Arsenal vs. Manchester United

We've been pretty unlucky in the league at the Emirates. The last two years we were the better team and outplayed (and I think out-possessed) them on their own ground, which is rare.

If we make silly mistakes at the back we'll not get or deserve anything though, which to be fair you could argue was the case the last couple of years too.

Nani doesn't deserve to be dropped given his recent form, but I can see Valencia and Park started instead due to their defensive skills, shame really.

One thing I hope is that Rooney isn't put on the left if we go 4-5-1, keep the lad up top please!

Rooney was brilliant on the left last year against the top teams.

I'd go with Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher Giggs, Rooney and Berbatov playing an advanced role.

If rooney was to be shifted out on the left, I would rather have Owen playing on the arse's shoulder looking to make those runs.
Sol and Owen in a race, wonder who would win ?

Bolton havent won a league game at Anfield for the last 57 years or something but they did win a cup game recently. Just saying.

 :wenger: :wenger: The difference is astronomical. Many managers take the domestic cup competitions to give the reseves and fring a run out. Whereas the Champions League semi final has even more meaning and importance than a league game.

I'd say it counts the same.

Meh, I dont really care for these stats myself. But I choose to take each competition and its records seperately. But to each his own.

 And to think wenger said he broke his leg. Jeez. I mean there's exaggerating an injury which tbf all managers do but wenger just takes it another level completely.

except he said it could be between a nerve and broken leg. not . He has broken his leg. More a case of media sensationalisation.

Wenger never said he broke his leg. After the match he said it could either be short term or long term, it was the media who were going on about a broken leg.

I agree, I would like to see Valencia, Giggs and Fletcher play this.

This means Gallas and Vermealen have started EVERY league game together. Why can't we have the same luxury? :(

Strong team, very strong. Can see us getting beat 2-1 to be honest.

Have faith sir. We'll easily match them in midfield with the likes of Fletcher and Carrick on, and if Vidic and Evans both start we'll have them beat in the air. Arshavin hasn't been in particularly great form lately, and aside from Fabregas he's their biggest threat. And Bendtner? He's shit enough even when fully fit, let alone just coming back from injury.

I'm not scared by that line-up.

I really really really really really hope SAF goes for Nani and Valencia on the wings. I can understand how he went for Park last year, but now that Ronaldo is gone we don't need to expend a whole position just to provide some defensive cover. We need all the attacking options we can get and based on Nani and Valencia's current form, both deserve to start.

Probable bench of Fabianski, Traore, Campbell, Ramsey, Nasri, Walcott, Vela

Maybe Silvestre for Traore.

No, but just when you think we might get a stroke of luck and have a 1st choice centre-half out each, Vermaelen recovers from a suspected broken leg in about 4 days. Ridiculous over-exaggeration by Wenger and the media...again.
