Arsenal vs. Manchester United

I thought Nani and Valencia should both start. Lets see how it turns out.

Both on the right? Nani has been far, far better on the right than on the left. Why switch him back and risk ruining his current form.

Besides, with Valencias pace and strength he'll make a good impact sub later on if needed.

Why are so many complaining about the 4-5-1 formation we are using today?
Almost the same team that faced City and we played some brilliant football with this team.
Hopefuly Park performs and Rooney won't be too isolated up front though.

Two big ifs considering they would both go against recent games.

I would like to point out last time we played at the Emirates, Park had a good game and if he doesnt play well we have the option to bring on Valencia or switch to a 4-4-2 quite easily.

Other than that 4-5-1 pisses me off but if it brings us a result today who cares.

I can't say that line-up gives me confidence. I don't know why Fergie seems to be so afraid of playing our natural team in big games. However this system has worked before so we'll see how it goes.

Vidic - 'A setback in training' apparently. He didn't travel.

Sums him and the other defenders up at the moment. Set backs in training, injuries in warm-ups etc. Has our team coach ran over a black cat who has a "thing" for defenders or something. This is ridiculous.

so i'm a spastic for having an opinion.

hmmm, thank you sir.

Not only does Park historically perform exceptionally against Arsenal, but he's been in good nick since he's come back from his most recent injury. Even against Brum he managed to look useful and played a part in forcing the goal.

If he performs shit, as he does at times, fair fecks have a go then. But to express your extreme disappointment that he's starting (when w'eve got no other options on the left at the moment anyway - unless you're advocating starting Giggs there for the second high intensity game in a row?) is quite frankly laughable.

I get more annoyed by rio stupid punch on fagan or else he would definately have played...

Fergie is Benitez in disguise these days. When did he stop wanting to win games? Anyone know if I can bet somewhere that Park will be off in the 65th minute?

What the hell is this reaction over Park playing? Has Valencia ever played on the left? Has Nani not recently impressed much more on th right than he ever did on the left? Our left wing options are a bit short!

Welcome to the Match-day thread.

Home of the casual spastics.

Theres nothing wrong with Park playing. People seem to forget he scored a goal against Arsenal at Emirates last season.

And Nani over Valencia is common sense as Nani has been in superb form. It'd be stupid to rest him now.

Get a grip and get behind the lads people. Jeez

Its impossible to have a discussion here without someone labelling you as a spastic or a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

Who is captain?

FAO of people moaning about 4-5-1 over 4-4-2. Get a grip. Every time we play 4-4-2 in big games, we lose. Our midfielders are not good enough to control big games in a pair. Also, what the feck has Park done to deserve all this bashing?

It annoys me too mate. Brwned once said thats its actually a strength to able to adapt abd to be able to play in more than one way if we need it. Good point but doesn't fit the once been philosophy of attacking football we have had.

Er..Valencia and Nani are not half the players on the left that they are on the right and right now nani is on a high.
Benzema was signed for 35 mil and he's still benched. Buying someone for a big price doesnt neccesarily suggest that that particular player will be suitable for every game, opposition and tactic.

So we bought Berba for handy home games vs Hull?

I see what you are saying and I am actually happy we are 4-5-1 today.

But He does seem to be benched for the vast majority of big games

If we spend 30m on ONE player in our financial state he'd better start in the big games. Try to think of 'big' games Berbatov started for us... do you any? I really can't remember. Do we need to spend that much to play him against opposition like Hull?
Park's inclusion is a fecking joke considering Valencia has as much work rate as him and is the far superior footballer. And if this opinion makes me an 'absolute fecking Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime', so be it.

arsenal apart from their forward line are playing a strong starting 11...

Yes, i'd have giggs instead of park. I'd also have been happy with nani on the left and valencia on the right.

Defensive injuries are destroying our season. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet with that central defence.
