Aston Villa v Manchester United

Having heard that inerview with Ronnie about the FA Cup, he doens't sound like a player who'll be missing this one out.

The only two positions i can see Sir Alex considering rotating, would be left wing in the shape fo Park or Nani in for Giggs, and one of the two CM berths.

However as i said earlier in the thread, i'd like our strongest possible team out there.

Yesterday and before that i was thinking maybe a tight 0-1, but now...i wonder if we could have an exciting high scoring game on our hands here. 2-3 perhaps?

I hope it's United strongest fit pairing, United will run riot on Villa again
 
Fancy their too be plenty of goals in this one.

Is Carew still out for villa? If so, then that's good news. But we'd still have to be careful with set pieces, Laursen and Melberg are quite dangerous from those and with Young and Barry capable of putting through dangerous crosses, our CBs need to be on top of their game, unlike against West Ham.

Hope Ronaldo gets a rest. Don't want to burn him out for the latter stages of the season. Park can do a job on the wing.

Rooney, Anderson and Nani to start hopefully. Hopefully see some good attacking football at Villa Park today.

I'm trying to work out whether it is that you overestiamte us, underestimate Villa, or just don't so much about the FA Cup.

Maybe a combination. lol

No doubt some of the very same people advocating a weaker XI now, would be those with the knee jerk reactions were we to make an exit from the compeititon later todaay.

I don't think one game is going to have a such a severe affect months down the line, and Park has only jsut made his comeback too, no surrise at all if he was a tad inconsistent in the coming weeks.

Villa will go in with a near settled side, up for it good and proper, too many changes beyond that of necessity on our part, and our rhythm will suffer, be inviting trouble.

Yep, I agree. I think it's going to be a tough match. It wouldn't totaly shock me if Aston Villa got a result.
 
I'll miss the game (the first this season) as my girlfriend has a huge surprise planed. I'm not man enough to tell her I dont give a shit and would prefer to watch the game though

would you feel weird if you came just as united scored. Say the goalscorer was tevez or rooney.

Good to see Rooney on the bench.
Strong enough line up, Ronaldo up-front makes alot more sense when playing away fro home.
