needs to stay fit and work on his stamina. Everytime he starts doing well he gets injured that's always been the problem with him. We can just pray that he finally gets a injury free season.

Really like the way he is doing last 2 games.

Hopefully no injuries and we could have a superb midfielder at our hands.

I'm not Anderson's biggest fan, in fact I'd given up on him last season.

If, and that's a big if, he remains fit and focused he's every chance of succeeding in having a career here long term as a squad player.
Don't think he'll ever reach the potential he had, which in fairness to him was shown in a different role, but he can play a part. A squad player is what he'll be, in my opinion.

Ferguson has admitted he has found it difficult to leave out the Brazilian so far this season.

He said: "He's a difficult one to leave out. There's been nothing wrong with the form of Scholes and Carrick.

“It makes it difficult to involve others in the team, especially as our desire is always to play with two wide players.

“But Anderson's pre-season form was terrific. He's a top player.”

I didn't think he was that great last night to be honest but in saying that the tide of opinion the other way suggests I've misread the match.

Mainly I felt his first touch was not up to muster, and his off the ball movement wasn't great (although in saying that there's only so much you can do off the ball when they've basically parked the bus from the 14th minute onwards).

He is dynamic, strong, decent defensively and can pick out a pass but his shooting technique is awful. Well I think its panic more than a technical deficiency

Decent game; 7/10.

I will reserve my excitement until he has a consistent run of form for more than 2 games.

I thought he kept playing hopsital passes to his team-mates at one point of time, it was either hit too hard or too slow. Still he must start at the weekend, preferably with Cleverley and Carrick in midfield

Was really good last night. I thought he could have bombed forwards more but I guess Cleverley was given more of a licence yesterday with him holding along with Fletcher. Also think he can make more driving runs. He has the ball control and upper body strength to do so.

I thought he had a reasonable game but with Fletcher sitting behind them, the impetus was really on Anderson and Cleverley to get forward and create something - which neither of them did fantastically well.

What I would have liked to see from Anderson was a few more surging runs forward with the ball, taking players on, beating them for pace to create a chance. Still he had a decent game on the whole especially as we were playing an unusual formation which meant he ended up covering out on the right flank a lot, which I don't think helped him.

Another impressive display from Anderson last night. As others have said though, it's whether he can stay fit and maintain this form which is the key.

I don't think anyone really had a 10/10 game last night but for me Anderson was one of the better performers.

Agreed.
