Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Is Berbatov injured or not !?

Yes.

But not as bad as first feared, apparently.

Manchester United have revealed that Dimitar Berbatov's hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.

The Bulgarian striker picked up the problem while away on international in midweek and will definitely sit out the Red Devils' Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.

The sight of their £31m man limping off against Serbia on Wednesday came as a major concern to the Old Trafford medical staff, but further tests have helped to ease their worries.

The 27-year-old is expected to sit out United's UEFA Champions League clash with Villarreal next week, and possibly the Manchester derby against City, but Sir Alex Ferguson is confident the languid front-man will not be sidelined for too long.

"It's a slight strain rather than a tear, so that is positive news," said the United boss.

Great news about Rooney.

I have faith in Evans/Vidic too.

The only remaining worry is the Porugal/Brazilian crew. And Fletcher.

Did Anderson play 90 minutes?

Anyone heard any news on El Fletch?

So berbatov, Brown, Neville are definitely out and Giggs, Fletcher, Rio, Rooney are all either coming back from injuries or are doubtful. And Nani, Anderson and Ronaldo are coming back from Brazil. Thats pretty much the entire team. not expecting a lot from this game.

Hope Fletcher is fit. Wouldn't mind seeing him at right back for the next few games.

all our main rivals play before us so that's handy. pity about our injuries but I'm still hoping for a win.

I'll pop down to the pub at about 11am EST to catch the 2nd half of the other games and then stay for ours :D

Neville's available for tomorrow isn't he?

Fergie says he is in that Berbatov injury story on SSN.

I'd go for:

VDS
Neville Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Giggs Park
Tevez Rooney

1-0 United. Ronaldo.

---------------VDS---------------
Rafael----Evans----Vidic------Evra
Ronaldo--Carrick---Anderson--Nani
---------Tevez----Rooney--------

Subs: PIG, Neville, O'Shea, Fletch, Park, Giggs, Wellbeck.

Its on Satanta Sports aswell guyz.

Predicted line-up:

Ronaldo

This is an extremely tough game for us. We need to win it too cos I cant see the scum or the renties dropping points tomorrow, both being at home....

Edwin
Gary Evans Vidic Evra
Fletch Carrick Park
Ronaldo Rooney Tevez

Well, kind of. I think Park will start tomorrow, his teamwork will be much needed in this game.
Maybe it's more like 4-4-2.

So we have some problems - but a front 2 of Tevez & Rooney looks likely (if the latter is really fit - otherwise Welbeck).

Fletcher & Carrick for central-mid you'd think - since Nani didn't play and CR did 90 mins I reckon Ronnie's on the bench - so poss Nani & Park out wide. (Anderson on the same journey played 75 mins I think - so another bench spot?)

Central defence looks like Vidic & Evans - we have Evra available and either Rafael, Gaz or O'Shea for the other side.

I'd like to think Wayne's ok to start - refinds his understanding with Carlos - and we win 2-0.

Sounds good to me.

We've got a fair few problems going into this game. Quie a few injuries and players coming back from international duty possibly suffering from jetlag. It could finally be time to love against Villa after beating them fourteen times in a row although I hope we can stil scrape the win.

Van Der Sar

Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra

Park - Fletcher - Carrick - Nani

----------Tevez - Rooney

Ronaldo is probably tired after playing 90 minutes so may well start from the bench and be brought on later in he game if we're struggling. I'm hoping Rio is fit because we look far better defensively when he's in the team. Evans is decent cover but he's not close to Rio just yet.

Hopefully Rooney is fit as well and he can resume his partnership with Tevez. I actually think their 'telepathic' partnership is over rated. They only really 'clicked' three or four times last season, but at the end of it all we won a hell of a lot of games with them in the team and came away with two shiny trophies so it can't have been that bad. Let's see what they can produce today.

This is going to be an intense match. Villa are playing great football. I would actually be content with a draw at this point.

----------VDS--------
O'Shea--Rio----Vidic---
---------Carrick------
----Fletcher------Evra
--------------Park----
Ronaldo---Tevez------
--------Rooney-------

I'll be amazed if O'Shea starts this game. He's just not fast enough to contain Villas threat from the wings. It's got Rafael written all over this game and i'm certain Park will also start as he's the perfect foil for Rafael. My team:

---------------VDS--------------
------Rafael--Rio--Vidic--Evra-----
--Park--Carrick--Fletcher--Ronnie--
---------Rooney----Tevez---------

That'll get the 3 points.

But Villa score billions of goals from set pieces (at least they did last season), so O'Shea's height could come in handy. And Rafael may be quick, but his defending is immature, to say the least.

----------VDS--------
O'Shea--Rio----Vidic---
---------Carrick------
----Fletcher------Evra
--------------Park----
Ronaldo---Tevez------
--------Rooney-------

Oh...the 3-1-2-1-2-1 formation...good stuff.

lets not forget that Villa had plenty of players involved in midweek internationals too.

what a hilarious line up! Will eat my hat if we line up like that

I just hope O'Shea starts. He has been class recently.

O'shea and Class?

Just because he has started the last two games against the likes of QPR and Stoke City doesn't automatically make him class.

He is an average footballer who would probably get in to Sunderland's line-up.

Would probably go for this line up to mate.

The only possible change for me would be the swapping of Park and Ronaldo around dependent on which side Young starts on for Villa.
