Is Berbatov injured or not !?
Is Berbatov injured or not !?
Manchester United have revealed that Dimitar Berbatov's hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.
The Bulgarian striker picked up the problem while away on international in midweek and will definitely sit out the Red Devils' Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.
The sight of their £31m man limping off against Serbia on Wednesday came as a major concern to the Old Trafford medical staff, but further tests have helped to ease their worries.
The 27-year-old is expected to sit out United's UEFA Champions League clash with Villarreal next week, and possibly the Manchester derby against City, but Sir Alex Ferguson is confident the languid front-man will not be sidelined for too long.
"It's a slight strain rather than a tear, so that is positive news," said the United boss.
Where is this quote from?
He's not giving a press conference until lunch-time.

Yes.
But not as bad as first feared, apparently.

So berbatov, Brown, Neville are definitely out and Giggs, Fletcher, Rio, Rooney are all either coming back from injuries or are doubtful. And Nani, Anderson and Ronaldo are coming back from Brazil. Thats pretty much the entire team. not expecting a lot from this game.
Hope Fletcher is fit. Wouldn't mind seeing him at right back for the next few games.

the premiership
next saturday (day after friday, day before sunday)
17:30 (actually half 7)
Villa's place
Its on Satanta Sports aswell guyz.
Predicted line-up:
Ronaldo
So we have some problems - but a front 2 of Tevez & Rooney looks likely (if the latter is really fit - otherwise Welbeck).
Fletcher & Carrick for central-mid you'd think - since Nani didn't play and CR did 90 mins I reckon Ronnie's on the bench - so poss Nani & Park out wide. (Anderson on the same journey played 75 mins I think - so another bench spot?)
Central defence looks like Vidic & Evans - we have Evra available and either Rafael, Gaz or O'Shea for the other side.
I'd like to think Wayne's ok to start - refinds his understanding with Carlos - and we win 2-0.
Came on at half time.since Nani didn't play
This Rafael / Park combo looks interesting.
----------VDS--------
O'Shea--Rio----Vidic---
---------Carrick------
----Fletcher------Evra
--------------Park----
Ronaldo---Tevez------
--------Rooney-------
We've got a fair few problems going into this game. Quie a few injuries and players coming back from international duty possibly suffering from jetlag. .
----------VDS--------
O'Shea--Rio----Vidic---
---------Carrick------
----Fletcher------Evra
--------------Park----
Ronaldo---Tevez------
--------Rooney-------
I just hope O'Shea starts. He has been class recently.
O'shea and Class?
Just because he has started the last two games against the likes of QPR and Stoke City doesn't automatically make him class.
He is an average footballer who would probably get in to Sunderland's line-up.

I'll be amazed if O'Shea starts this game. He's just not fast enough to contain Villas threat from the wings. It's got Rafael written all over this game and i'm certain Park will also start as he's the perfect foil for Rafael. My team:
---------------VDS--------------
------Rafael--Rio--Vidic--Evra-----
--Park--Carrick--Fletcher--Ronnie--
---------Rooney----Tevez---------
That'll get the 3 points.
