What do think of the (supposedly) imminent signing of Anthony Martial?

19 year old RW/CF at Monaco. Has amazing potentialI think, and is the type of player we are reportedly after, in that he is rapid. Gave Arsenal a chasing at the Emirates last season too.

I've said all summer that my suspicion is that Felipe Anderson is our fall back option, but I think he's a name worth considering too.

Saw him for the first time on Tuesday against Valencia after reading his name on the forum, he looked good. Impressed with his technique, had some decent crosses too. Was always dangerous with his movement.

Dont know how good he really is, but he seems highly rated and his name gets dropped around more often recently.

He's been compared, perhaps lazily, to Henry, but I an see the similarity in the graceful way he moves with the ball. Right now I think he's still trying to discover what his best position is in the forward line but I really hope we are tracking him as the talent is obvious.

If it would help, I could see buying him but loaning him back to Monaco for a year. They have no other good 9 options and he doesn't have any caps yet and so could use the experience.

Watched him against Valencia in the 1st leg and he carried the ball well, made good runs and looked a goal threat and unselfish. Lots of potential, certainly.

Good technique and looks comfortable on the ball. Him and Carrasco are the brightest young talents they have had recently.

I remember Spurs were heavily linked with him, iirc SSN had him down as actually moving there, then fortunately he signed a new contract. I'm quite surprised Arsenal haven't had a look at him, I wouldn't mind him at United but think he'll end up as Benzemas replacement at Real, either him or Lacazette.
But my god do the french have some exciting youth with high potential ceilings, they're going to be one if not the favourites to win the Euros next summer and even WC 2018.

Just signed a new contract. Tottenham played the role of Man United. Spurs were linked for a while then he got new contract.

I have thought this with many players but United rarely use the buy and loan back strategy for top young players, except January signings perhaps. But I mean some of the really promising players you would think it could be a strategy to get them young and leave them.

This kid seems like he's got the makings of a top player but I recently read that Real are eyeing him up? Definitely think he or lacazette will move to Real to replace Benzema!

Monaco have drastically changed their approach in the transfer market and focused on picking up all the best young players from within France. The owner's looking to make money not blitz it anymore.

More then 50 million Euros. Discussions ongoing.

That would be an absolutely insane price.

Please be true. Way overpriced at that price of course, but like City with Otamendi, Sterling and De Bruyne, it's pretty simple. He improves us and gives us something we need, who gives a feck about the price. You need to spend over the odds to buy the best talents out there and Martial looks class. Strong, fast, great on the ball.

Bouhafsi was spot on more often than not regarding transfers coming/leaving Ligue 1 so I guess he knows his stuff. Martial is exciting to be fair.

Insh'Allah!

Please be true, my first choice option.

I would be very happy with signing him. €50million you say? Time for woody to offer a multipack of walkers crisps, a 2 for 1 cinema ticket and an all expenses paid tour of Yugoslavia then...

Extremely talented, but not even close to the finished article? I'd rather we spend the money on Lacazette for now. He'd have gotten two or three for us today if he'd been on the end of Rooney's chances.

Really, who gives a feck about the price. We can comfortably spend over another 100m this summer. United isn't a team that can really go look for bargains right now. Chelsea bought Pedro, who was the only one to be had this summer for the attacking positions. City splashed the cash on De Bruyne. Crazy price, sure, but does he improve them? Without a doubt, so they don't care. Similarly, we should spend big money on players who will improve us, because we really shouldn't care so long as we get the players in and it makes us better.

We should be getting him for less. Either way he's definitely very talented and would be a brilliant signing.

Are we really getting him? Are the sources for this any good?

Pedro and De Bruyne aren't all potential. This kid is.
